Which SSD model do you recommend to add in and is it necessary to add the RAM?
I use my laptop to play Valorant sometimes which is a CPU intensive game but due to my slow hdd i have problems with loading screens and get stuck. That's the only reason i want a little upgrade

I own an Acer Aspire A615-51G. It came with 8 gb RAM, 2 gb graphic card, 1 tb HDD. I want to add an SSD to it. Is it compulsary to shift windows from the HDD to the SSD?
There are imaging programs that make it fairly easy. I usually just reinstall and copy my files over by using a sata to usb adapter.
does the motherboard only supports up to 2400 MHz speed?
Hey, I have the same laptop model but my one has 1TB hdd with it. I want add an additional ssd as well so that performance is faster. Do I need to disconnect the hdd from circuit while installing the ssd ?
If you’re installing windows fresh, you should be able to select which drive you are installing to. You’ll have to recognize it by size, since windows will just list your options as “drive 0, drive 1”, etc. If you’re not 100% sure and don’t want to mess up, you can unplug your existing drive temporarily. I have a a51-51g-53gc. 8gb but 4gb is soldered on, so a 4gb sodimm is installed. I looked up what I could expand it to but that was years ago and now I'm uncertain. I think it was 20gb max?

As long as you don’t short anything out while you’re working in there.
Still, it's better to unplug the battery for whatever you do inside your laptop. Better be safe than sorry

Hi, I have the same model, but my laptop doesn't show that I have 4gb onboard it only shows the ram that I have installed?
Me too I only see 16GB of RAM. What happened to the 4GB of on board RAM? Any advice @FamilyGeekery

You probably have to go into the bios menu and activate XMP for your memory.

Useless laptop. Only one RAM slot is upgradable.
It's useless if you want to use it for gaming! For a normal day use works fine.
Yeah 1 slot? Nitro 5 has 2. Even 2 ssd slit
