Kelly Starett - OMG - I had no idea how much I needed you in my life and how much I have missed you in my life subce the very early Mobility Wod Supple Leopard days, I still shudder when thinking back to the original 10 minute squat. My wife described you as They other man in her life’ Thanks for your knowledge, your time and caring enough to share this stuff. This is awesome! Great stretch for Tib posterior, FDL and FHL as they are lengthened both from from the dorsiflexion and additionally the eversion as they stem from that medial side of the leg passing through the tarsal tunnel. Amazing explanations. Your use of language is detailed while still very comprehensible. Great work my friend!
Whats interesting- when I do the rotation my foot will supinate and I’m not able to get that range to stretch the ankle. I’m trying to keep my foot down but I think my body has just adapted over the years. But gonna keep playing with this more :) thanks for this Kelly
For many year’s now; my specialist ‘had made “Two” Shoe inner stabilisers; Each differently in hight and width. I was informed to wear these permanently with everything “Shoes, Boots, Sandals, Slippers, Flip-Flops and Never walk Barefoot or without them. Due to my Right leg being shorter and Both feet different shape and size’s. I now suffer with Achilles heel in my Right Ankle “Causing immense Pain, Tightness, Stiffness and unable to bend foot or ankle as left side. I life with Fibromyalgia. Osteochandritis dessecans. Poor blood Circulation. Lower back pain. To name but a few. These conditions make it very hard, painful and difficult to Actively become less { Rogirmortis } and more Fluid in movement and overall more Flexable in body. Physiotherapy has never helped or been supportive. Your advice would be most appreciated 🙏
Same here. My left ankle is much more flexible than the right. And guess where all of my issues are, ankle pain, knee pain, back pain. All on the right side. I also feel a pinch on the front side of my ankle when trying do these kind of stretches, as if something blocks it from dorsiflexion
Thank you! I was looking for something to help in this position, so I might be able to run again, even walk again. After lots of running , football, and work, my feet, especially that of my lead leg, are rock solid. It's like walking with a pair of wooden blocks. Didn't they use such devices for slaves and prisoners? Ah, now I know why I am beginning to smell freedom, for as you suggest, it's our responsibility to start to use some of these end range movements, especially the main ones which we use, so as to improve our qulaity of life.
Taking so many pointers about squatting from TRS videos but sadly I continue to be nowhere near a squat rack because of corona 😫 ALSO: Those Reebok sneakers are SUPER sick, someone please help me find them. Edit: Found them www.reebok.com/us/club-c-85-men-s-shoes/EG6426.html Also use promo code SUMMER, they drop from $70 down to $50!
Any tips for a locked up bone on bone feeling around the talus when trying to get into these dorsiflexion positions? My left foot is fine, but on the right it feels physically locked by bones

what areas of our back foot should we be trying to put our weight on? The toes? The ball of foot?
👍 Voilà une idée de mobilisation qui va grandement m'aider. Je le teste dès demain.

Does anyone know where to get one of those adjustable blocks he’s using? Or what one is called? Many thanks.
Slant board. I bought mine from Amazon
Nice vid. I think I should wait for sprained ankle to heal b4 trying this
Xcllnt, thanks. Where do you get that wooden gizmo or do I need to make one?
I think it is called a wooden slant board. Not sure, looks the same when you google it.
@Adam Rockacy thanks!
Calf tear below the knee (above fst part of calf) is lack of dorsiflexion?
Very clever.
I am Sold! Thanks
Awesome information! Do you recommend high top or low sneakers and boots?? I feel like high top sneakers and boot restrict my ankle movements.
What causes metatarsalgia and what can cure it?
What if you have an existing ocd on the talus? How do you still teach proper movement even with injury.
Great content, would this be good for running?
What do to when it is difficult to bring the hip up? After a few second it gets better but is that also a mobility problem in the hip?
This is called the "deep calf" stretch and is a staple of all good Kendo dojo warm up exercises. At least wherever I have practiced...
Thank you
Did anyone else try to get up off the ground yesterday without using their hands? ... I fell down😜
Great tips, I will do this! 👍
Thanks, 👍
Great content man ! 👌😆
Which shoe is this?
This vid made me sub
Man! This is good
I didn't know how bad my mobility was until he put his foot on the dumbbell and I got nauseous because it looked to me like his ankle broke.
My right calf area is chronically tight due to driving (pushing the accelerator and brake pedals). This stretch would have to be done daily.

It sounds like you need to work and stretch the soleus muscles too, whilst seated. There are plenty of videos on UA-cam. Good luck!
I’ll give this a try...30 years of Soccer and then try to be a Olympic weightlifter at 6”3 😂😂 ankle mobility of the David statue.
Resolute Fitness soccer is so hard on the ankles! Any tips?
will this transfer to dorsiflexion in the squat ?
Worth wathcing AthleanX on UA-cam called Ankle Sprain Fix and Prevention -it seeks to improve squat depth.
@@nialloneill5097 thanx for the tip :)
@Adam Rockacy Thats good to know, thank you :)

There a number of UA-cam videos, but I especially liked this one by AthleanX, on UA-cam, called Ankle Sprain Fix and Prevention.
kelly starrett is the. best.
Olympic lifters don’t need their back foot in a split jerk to be flat on the ground
I bet Kelly listens to Pixies
