  • I've been thinking about changes in Lost Ark for awhile now, but I decided to ask if I could change one thing about the design, what would it be? That's the topic of this video.

    -A raid sweep/skip method for alts. Doing raids a few times can give a ticket to skip that raid in a week when you cannot play, or you just want a break. Even better to be roster wide, obtaining them on high level chars and able to use on lower level to support them, or "tag" a lower char to another and they auto-clear that raid(if possible) and get (maybe partial) rewards when the higher clears a raid.
    -In-game raid guides for new players with main mechs explanations. Not on raid release, but some time after.
    -And of course, the upgrade system: the ceiling for pity is too damn high - maybe every 3/6 months slightly increase the rate for artisan energy so people who invested early don't feel cheated

    For me, I'm beginning to despise playing my bottom 3 characters, but top 3 are a ton of fun. Either make it to where I can do more raids per char(still 18 total) or make solo raids provide a decent amount of gold so I can just do those on bottom 3.

    18 raids a week cap sucks. Lower it down 6-9 and remove the cap on rewards for one character so you can do more than 3 on one if you want or across your roster.

      How would that work though? You can repeat the same raid as many times as you want on any given character or if you want to do all raids on the same character you'll have to do lower-end raids that have lesser rewards?

      @@veckgamesbecause it gives you the option to choose between playing multiple characters or just doing it all on one. I think they should buff gold values you earn to compensate

    I would make a single change: You can do raids more than once and get rewards more than once if they are done on a single character. This way people who hate alts can play a single character and be able to get the same amount of resources they'd get if they had x6 characters. Dunno how to implement it, but being able to get the same rewards on a single character that you would get only by playing 6 would make it better for most casual players.

      Yeah, there is a lot of resonance here in the comments about playing a single character/less characters and less weekly raids. It would be a very hard battle to implement. Say you could get the same rewards on a character. Then people who have the 6 characters would be mad they spent all their gold to push characters up. People often talk about wanting rested raids, and I think that's still like only a partial solution. This is a situation of I don't think you can please both parties and would have to find a compromise to meet them both half way.

    Wouldn't making all mats (including shards) roster bound be the easiest solution to this problem? Obviously there are reasons this will never happen along with your other suggestions, but this seems like it would be the most feasible way to solve this problem.

      To a degree, yeah. It wouldn't fix all the gold, spent on honing, and all the other power systems. It would still be a welcomed change though to ease up the pain of switching on characters though for sure.

    Lmao that doa random clip 😂 the game needs a full reset and a total rethinking of how all these systems work and why it feels like a job. But it's never gonna happen so I gave up on that. If I could change only one thing I'd probably delete supports lol. Every time I try to get back into the game it's impossible to find supports so I can't even play the game.. I've tried playing supports myself and I'd rather not play the game, it's so boring.... Akuma is very fun btw. Also shogun was 10/10 would watch again. So much time for activities without lost ark😅

      I can't laugh when I see that clip. I forgot how absurd DOA has gotten beyond clinically horny. But yeah, Power system bloat is real, SG is on crack for thinking there is no shortage just because the perfect ratio exist for like the peak of KR. I still don't enjoy SF6 though, but Shogun was great.

    Triple gold on raids or reduce anything that costs gold to a 1/3 it currently is at. Only 2 can earn gold now. Less homework, less gold sinks for those who want to play as much as "required" to get the most out of raid gold. More time for experienced players to teach new players, less urgency to get through raids. Makes the game more player friendly. You want to play 6 or more characters you can, but up to you.

    I honestly think the worst thing is probably an obvious one. The thing that has broken being able to pug well on alts is the lack of a proper pity system in elixers and trancendance.
    On your topic you would change i don't view it that bad yes it sucks but its just a byproduct of the way you want to play the game ( would be cool because i play the game the same way as you just don't view it as a priority)

      I also want this I run my main for like an hour through all the raids and then it's just gaurdians and chaos dungeons for the rest of the week x.x

    Oh look, that guy was replying to me lol. It sucks for him since the class he mains is (EO?) SF and I get wanting to swap to something WAY less demanding.
    I agree that getting alts up or being able to swap would be one of the bigger non-rmt related issues I'd fix as well. But with swapping, I kind of see the game being oversaturated with soul eaters, with a sprinkle of slayers and a dash of breakers in there which leads to problems around the synergy system you love so much. 😏
    Personally I think they just need to make express-like honing permanent up until 1580 or maybe 1600, and progressively grow higher as more content comes out. I'd want up to 1620, but I don't think they'd go that far. Oh and make story express the norm too.

      Yeah, like I had this conversation with someone already actually. I don't think that we shouldn't let people have the option to switch just because the synergy system is ass. If anything I think that if everyone actually meta changed, it would actually make SG consider making more meaningful changes to balance(3% buff om) and systems. My belief is that it is completely up to them to lessen the gap and make the other classes more appealing. While perfect balance is possible, people will accept and be happy competitive balance vs classes that that get gatekept on sight by most players. I just don't like the idea of people feeling held hostage by their investments on a character. (Every Glaiver Main basically since they all say they preferred the nightmare playstyle but still play with the class entropy instead of dropping it)

      I mean I did say I was for it, but I see other issues it would cause as well that would need to be addressed. Whatever makes people happy I'm for it, as long as it doesn't actively harm others.

    I'd change the 6 mains thing. There is no alt system in this game, they are all mains. You do the same progression on all your "alts". Let one character rosters have the option to do the 18 raids a week as well. Stop forcing new players and veterants to interact with shitty systems like cutting stones, building accessories, gems, honning 6 times. No wonder game's dying You got like 10% new player retention. This won't end well.

    I hate job system !! I hate every character can do everything system , it make everything bland and meaningless.
