A real artist tries to stretch their creative choices. Not always popularly successful but different. Ms. Henske was a real artist. Will be remembered for sure. Thank you.
Never heard this version and i like it. Have only heard Slades version wich really cooks along. Never heard of her till i watched the movie Hootenanny Hoot from 1963(year i was born) which she did two songs. Very forceful singer and know where Janis and Grace got some of their influence..
Not only is she a flamethrower of a torch singer, if you listen to her intros on her early albums, she has sense of humour and delivery that's hilarious.
She is brilliant!

She definitely does not sound like she's having very good times. More like, let the downbeat, depressed, slow, sad times roll.
I think this song is done in the spirit of sex and booze, so it's supposed to be sultry, and sensual.
Sounds pretty typical of the style. :/
Not a good song choice for her.
I prefer Dean Martin's version.
