San Francisco most of the city is clean and glitzy, the homeless have their area where they are living and if you don’t go in their area , you don’t find poop on streets. When maintenance is not done this is the result. Chemical cars are owned by chemical companies. And are transported by the railroad.
To add insult to injury the brake regulation would have had NO effect on this. This was apparently caused by a bearing failure. It also appears that the track side sensor equipment isn't very reliable in cold weather. I was watching a video of a CSX inspector working with a maintenance crew on one of their lines that had a malfunctioning system that is supposed to detect an overheated wheel. Without a train in sight it was generating warnings, and when they had a train run the tracks a few times the warnings eventually went away. The inspector showed the inside of the equipment cabinet and on the floor was a portable heater. He remarked that the crew must have turned it on when they arrived and it was warm inside the cabinet. I work with electronics for an aerospace company, and one test we do is temperature tolerance. What he described is typical performance of a COMMERCIAL grade item that you would find in consumer electronic devices, not industrial grade items that can tolerate below freezing temperatures.
Had nothing to do with the explosion. Deregulation for red tape, not allowing train maintenance to be neglected.

You are the one who doesn't understand. President Trump doesn't have the power to reverse course. Biden does. He had been in office for over 2 years at the time of this train derailment. The left blames President Trump and claims that it was his deregulation that caused this accident, but pothole Pete and Biden have had over two years to reverse the alleged damage that President Trump caused and they could have reinstated the regulations that President Trump allegedly ended but they did not. Therefore, if the derailment was the result of President Trump's deregulation, then the accident is actually Biden's fault as he has had over 2 years to reinstate them.

Joy is every rich white Westside LA woman who has one of those "In this house we believe" signs that includes the line "Love is Love" and yet hates anyone who doesn't think exactly like her. And every single one of them is so predictable and so tiresome.

@@robertcrittenden916 If mechanics fail, it could easily be caused by a lack of maintenance. That should be part of safety regulations and as such, regulation is a serious option here. Also when the failure is caused by an overload, safety regulations should have prevented this and also in that case, regulation is key.

In honor and memory of Barbara Walters it’s time to retire “The View”. Joy Bahar has taken this show in a direction Walters would never have allowed were she still in charge and would be so embarrassed if she were still alive. In honor and memory of a well respected journalist, newscaster and the founder of the show it’s time to retire it.
All this makes me miss Joan Rivers even more. In her book, "Diary of a Mad Diva", Joan reckons that The View should be called The Chew or The Spew. Nothing on that show has changed much except the failed show business personalities that are on it. Makes me glad I ditched my television decades ago. I cannot believe that show is still be watched by anyone with a functioning brain.
