In this video, we show the creamiest caramelized onion dip recipe that goes perfectly well with potato chips (crisps), crackers, toasted pita, or an assortment of vegetable sticks. This cool and refreshing yogurt dip has a secret ingredient that makes it super creamy with the delicious taste of caramelised onions.
To make the Caramelized Onion Dip Recipe, you will need:
2 tbs olive oil
2 large onions
salt to taste
1 tbs brown sugar
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 cup thick (Greek style) yogurt
2-3 tbs mayonnaise
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
lemon juice to taste
1/4 tsp black pepper
salt to taste
garnish with freshly cracked black pepper, parsley (or chives), caramelized onions.
You can serve the onion dip at room temperature, or you can store it in the fridge until completely chilled for the most refreshing and cooling yogurt dip. If you love French Onion dips or Greek yogurt dips, then you will surely love this caramelized onion yogurt dip.
