Another great production. Added bonus appearance by Huey. I haven't had venison for decades when local hunters shared it with neighbors back in Michigan.
Huey is the treat for viewers who watch to the end of some of these videos! I need to include him far more often!
Hey, grilling burgers is always messy. So I use soapstone. It's seasoned now after severals days of usage. No more wasting meat.
Hi Gerry , I like Venison burgers but I add some pork mince about a 1/3 , this adds a little fat and helps them to stop sticking , it also helps reduce the gamely taste . Keep up the good videos . Best wishes from the UK
Thanks for the tip! When looking up ways to prepare the venison I did find several instances where people mixed in pork like you suggest: to reduce the gamey taste and the added fat helps with flavor and not sticking so much. I just decided I wanted to see what it would be like straight up!
I forgot to tell you to put more Lea & Pearins Worsh yer sister sauce and a little bit of A-1 steak sauce and your burgers will be delicious and not gamey tasting , I personally don't like Mayonnaise on my Venison of Elk burgers ! I'm eating some right now and will be making more this weekend . Thanks for the videos and Tips !
You can make some really good sausages by mixing/grinding deer meat, pork fat, sage, thyme, and fennel. Great Breakfast sandwich or with pancakes.
I love the gamey taste and will try this on my Kamado grill . Thanks for the recipe and if you don't want the rest of the Venison burgers , I will gladly eat them for you . 😋
So I think the gamey taste must be a acquired. My wife didn’t even want to try it and by the third burger I was definitely warming up to it 🙂
Still not my fave to be honest, but I’m not as offended by it as my first bite in the video!
Maybe a little bit of Thyme would help too . I know you will definitely like the Bison Burgers . I like them all , thanks again and the videos !
Stunning Video and thanks' again for sharing once again. I would really stick with Olive oil for Beef and Burgers ! And use mayonnaise for chicken breasts' and Fish.
Thanks for watching. Good tip!
As you say very lean, some pork fat/ beef fat will help to stop the sticking on the grill also oil the grill will help.great to see game meat being used👍
Great tips! Thank you!
Hi Jerry, I actually never had this before, but if Huey likes it may be I should give it a go ...
Yeah but Huey is like that old Simpsons episode where Homer became a food critic and everything gets a rave review

Looks good but I am with you. I like all beef.......
As they said in the commercials back in the day: beef, it’s whats for dinner 🥩
Venison is very lean. The lack of fat is why it sticks to the grill. Always oil the grill well before cooking. Old school venison burgers were always better when you add a little beef fat and your butchers grinds it twice. More Flavor and less gamey as well. This advice is from those harvesting their own deer, skinning it, and taking it to a butcher. I know you big city folks think it just comes from the store. 😋 Try the Elk steak or burger. Very expensive meat and I think you see a big difference in taste.
Elk was my original idea for this video but the day I went to the store to buy/try it they were out!
Elk Tenderloin or Back Strap is the gold. Would make a great grill video!@@ChicagoGriller
