  • Are women attracted to Ford Mustangs?
    We're going to find out in this social experiment that features 10 single women, 10 single men, and their 10 different cars.
    The non-enthusiast women rate each car based on how attractive it would be in a potential date. Which car will they rank the highest, and lowest?
    THIS VIDEO ANSWERS QUESTIONS LIKE:
    Do women like loud exhaust sounds?
    Do girls like big sound systems like the Mach 1000?
    Do women care about the special edition of this Mustang?
    Do girls like Mustangs?
    (And at the end of the entire series...)
    What kind of car can a man drive that women would be most attracted to?

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  3 роки тому +3

      Several of them DO comment on the classic Mustang vs the new one here, and I think as far as getting their ATTENTION goes, you're right.
      HOWEVER-
      Stay tuned for the DeLorean episode in a few weeks. That's the oldest car here, and there ARE downsides to older cars that the women are certainly aware of.

  • @joshuaherbert8347

    The first thing wrong with trying to attract women with this car; it has the paint scheme a senior citizen would pick. Maroon exterior and tan interior? It screams "I'm collecting social security and just drew from my 401k to buy this".

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah they didn't seem super hot on the colors. "Maroon" is apparently seen as an "Old man's color", as is a tan interior.
      But that's really FORD's choice more than anyones! That's what they picked for the 40th Ann edition.

    • @joshuaherbert8347
      @joshuaherbert8347 3 роки тому

      @@RetroCarsForever It also came in white and black. I would of picked black. Studies show women prefer men drive black cars or trucks. "Crimson Red" aka Maroon with Tan interior was likely the least attractive option he could of picked considering the interior colors came in every more choices, black with black leather would of likely been a far more popular choice with women.
      On a further note; I drive a new edge mustang myself and would never think twice about not buying this car with this color scheme unless the price made it a real deal.

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  3 роки тому

      @@joshuaherbert8347 All good points! The owner preferred this color, I think, because it was the color scheme used in all the promo material for it (some of which you can see in this video).
      You'll be able to see if black on black works best with THESE women in the future BMW episode, as that's a black on black car. In any case, I was looking for a wide mix of colors for these 10 cars to see if there were any clear preferences either way.

    I recently bought a 1998 Mustang GT with a fully rebuilt 4.6 liter V8 with a cold air intake, 5 speed manual, flowmaster exhaust, horsepower tuner, needs some interior cosmetic work but nothing too bad but it's been a neck breaker ever since I got it. The paint is two-tone dark grey and purple with purple and silver metal flake in both colors, it's clearcoated, has hood pins and a large scoop with a working heat extractor at the back of the hood. The outsides of the hood are grey metal flake and it transitions to purple right at the scoop, has Chrome painted OEM Cobra R wheels. It all shines so good in the sun and certain streetlights. The entire interior of the car is black with leather seats, really comfortable but when women say it's like a family car, their minds would change when you try to put kids in the back seats. Hardly any leg space in the SN95 and new edge Mustangs. Everybody thinks I spend over 10k on the car but I paid $3,800 for it and it's been doing great so far. They're great cars if you take great care of them and maintain it as they should be.

      I no longer own my Bullitt (and I'm not single anyways!)
      It might've done a tad better but not by much, ditto for the Cobra.
      I was super happy to have this clean example of another special edition, even if the women didn't care for it.
      Also the Mach 1000 provided a lot of interesting responses, and that's SUPER hard to find!

      Part of this was finding single guys I knew and trusted and seeing what car they owned that was presentable and mostly stock.
      This owner fell nicely into that category, and his car had several unique features that I thought would be interesting to get the women's thoughts on.
      Such as- The 40th anniversary package, the unique colors inside and out, and the Mach 1000 stereo system.
      Mission accomplished!

      @@RetroCarsForever I get your point, but I still think that it's not a typical Mustang, and I don't mean that in a good way. I'm sure I'm not alone in that thought. BTW, I have a 2018 Mustang GT. :)

      @@RetroCarsForever Bro, my point is that it's 2021. You could have picked a more recent model to use. It's not a fair comparison because you aren't going to see many from the time of that Mustang on the road these days. It's like asking what girls think of a guy driving a Pontiac Fiero or a Honda S2000? There isn't enough of either on the road to make that comparison.

      @@thullraven1 I getcha, but I was also going for a broad range of years in this test.
      From the 1982 DeLorean up to the new Honda Civic (which was sort of a "control" of this experiment).
      Plus, the focus of my channel is less on newer cars anyways, so Id rather focus on cars from the 2000s than brand new.
      And there are still a TON of these SN95s/New Edges on the road today. Keep in mind they sold DOUBLE the amount of these Mustangs than they have the newer ones.

    mustangs between 2005 and 2009 are only bought by people who don’t know anything about cars… they are crap and have horrible handling.

    • @RetroCarsForever
      @RetroCarsForever  9 місяців тому +1

      Wow, they're really that bad? Never driven one but I've owned a few earlier Mustangs and found their handling a little ponderous, especially the live rear axle that liked to move all over the place.
      I thought they'd get a lot better with the panhard bar or watts linkage or whatever they put to quell that live rear axle in the 2005s.

      @@RetroCarsForever so I’ve owned a 2001 and a 2007 the 2001 in high school and the 2007 much later and yeah for whatever reason they slid and are bad on the handling, it feels like a Honda pilot how the constantly want to tip over and stuff so I actually was up late one night and watched your c4 buyers guide and I bought a c4 1987 corvette lol 😂, but yeah the 2004 and back seems good the 2005-2009 model years idk what happened but they just suck on handling.

      @@NyxJinxxx Interesting! Ive never driven those later Mustangs at speed but I've owned a 1994 GT and a 2001 Bullitt...The Bullitt was a decent handler, the 1994 GT was pretty sloppy.
      Perhaps the later cars are bigger/heavier, and they have way worse visibility, so I could see them feeling big and ponderous in a way that the SN95 wasn't.
      In any case, I'm sure you've found the C4 to be a much better handler than either Mustang generation!

      @@RetroCarsForever Your funny, I live in the real world woman like kid wagons. What is the first thing to go when the kid comes? Get rid of that car, where are we going to put the baby? Next is anything else they don't like and that is all the things you had before them. I know that won't happen LOL you have so much to learn. The happiest guy is the one that doesn't care about what women think about their car or cars. Women that like cars don't dress or act like the ones you showcased. I'll show you some good looking women that like cars, but they surely wouldn't dress or act like them. The real test is what do they drive for their own car? If it's the same car every other woman drives you better pass or get ready to end your sports car days. Ever hear the saying look at the old guy in the sports car he's going thru a mid-life crisis? That not it, the real reason is he got his life back after all the kids have gone and the wife doesn't care anymore LOL.

      @@tcm2kd5000 All I'll say is when I set up this test, I was SPECIFICALLY looking for women who werent car enthusiasts.
      Women car enthusiasts are a rare breed...I'd say maybe 1 out of 100. So I wanted to feature non-enthusiasts to be more relevant to most women, AND because as car enthusiasts ourselves, I think it's great to hear about cars from a fresh perspective.
