I was considering either s23 or iphone 14 pro, as they are very comparable (i want s smaller phone) and decided to go with the s23, as it was almost twice less money and had even advantaged in some areas against the iphone. I haven't liked Samsung phones, but maan, they really killed it with this one. The display is amazing, the quality and feel and the Gorilla glas victus 2 on the back is incredible, it has 4.0 ufs storage which is twice as faster than the iphone one, not that you can feel it in everyday usage, but still.. The processor is another league. It is nearly as the a16 and better in GPU area. The camera is also very close to the iphone one and it is really a personal preferance as you say. Even midrangers nowadays do very good photos. Pixel sadly wasn't even in the picture for me. The tensor g2 just can't handle the big boys. And as always samsung offered pretty huge discount on preorder. It was released for 800USD for 128GB and I got mine from my mobile operator for 630USD, for the bigger 256gb and a fast charger included in the package. The iphone 14 pro was 1000USD without a charger... When you add the 5 years soft support. I know it is only 4 for the os and 1 is for security patches, but android has matured more than enough for one to want more features. Well done Samsung! Best device on the market. Also when you consider the fact that they have the better 8gen2 version, which will be released as 8gen+2 for the freemarket now.
I agree with all the points raised. I have the Pixel 7 and have had Pixels for several years. Samsung have caught up and surpassed Google in many areas and i now use the S23 Ultra as my personal device.
Yea, I still prefer the still images on the Pixel, but that on its own is not enough for me to stay as a Pixel user.
@@GeekyStuff i also find the screen has more saturation on the S23 Ultra. Not an issue until you have them side by side but the Samsung is much better for media consumption. I do agree with your comment about the Pixel camera and like you say, there isnt enough there to keep you as a Pixel user. Hopefully they up their game with the Pixel 8?

I switched from a 13pro and after a few months I’ve gone back to Apple. I missed lots of little things. S23U is a breast though
I also changed from Pixel 7 Pro to s23 Ultra. Same reasons. I would add even better personalization options, such as AOD. In pixel, I was annoyed by the large numbers in AOD and the inability to change it.

as much as I love the smart features on the Pixel 7 Pro, I'm so jealous of the amount of customisation options , deep native automations with Bixby Routines , GoodLock , manual camera controls and a whole lot more useful system settings on Samsung phones.
I have the base S23 and the S23 Ultra. I also have iPhone 13 as my secondary device and it is so smooth.
Just done the swap , agree with what you have said, I would say the pixel camera edges the S23 ultra, but it's close, all in all I'm really impressed with s23 ultra don't regret swapping, oh and another thing I noticed the resale values of pixel 7 pro here in the UK is trash

I'm glad I chose the s23 honestly I had nothing but problems with the 6a which was weird because my pixel 3 never gave me issues like the pixel 6a did. I'm assuming it has something to do with the tensor chipset but now on to the s23 ultra and this thing is a beast I tried staying away from Samsung because I was a one plus fan for a long time but they lost me after 9 pro and Verizon doesn't carry them either.

I also changed to s23 ultra from xiaomi much, much better love the new s23 ultra, for me battery it's the most important thing and also I love the spen
I love the channel. I have a P7P and am seriously considering changing to a s23 ultra. Two questions: Is the 8 gb memory limiting? The P7P has 12. Also, what are your thoughts about 256 vs. 512 storage? (I love the red kit of your team; I just wish it was a different team's red. LOL) Cheers.
I have 8/256gb and haven't noticed any hiccups at all. But I don't use it for gaming and don't take a lot of videos.
The s23 ultra also has a 12gb version if you get the 512 storage option.
that is what I am asking all the time... is 8gb enough.. I was not able to find that info anywhere...
@Ivaylo Iliev yeah I think it won't be noticed for day to day use because it's the same ram just more of it for multitasking and heavy app loads. But if you don't upgrade devices every year I'd go for the 512gb model just to have the extra storage and ram but I don't think you'll notice much a difference aside from how many apps you have or what multi tasking you are are doing at once.
As a s23 ultra user take the 12 gb ram one. In my case free available ram is mostly 4 gigs and its good for future proofing as well.

My Samsung phones have been more reliable than my pixel phones so far. My p7p is slowing down in 90 F heat, it cant hack the increasing summer heat, I'm really starting to contemplate getting an s24 ultra next year. But I will make that decision when the Pixel 8 pro comes out, just in case google makes massive strides in processor power, efficiency, and battery life in the tensor 3 chip. I love googles cameras except for the video quality and selfie camera quality. The rapid voice transcription is a feature I value a lot and I wish Samsung had rapid voice transcription like pixel phones do.
What about the S-pen.! I think it's an extra fantastic tool you can't find it on any smart phone

I have the S23 Ultra but I'm actually using the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion. I don't like the look of the pictures coming from the S23 Ultra sometimes, they get extremely tinted with yellow
turn off scene optimizer in camera settings for natural looking pics.
I'll tell you more mate:
1. Battery protection mode
2. Smaller more convenient toggles in the notification shade
3. Edge panel
4. Software updates 4 years, not 3
5. Smaller S23
6. No shattering camera lens
I'm a long term Pixel user myself but I like this year's Samsungs better

The battery protection mode is genius. Only when I'm traveling I turn it of.

Wow! And here I thought only several iPhone users/fans were convinced to switch entirely to the S23 Ultra. I never expected that several Pixel users/fans were enamored to switch to it as well.
I have both and struggle to accept the a23u over the p7p. True, the screen, modem, battery are all better on the sammy. But comparing pics, the Sammy is just trash to the pixel. I've taken numerous photos with scene on and off and the details are garbage. That's why i struggle to switch. If i want to take a pic i want it right, not trash. And Samsung still hasn't fixed pics of moving objects like animals. They really need to come out with a camera upgrade instead of adding more megapixels. It's all software, as Google proves

Switched from 13 Pro Max, no regrets except for pictures with moving objects in darker scenes

What exactly is work of art with the iphone?
Probably ease of operation, smoothness of OS and third party apps, camera is up there and iOS.

as a Samsung Note enthusiast, i must say: its good, not awesome. battery life is as lame as at any other Note. camera is really good, but at 100x its lame too.
