No. They are not. Julian Assange stole/steals private documents and reveals them, for his own agenda. He chooses what he exposes, not in an effort to expose corruption. Snowden did NOT follow the proper channels. There are procedures for whistleblowers to follow. That is the whole point of anonymity. So that a prospective whistleblower feels they can come forward about wrongdoing without fear of retribution. This whistleblower followed the channels set out, the AG told the DOJ to ignore it, and when the IG asked Congress what became of the complaint, it was the first they heard of it. There was a deliberate attempt, by the tRump administration to cover up what the whistle blower identified as a concern. So they "released" the memo of the call, the words of which, followed by subsequent evidence confirmed exactly what the whistle blower said...and more, more serious evidence of wrong doing.
