Ah, I have this exact model in my small collection.
I always enjoy watching your videos, thanks.
My first motor was a 1947 wizard. It was either 6 or 7.5 HP.
I have felt sick for decades for selling it to a friend for 5 bucks because I couldn't get it to start one day. I was an ignorant teenager, lol.

From 1975 till about 1990, we had this same year of motor. It was a tough little Cookie. It was submerged at WOT when I flipped the boat while running it. It was seriously Overheated once, because some Weed Strings blocked the passage between the Exhaust Snout and the Water Pump. It was also run with no Oil in the gearcase for a few Days, that required all the internals needing replacement. I also managed to break the Gearshift Lever off. Good Little Engine

This is the stuff that made OMC great. I would put this engine up against any stupid four stroke, just as smooth and quiet, and will idle like that all day.

I recently also bought a '64 Fisherman. Still have to go through it, but it's a nice well cared for motor. Yours is ticking like a clock, looks like you saved another sweet 5.5! Do you know if BRP already fixed the points problem? Take care Ben

I don’t know if they did or not! I still have more than 200 sets of the problem ones but I can make them work!
