I am not a drummer, so I cant get technical into the subject. But - jeez - as a guitarist I say Chad it’s the most interesting drummer I can listen too. He is style is magnetic and never boring.
Precisely because you are not a drummer, your point of view is privileged: you listen instead of watching, you listen instead of analyzing the technical aspect. You welcome the musical result. The result, in fact, of a fluid and elegant technique and, above all, of the good taste of a musician playing with his mates.
@@giuseppebuscemi179Yeah, but "fluid and elegant" is basically EVERYONE from the school of "Spivac" (I can't remember his full name but he taught TONS of drummers, his first name was like "shelly" or something that is usually a girl's name but I can't recall) including Vinny Gulauta/Culiota/Gugliota LOL
Incredible!! I had the opportunity to see Allan back in 94 but completely forgot about the show that night due to life's many challenges we all go through but one of my friends was able to go and told me it was unreal watching him play. Allan and the band also hung out with the crowd after the show at the bar like you mentioned and was so humane and humble to all. Now that he has passed I regret that day I had the opportunity to see him.
So great seeing Holdsworth and Pasqua back together here. AP always knew how to play with AH just the right way. Tony Williams! Velvet Darkness! You can't go wrong.
@@rhmayer1 Truth!!!!! Alan is definitely hidden in the shadows of the well known greats but is responsible for some of the greatest fusion tunes out there! He is in my top five!!
Not to take anything away from Chad, but try the original '75 recording with Tony Williams. Great Alan Pasqua composition (who's also on the original recording).
Absolutely spot on!!! He is in the conversation with Beethoven and Coltrane in respect to how he revolutionized his instrument. We are blessed to have witness his greatness in our lifetime.

the stuff he did with zappa was unmatched

I was at this show.....and the club is called Yoshi's btw - had a glass of wine with Allan at the bar before the show too.
fucking lucky. What a rare moment for one to have.

Every Allan anecdote I ever read involves him drinking... Guy must have loved his liquids.

And Alan Pasqua knows the song inside and out, 'cuz he wrote it. Totally underrated keyboard player.

RIP Allan! ! your music will remain
A song of Tony Williams Lifetime Believe It. Chad plays nicely in Tony Williams style. 👍
That drummer straight murder that... I don’t think I’ve everything seen or heard such a rheumatic and pleasant sounding drum solo before!!!
Wackerman is a legend. Pretty much anyone who played with Zappa gonna kill it.

It's an all-round master piece! I think it means a lot to the guys in the band cause it goes way back in time. Mind blowing stuff!
Chad is nuts..
Beautiful !!!
What a band. Holdsworth was the greatest ever, a hundred years from now new guitar players will be listening to his music in astonishment.
Absolutely spot on!!! He is in the conversation with Beethoven and Coltrane in respect to how he revolutionized his instrument. We are blessed to have witness his greatness in our lifetime.
Such fluidity, an outstanding line up.
Amazing and again superamazing music! This is the real stuff, the real thing.
Real Music!!! Despite how much BAD Music is circulating today!!!
So grateful to see this show at Yoshi’s
Chad is two years younger than me, looks like Eli Manning...when Eli was 12. And btw...is frigging awesome.
Allan used to often start a live set with this number because he said it was relatively easy for him and the band to play. Yeah, OK.
Brilliant!!!!
Chad wackermans drumming style is perfect 4 this band, of all the drummers I've heard play with Allan Id say Chad's gotta b up there at the top
Wackerman and Donati worked best, couldn't agree more.
If you are watcing this alone in the middle of the night, then it's akin to watching porn, but within the domain of musicc : )
Yeah but the good porn.....not the sick nasty stuff
Alan Pasqua took that ish to another level.
rip
It's "Yoshi's," - not Yushi's.
I know right? Lmao
Ted te dad by Allen Holdsworth
Chat got that t-shrt from Old Navy!
