Today, I found a highly modified Porsche 996 Turbo in a storage locker and traded it for my old Bentley Continental GT. It has some of the best additions I've ever seen, and some of the most questionable. I'm going to need some help.

@@ericsson_motorsports I can see it too. It's because they are idiots.
I honestly love the 996 turbos. Especially the gt2
If it was not for the headlights alone it would be loved like any other 911.its still a 911,maybe better than some of the later models.the newer are wider, although handle great, but are now more gt cars than small, nimble,go carts they once were.

Actually Porsche is a very is car to work , I mean it’s easier than most cars in its class if not all of them. People just hear the name Porsche and look at the price tag and automatically assume that it is a crazy car to wrench on but you will be surprised how easy a lot of these cars are to wrench on.
@@Itsmeyourbuddyguy they are pretty easy to work on
Found a post online about a prospective buyer - In a later post he says "it has CMW pistons and gt3 crankshaft. The build was done by Svoboda Motorsports in Miami FL"
www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/411954-help-advice-possible-996-purchase.html
Pistons looks similar to this kit here: jwmotorsportsracing.blogspot.com/2011/10/j-motorsports-996-engine-work.html
Daniel Duperouzel i knew that car looked familiar
Why didnt anyone put this comment on the top he needs to see this
@@nolimitrc1 Let him figure it out
Great info. It looks like Svoboda Motorsports isn't around anymore. I wonder if anyone is familiar with them or their builds.
@@tavarish Judging by a video on UA-cam, Svodoba is someone's name and he may work for the JW Motorsports company I linked to above.
They say it’s impossible to find these cause you buy them all
That pretty much sums up the situation
Those pistons are for high rpm and strong combustion. "Normal" pistons usually tilt a little bit. In your case these pistons are designed to withstand the tilt because the pressure will be mostly in this deepening. So the pressure is centered and not on the edge of the piston. Those pistons are also used for the Urquattro from Audi.

I love how this guy has rebuilt two Lambos largely by himself and yet all the comments can do is roast him for getting help from Jared. 🤦♂️
Well, he took them to a load of different shops and got help for a lot of the at home stuff; now he's just brought that outsourcing in-house! To be fair, he is pretty skilled at electrics, but apart from that Tavarish's skills seem to be mainly in assembly, research, cleaning and coating with gold tape, and more so than anything else, business.

Will be watching this build with enthusiasm . That car, in that colour, in that interior, in that spec and with those wheels has been my dream car (showing my age). Congrats in finding such a rare and beautiful car.
The 996 in that spec is so beautiful
Also, the K24 18G modified X50 turbos were good for 715whp on a stock bottom end. I had one and tracked it quite a bit. This cars mods should support 850-900chp with the right turbos. The 24/18 spooled very quick with minimal lag. This car could probably support something quite large if you're going to go through the engine and make sure it's fresh. I've owned a half dozen big hp 996 and 997 P cars. You got a good one to start with. That 4.0 is no joke, might see 4 digit HP numbers. Reach out to BBI, they've built the monster HP cars.
The 996 Turbo was a dream car when it came out when I was a kid. Hell it is still on my top 5 list. Amazing find there and I can't wait to see what you do with it. Keep up the great content Tavarish.
Good find! That's a great chassis and engine. The gearboxes usually need to be rebuilt and upgraded but not a biggie. I had a few clients with the Alpha 10 kits and they are almost too fast for the street. Hopefully it already has a good short shifter in it and while you're in there delete the clutch accumulative setup and convert it to the GT3 setup it's way better! Can't wait to see more!

Omaze is literally a scam, please stop advertising for them. Omaze Only donated about 5% of the money to charity. In fact, in some states, Omaze is 100% illegal.
Holy shit. I’ve never heard of them doing that. Where’d you hear that?
It's gambling
where's your source tho ?
from their website. "When you contribute $10 for the chance to win a celebrity experience (set visit, dinner date, tickets to a premiere, etc.), $6 is donated to charity, $2.50 on average goes towards marketing expenses and credit card fees, and Omaze nets the remaining $1.50. A $10 contribution for the chance to win a prize-based experience (like a car, vacation or tuition) breaks down as follows: $1.50 is donated to charity; $7 typically goes to sourcing and shipping the prize, covering the winner’s taxes, marketing the experience, and processing credit card fees; and $1.50 goes to Omaze. These experiences require substantially more resources to secure the prize and help spread the word."
It's not a scam, it's just gambling. There's tons of prize companies like this, and yes, depending on local laws, sometimes this kind of gambling is illigal, but in most places it's fine with the correct gaming licence.
Finally a Porsche in your garage!!! I am very happy for you and live vicariously through your channel, keep the goodies coming!!

3 mating surfaces per head, sitting for 3 years, leaking oil already, unsure what is in it. you should pull the engine tear it down and replace the seals and all hoses then you know what is in it and you know the seals and hoses are good.

One of the best 911 Turbos ever. Bulletproof engine pretty much on the Turbo car and the handling was exceptional. One of the last of the drivers 911 Turbos made.
looking forward to your future reports. Could be spectacular. I have a 996Turbo, with larger turbos, other mods, and ECU remap. Puts out 580BHP.
This is one of those engines that would benefit from being removed, and given a really thorough go-over.
If it makes 700 HP, it will need plenty of maintenance.
