Exactly!!! I liked Ponzona but this is what made me stan them. The vocals are godsend, the choreography is so satisfyingly on point with the music, the rap parts sound so good, I don't have an ounce of complaint with this comeback. So freaking bop!

Actually that's Swan's voice she doesn't put emphasis on her voice and this is what I love about Purple Kiss is the fact that they all have different and unquie voices no one sounds the same or sounds familiar to each other
And i heard the mr removed. Swan is the most stable out of all mmber. Its show she got a great breathing technique and stamina to sustain stable vocal while also dancing to their choreo.
@@repz9190 the Mr removed was based on which performance? I don't trust the mnet ones. Swan is one of the best vocalists for sure. I think in general the most stable and with the best vocal projection is Chaein as we can see in their radio performances but Goeun and Swan are also really good

Me too. Which is not bad thing. Cuz black mirror is so catchy and funky af. Prolly the bass line and the disco feel make us remind of black mirror. But, the 2 song differ in genre. Black mirror is nu disco track. This is electro funk track as per goeun said in their highlight medley and article. Well. It is also pd and composed by same person, kim do hoon, their ceo. Funky and catchy song are his forte.

it reminded me of Black Mirror too, but still very different. This is such a good first comeback.
They both have a super funky bass line. They’re both written n produced by Kim Dohoon. These 2 songs even share the same choreographer. So it’s possible that there’s a few stylistic choices, musically or aesthetically, that are a bit similar. But I think they’re still two vastly different songs, despite a few similarities.
The rap parts were godly, like amazing. I just discovered who Yuki is, she's amazing!
Same! I didn't really notice the rapping in their debut, so I was blown away with this song. I'm glad they gave more significant, memorable parts to more members this time around.
And Yuki writes her own raps :)

YES Yuki is one of the best 4th gen rappers, her command over her flow is always so sick, in every song that i've heard her rap in. she's not just some random gg idol who was made the rapper because nobody else wanted to do it, she's clearly serious about this and has put a ton of work in, and it shows. she really knows what she's doing with her flow, she knows where to hit on certain syllables so well, and she switches it up mid-part often, it's great.
Yes! she gives me Exy vibes and it's only her first comeback, I can only imagine how much she'll grow
A big yes!!! For a lot of gg comebacks and debuts this year, I felt that most of the raps were just unnecessary or felt out of place, however Yuki’s raps really fit with the song and everything was just utterly amazing this cb.
It blows my mind with how saturated the music industry that we’re still able to come out with songs so rich, catchy and satisfying. Purple kiss’ sound so damn good here. It’s only the first comeback and they’re already in their element.

I've been waiting for PD's reaction on this. PURPLE KISS are quickly becoming one of my favorite groups, mainly because I sort of started my journey with them pre-debut, but along with that I've seen them just get better and better. ZOMBIE, I feel, is a statement saying that they aren't a fluke and that they are the future. For PD to give it this much praise when we all know he's not afraid to give his genuine opinions and analysis means a lot.

I think Zombie sits at the same table with Somi's Dumb Dumb and ironically, Sunmi's You Can't Sit With Us. For some reason I just love listening to them together. (also I'm loving the sudden trend of 00s inspired fashion for girl groups, it's all very Mean Girls and Clueless)

Ponzona is a masterpiece but Zombie is just a fun and funky bop that you could have on repeat and never get tired of
If this were in English I could see this being on Dua Lipa's last album. The quality is INSANE.
One thing I really like about this song is how the pre chorus almost sounds like it's trying to put you in this psychedelic trance with the distortion of the background vocals and how it slows down creating this slurring feeling almost like you're stumbling around (like a zombie) before that chorus just hits you like BAM. Just a thought of mine

The lyrics in that part say something like "my body gets lazy" so I think that's why they slowed the song down in that part
and then they hit u with the “ai, kkamjagiya!”
@@robertobrien3886 actually, the song doesn’t slow down at all! Which I think makes the prechorus even more amazing since it was able to shift the mood of the song in a way that didn’t feel out of place or change the pace.

The guy you maybe recognised because it was CyA from Onewe, he was involved in the writing of this song which is why he cameos at the end. Also, Purple Kiss are just gonna keep getting better and im super excited for their future, even more so than i was before.
This song is soooo catchy. I haven't heard much of them but holy shit their vocals in this song. That combo of the higher vocals, that RAP and then that huskier slower bit before the chorus... WTF.

I love the way even though song stucks in your head after first listen, it doesn't become annoying earworm but it's enjoyable (the entire album is brilliant tbh, no bias)

PK has not one but TWO of the best 4th gen vocalists in Swan and Goeun, one of the best rappers in Yuki, aces with Dosie and Chaein, an amazing dancer with Ireh, and a complete visual and awesome all rounder with Jieun! Love them!!
Zombie > Ponzona.
Zombie is funky, retro, fun to listen to. It had multiple killing parts, from the "zombie biebiebiebie" part to Yuki's rap, to "Oh, you got me!" cute part before the chorus. Then the chorus hits and from there it gets even better. The brdige is fantastic and the last chorus is SOOOO good. Definitely an 11/10 for me. The mini is also very very good, my favorite bsides are "so Why" and "Twinkle", but "2am" is fantastic too.
I definitely prefer Ponzona and Into Violet over Zombie and Hide & Seek, but I'm not at all disappointed. I think this is a great first comeback, and while I like Ponzona more as a song, I think Zombie definitely has a better mv. I love this whole album too, it's just that Period, Skip Skip, and Heart Skip a Beat are all among my favourite songs of the year.
I also am happy they established right away that they won't be pigeon-holed to one concept or sound with this comeback, which I think is important, even though I personally prefer the darker concept.

This song felt like a marriage of that 70s trend in current Kpop (which I absolutely love) and Will Smith's Big Willie Style album. Weird, I know, but that's where my mind went and I have this song on repeat.

Right when I heard Zombie I got so excited. It's so different from the Kpop songs that are coming out right now. The whole look of it suits the song perfectly. It is just amazing. I really hope more songs like this come out, they are so necessary

Honestly this is probably one of my fave comebacks of 2021, zombie is absolute masrerpiece along with the album. Cast pearls before swine and twinkle are among b-sides my favourite i can't stop listening to them

Very that. I expected them to have a comeback earlier this year but having this quality feels exactly right. The stage to which the song, video and choreo has been developed hits just the right spot between innovative and professional. I am beyond glad for Purple Kiss that this comeback hits that hard because it doesn’t only put them on the map, it puts Purple Kiss right on the bloody top. Outstanding.
I feel like when it comes to big companies, debuts are very important since many are used to getting quality songs, while the comeback is usually different so they can show versatility. When it comes to these smaller groups, I think the debut's purpose is to catch your attention while the comeback is meant to show what direction they're wanting to go in. As well as build more on the foundation they made on debut. "Ponzona" was a killer debut, but "Zombie" is definitely what I think they're trying to go for.
I'm glad they comeback with zombie. They are versatile and can do so many concepts. If their 1st cb is dark again like ponzona their image among kpop fans will only be doing dark concepts. When their 2nd cb is different it's already too late to change and some fans who only like when they do dark concept will be disappointed or stop supporting them. Pk don't put themselves in a box because they can do everything!
this instantly became one of my favorite songs released this year after the first listen. I'm looking forward to what the future holds for this group. They have so much talent to show us.

I really love the vocal part of the chorus much more so than the "zombie bie bie" part -- I'm really just a sucker for vocals. The song really took all the chance it had to catch the viewers' attention and I love it.

this is far and away the best gg release of the year so far for me! i know some people expected them to stick with their more intense concept and i DO love that side of them and hope we get more rocky purky in the future specifically, but also this was SUCH a fun new side of them. also you can tell how much fun they have on stage with this song and that makes it extra enjoyable!!

I thought the same thing with their debut song. It was fine, I saw that they definitely had potential, and Zombie just completely blew away my expectations.

Im obsessed with this song and Purple Kiss now!! I wasnt expecting this at all its amazing! Also just learned that Cya from Onewe was the guy who fainted at the end of the mv!! I love RBW family they have amazing talented artists and all of their groups are beautiful! Onewe and Oneus have become my ults and now Im gonna have to stan Purple Kiss and Im usually not into girl groups but theyre so different I love their sound and the whole album was really good it seriously surprised me.

i agree with ur saying that "there are some kpop songs which u only feel the party starts when the rap comes in (Yuki's rap)", and i would like to add in that "there are some kpop songs which u felt like a pail of cold water being poured onto u when the rap starts" ..... i guess this is what differentiate between a good and not so good kpop rapper ....
I've said this so many times but the album it's perfect.... Each and every song is their own color and perfectly mixed.. The vocals don't over power the Instrumentals or are blocked by the genius of the production that is this album as a whole

When I listened to their first album into violet, I was hooked, and I was just waiting and waiting for their comeback, and man it exceeded my expectations. I love this group so much and it kind of sucks how not well known they are, but I hope this blows them up!

It's a very catchy song, the only thing I didn't like was how the lines were distributed. On the bsides, Jieun, Ireh and Dosie show that they have a good vocal and I don't understand why they still hide them in the title song.

@@yesntseren Just to add, title tracks aren't usually chosen till all the recording is completed. So it could just be dumb luck that the best sounding track has a worse distribution.

Jieun barley has 10 seconds in any of the bsides. I think it's such an issue. It's not balanced for Dosie and Ireh either but not as worse. But they still have a lot of time to prove them

i needed three to four listens to get into the song, but i love it now.

all the writer credits make me really proud, they had so much fun and pulled it off so well, so in the end, although i needed to adjust myself to it, its an amazing comeback.

Based on pre-debut and debut songs I did not expect Zombie for their first comeback. I am very pleasantly surprised though. The song is very catchy, and I like the aesthetic for the mv. There is something I can't put my finger on that makes the whole thing so right, maybe it boils down to production. I am also glad that, as was mentioned, they are not being pigeon-holed early on. PK has the potential to do so much.
