Though many don't like his singing but he is a true legend. His songs are very difficult to reproduce. This song of yours is a great tribute to him. The lyrics and the music composition takes the listener to a very high level of philosophy. Thanks for the song. Please sing more of his songs.

Interesting observation. Deshpande Sahib, your final quality is like Yesu Das Sahib...smooth and silky with nasal tones. Kishore Sahib's voice is much more sharp and crisp. I wonder if this is South Indian tonality? The creamiest of voice from Pakistan was Nur Jehan...but she being a Punjabi could produce very high tones. Really enjoy listening to your renditions. Keep spreading happiness...much respect for you!!
Correct final result sounds like Yesu Das ji.. Deshpande sir has a slight unmistakable Marathi tone.... But his voice is beyond even such attributes....

Even though I am a big fan of American Classic Jazz vocalists - I find myself listening to your songs more often. It fills me with nostalgia of my growing up years listening to my dad sing Hindi classical and ghazals from all the greats! I also especially love the classical and ghazal style of your explorations to the original! You absolutely right, Rahulji. There were great singer in that era who were well versed when it came to singing the classically inclined songs...like Rafi saab and Manna Da. But when you needed simple melancholy to be emoted...there was no one greater than Mukeshji!! A common man's singer!! A request if you would be kind enough...Bhuli hui yaadon mujhe itna na sataao!! what a tribute ! Your explanation after the song was great too. Singers have come and gone but few could emote the way Mukesh or Bhupen hazarika did. What I see in their singing is a genuine effort to emote rather than forced vocal expression of emotions. There's no forced emotions in Mukesh's singing - pure, simple and real emotions - which touches one's heart easily because the listener is empathizing with the singer who is actually empathizing with the emotions of an unreal character of a movie as if he's real! In that way, singer is becoming a vessel for carrying the emotions of the character. He made it look effortless but clearly it took years of effort to get there. it's like story of picasso's painting on a napkin. I'd like to hear you sing 'Shaam se aankh mein' - another one of those great Salil-Mukesh-Gulzar combination.
