This is a really good video. When the train was pulling into the first stop, it looked nearly apocalypic. Then it lets out the steam and blows the howling whistle and confirms it. Yes, it is apocalypic indeed because they will survive the apocalypse.

It never ceases to amaze me that people can jog by on the adjacent path as if they don't notice anything un usual. Do they see a steam locomotive on this line every day??!!!

damn that is a lot of smoke!
There is even more steam than smoke. Sometimes it was almost all steam and almost no smoke. These vehicles will still run after an enormous EMP.

Nice video with a beautiful whistle, but what was the purpose of that annoying/irritating bell at the top of those engines?
Awesome and sheer majesty... This enginei seems different as to tthe driving shaft that appears one continuous strightline. But the whistle that booms across the plains is simply wonderful. Great that these giants still roll out there. In our country steam is not to be seen except on one line for tourists. VishG
