I've watched this series before and I'm 99% sure these are meant to be watched in order. The first video was supposed to be Tim Duncan, then Bird, then Magic.
He definitely made a conscious decision to have MJ and LeBron be the last two videos

Magic is a lucky guy for sure. HIV was a death sentence back then, but he was diagnosed as a "carrier" and never contracted AIDS, but the stigma around the disease was still very scary. It wasn't an easy decision for him to retire early but you have to look at how the liability of having someone play on the team that was HIV positive. We would have seen him shamed/shunned in the locker room and by the other teams on the court and even the NBA fans. Insurance companies wouldn't touch him, even if the team would let him play. Just because it was the 90s, it didn't mean the world grew up. The reason the NBA did so poorly in the late 70s was because the game was all fundamentals. Fancy players like Pistol Pete Maravich were relegated to The Jazz where his team couldn't keep up the support with his style. The teams that wanted to be contenders were recruiting more and more black players. That upset the fans. I saw a news interview where a white fan was discouraged from buying tickets to be Courtside because there were "too many black guys on the team." Part of the reason Bird got drafted by Boston, because it was a Boston fan that made that comment. The fact that Bird could compete with the superior black players with his "white boy style" won over the fans and it just supported their argument that there are white guys out there that can play and make them feel comfortable going to games. Yeah, racism was a factor in why the NBA wasn't winning over fans.

You know Magic only played 10 seasons before retiring with HIV, and in those ten seasons he went to NINE FINALS! and won 5 rings… he was drafted as the first over all pick to a lakers team that made the finals the year before he got there and had Kareem and Worthy, which who knows why they had the first pick..? So he was given as good a situation and team as any rookies ever been given, but still, he actually has an argument that can be made and is definitely in the top five, Bird while all time great and probably in the top ten despite starting his career late and retiring early and not having the stat totals most top ten would have, he and magic are similar in that way, but Magic has the per game stats like most assists per game in NBA history, and he won two more rings, and went to the finals every season but one… so while there isn’t an argument for Bird, I think you can make an argument for magic (even if that argument is wrong since it’s clearly MJ!)

Thanks for all your hard work Munroe! Clayton Crowley put this video I will link at the end of my post. Along with his Making the Case series for individual players and teams, he has a new series called "Legends". This vid I linked is about the Legend of Bill Walton. I thought you might enjoy it since you've mentioned you are a Celtics fan.

I think your talking about lakers vs celtics..(which later became nba live). But yes...that was 100% 2 points regardless who was guarding him...actually when I would play with my friends we would ban that move..it was way to o.p.

KD is alot better of a player and more talented overall than both Lebron and Steph, imo, but i see some ppls point for Steph
