RBW has solid instrumentalist assets and so this pre-debut having rock elements makes sense. I expect a stage with Purple Kiss and Onewe soonish. This might be the first time I pretty much agreed with everything you said. lol Thanks for dismissing the Dreamcatcher comparison. My feelings too but everyone mindlessly goes there just cuz of the rock elements as tho if you're a kpop gg and you do rock you must be Dreamcatcher wannabes. Neither the song nor their style gives me Dreamcatcher vibes. Coming from RBW you automatically know they can sing but their dancing was the biggest surprise. Good observation that it was gender neutral, like what Moonbyul did on Eclipse. Even girly members like Jieun who supposedly aren't part of the dance line were powerful and athletic. Overall this pre-debut is way more powerful and polished than anything I saw in their trainee days or their teasers and I'm very excited to see the 2nd pre-debut song, which I hear is going to be completely opposite from this one. When they get Swan back to complete the vocal line they're going to kick some serious gg ass.
I'm glad they dismissed the immediate Dreamcatcher comparison and acknowledged the many other genres they touched on... but there's no denying that the rock element is "somewhat" reminiscent of DC and that's not a bad thing. The day we get more groups with rock as their base sound, the comparisons might stop, but the fact there's close to zero aside Dreamcatcher is what allows this comparison .I do see how it can be annoying, same as with "Dreamcatcher sounds like anime opening" comments. They're still missing Swan, the other main vocalist. There's going to be another single with a different style. It's two pre-singles and then around January they'll debut for real!

I really liked this. Aside from the stellar showing from the members, this is one of those MVs where I feel the cinematography does a lot of the heavy lifting and really brings it up a notch.

The dark concept is still there, but it's a very different song from this one. Much more of a vocal focus and a more sentimental theme. Can't wait for debut.

Yep, u said exactly what I was thinking about. The whole thing with them being compared to Dreamcatcher is premature. Purple kiss did a kpop song with a bit of rock in it and like u said Dreamcatcher fully leans into rock and build their songs on top of thy base. Purple kiss has the usual girl rush vibe with rock.

I totally agree that this does not sound anything like Dreamcatcher. And I also don't think that they will go for a rock inspired group for Purple Kiss. But I believe and hope that they will still produce a unique sound which is different from the norm in K-pop.
