The "I have never read LOTR" bit kills Ally, the "I'm not a fan" fucking double-taps them and literally sends them to the floor. I cannot stop rewatching it.
It's even more evil that Ally and Oscar tied, cause for that alone it meant he technically got all three positions: last place, second place AND first place. And I love it
If you watch the full episode and pay attention to the kind of moves Brennan was making towards the end it seems like he was actually going for 2nd place (in other words, the win), he just maintained character. Which does spoil the joke a bit ngl, but it's just so Brennan to go for the win even if he hates the game.
I think that at some point they should make an episode Brennan is super good at, and he’d just constantly be on edge from assuming something would go wrong, but it’s just a normal game for once
What's most interesting is that in a strange way, it works. By Brennan ALWAYS trying his hardest to win, it forces second place to also try their hardest. Therefore, everyone is giving it their all during these games.
not true, look at the pie eating contest. oscar and ally were only trying to be a bit better than the other, only trying to avoid last, so they didn't have to try nearly as hard as brennan
@@theductductgoose If either of them had tried harder, they would've been guaranteed victory. It does work! The Incentive is there to do almost as good as Brennan, which means giving it everything you've got.
@@RamschatThis logic is predicated on the idea that their best would not exceed Brennan. This is quite possible, but it is still an assumption. It is also possible that they could try their best, and then come in first, and thus not win.
Ally's response to the look on Brennan's face when Oscar won the vintage LOTR box set and declared that he's never seen it or read the books is priceless!
The episodes where Sam JUST makes a thing to fuck with Brennan will always be low-key my favorite episodes of Gamechanger. Well... Those and the Noise Boys episodes, but those are off in their own series now, lmao.
My favorite thing about this is that Ally and Oscar were tied for first - effectively tied for second as a result - but it's so much funnier to give it to Brennan
Yeah, in most other situations I see them give the person who didn't tie third place, because they are the third highest scoring person, but I love how they chose to give the win to Brennan because it made him even more angry.
He came in first, second, _and_ third here. First because he won, second because the other two got first, and third because he had the fewest points between the three contestants
Watching Brennan's speeches made me realize something. When he gets older, he would be great with his own kid's show with a Mr. Roger's vibe to it. He's got a real wholesome streak in him that could be super beneficial to kids.
There was a scene cut where he did give more detail - he broke a tooth in a hot dog eating contest, he got the mixed up at first. The water was too cold for the heat of the hot dogs and it broke one of his teeth.

I have seen, at the gym I frequent, member's who go there and try just enough, I have seen those who do almost nothing, I have seen members who *actually* do nothing, and I have seen members who struggle and push themselves to a degree that warrants a standing ovation for the dedication of will and physical effort. I am proud of all these people because they put aside the time out of their day in the pursuit of self-improvement. I would like to say that I am particularly proud of one member. She and a professional body builder were there at the same time and the difference between their approach was vast. While the body builder went through the motions and casually strolled from one location to the next, she moved with purpose. As he went through his sets with a bored expression, the look on her face was fierce and focused. As sweat ran down her face, she saw only the goals that she had set for herself and the struggle that it would take to achieve them; a struggle she was determined to meet head-on. She would come in and try her best *every single time* and, for that, I salute her.
The fact that the game was "don't try your hardest" and made that the point of the game but Brennan still tried his hardest and won is the most amazing twist in game changer
You know Brennan's brain is melting when he addresses the camera directly and angrily every 5 minutes 😂 Also, head canon: Sam wanted to make up for Brennan not getting a crown in "Yes or No?", so he RIGGED THE GAME FROM THE BEGINNING so that Brennan would win by losing/being second.
