    Don’t know why I never thought of flechette rounds being an effective tractor beam counter measure before. Such a simple but brilliant idea. It’s like space caltrops! Turn the tractor beam into a rail gun and make an enemy’s asset a liability. Very cool.

    I LOVE that we see Colin Cantwell’s original Star Destroyer concept as an Arrestor, a class dedicated to the concept artist. Further, I also like that they show the bridge interior, the Light Cruiser only having one sunken operations deck under the command walkway, unlike the two we see in larger capital ships. The lower positioning still puts the crew at the boot eye level of the command staff, just like slaves and their whip bearing masters in sea faring galleons of ancient days.

      Luther is quite obviously a very wealthy person, his ship demonstrates what a state of the art warship could be if no credit is spared. I believe the actual countermeasure he was waiting to load were the lightsaber-like weapons on the sides.

    I was trying to figure out why they sent a TiE Bomber out with the Fighters. Luthen's "Fondor" ship seems awfully small to send a craft after it with that type of ordinance. I guess it could have been outfitted with missiles or torpedoes, but a Gunboat would have been better suited I'd think. Of course, that would mean introducing two "Legends" ships in one episode...

    • @mini_bunney
      @mini_bunney 2 роки тому +2

      Based on experience from flying around in one in games, especially Battlefront 2, it's a very capable and sturdy missile boat when it needs to be, so it should be good for taking on something that seems to be slower and more armored than a simple starfighter. Of course it turns out that the Fondor is more nimble and better equipped than a regular freighter... Or maybe the standard fighter wing for the Arrestor just happens to have a bomber in it.

    You know the one thing I'm finding out more and more about the Empire is a majority of popular villains from other movies could easily fit into the Empire as some form of an officer. The more evil the person, the higher up the totem pole they are on the Empire.
    Norman Stansfield, main antagonist from Leon: The Professional, played by Gary Oldsman. Could easily be Director Krenic.
    Harry and Marv from Home Alone, the two Imperial Officers executed by The Grand Inquisitor in Rebels in Tarken's office.
    Cruella de Vil ... ISB Agent Dedra Meero.
    Hans Gruber could be Moff Gideon.
    Patrick Bateman as The Grand Inquisitor

    This is very well-known, readily available information most ppl truly interested in *Star Wars* already know…
    This is precisely the problem with this channel: you give your generally well-educated, thoroughly informed audience far too little credit. Though I agree with and appreciate the analytic and narrative insights you present in your videos, *nothing* you present is all that “surprising” or critically unexpected: anyone with even a passing familiarity with archetypal diegetic structures and hermeneutics has *already* made nearly *all* the observations themselves by the time you get around to presenting them as “amazing discoveries” in your videos. Part of the problem is your smug, condescending, self-satisfied manner. If you presented your critical observations as ideas **our entire community** has had, rather than acting as though we were a “classroom” and you our “lecturing” professor “filling us with knowledge”, you would come across much better.

  • @richardzahumensky5253

    • @LudosErgoSum
      @LudosErgoSum 2 роки тому +7

      A new idea is not necessarily a good idea
      An old idea might actually be something novel.
      By choosing this design and explaining it's features and class purpose, they honour the legacy of a designer whicy did a lot to materialize the Star Wars universe. If they instead tried to come up with something "good", we could end up with something new we would have hated because it didn't integrate well with the overall aesthetic. Remember that Cantwell's designs were all drafted for this time period specificially in the SW universe hence why pulling material from his work and updating it actually work very well. Not saying new designs won't work, but why fix it if it ain't broken?😊
