" Both beat at a frequency of 28800 vph". Incorrect mate, Only the Chronograph does, The standard model with the calibre 8900 beats at 25,200 vph (just like your white Diver 300m)
They also have a 38mm green Aqua Terra on their website (with the plank display face) which is listed as new, but I can’t see any videos on UA-cam about it.
This seems like just another way for Omega to raise prices. These are priced the same as other PO's that come on bracelets and $400 more than their sibling PO's on straps. There is nothing about these new colors that suggests more cost to produce over the prior colors. I think they look good but will be poor sellers and flood the grey market in a year for 30% less

Harrison. You have definitely made this section of the UA-cam market your own. I love your background, and how it 100% tributes certain other UA-camrs. And how you say the same thing , exactly as other UA-camrs have just said. But you do reduce things to the most basic level, that even the most simple watcher can understand. Keep it up.

I have many Omega’s. Almost all are more or less vintage or older than current editions, except my orange bezel, white dial Planet Ocean. I have a 1969 Speedmaster pre-moon Pro. I will buy more Omegas as I love their look, their movements, and compared to Rolex, the fact that you can actually BUY THEM. Rolex does nothing but play games with their availability. I also own a new’ish Tudor, again you can buy it vs. having to play games with a dealer. Omega = beautiful watches, that are a cross between a tool watch and jewelry, but that is available.
agree with your thoughts but some things to add:
Breitling did the same thing with silver and champagne dialed premiers - the pistachio got a massive push but the more 'sellable' traditional dials just appeared. I quizzed local marketing team on the plan and was told they'd rather produce and sell less BUT have few escapes to the grey market and/or discounting than make a big splash, have to send stock to lots of ADs and risk having lots of unsold inventory.
Of course some watches get pushed hard, they are the Judas Goats, leading buyers to the brands websites and boutiques but that will be an increasingly narrow selection of the catalog.
The Boutique in my area is very friendly and helpful as well as concerned with getting the customer what best fits the customers desires. so, I would have to say this tactic keeps the buyer who wants that special experience alive for the brand. The Boutique experience makes you feel as you're getting your worth and your time and money matters. You're absolutely correct about seeing the watch in person on wrist versus online in photos. the photos don't do justice to the true beauty of the watch in person.
Agree on the watch experience changing. Used to love going in to a boutique or AD and having a chat and trying on a watch. Very rare to get that true experience these days. Now it’s just pushy sales and people that don’t know a lot about watches.
I had a lovely hour in the Breitling boutique in Edinburgh two days ago charting to a chap called Jack about watches. Not just breitlings either so there still are some out there!

No pushy sales and genuinely happy to talk watches. Just getting harder to find now with online sales and the ADs pushing for sales in store. Had a few awful experiences recently.

Omega pricing is wild... they really want to compete with rolex not tudor
Nice release. I see no ceramic dial, naiad lock for the see-through caseback, matte look for the bezel with etched or laserblasted scales, no polished bevel on the side of the case. Looks much more tooly! Me likey…😍
Having three Omegas, two of them first generation Planet Oceans, I needed to have a look at the green one. They only had the chronograph but it looks stunning with its brushed stainless steel dial and the matte green bezel.
It's the lumen on the sand the whole bezel lights up it's insane

At those prices and only available with a rubber strap it seems like a not-so-subtle prelude for hiking the prices of all the others in the very near future. It's Omega so of course they will...
Wrist check- my favorite I own. Omega Seamaster Aquaterra 41mm in the blue grey dial with the blue grey rubber strap
The trouble is in my experience the staff in Omega boutiques (Glasgow and Trafford centre) are totally clueless. For example when I asked to try on the hesalite speedy in Glasgow the lady looked at me like I had two heads and brought out the sapphire sandwich 😂

Tudor BB GMT with Opaline dial on my left wrist and Garmin Epix 2 on the right as I'm cycling on my trainer while Zwifting and watching Harrison on UA-cam. Double wristing while I multitask.
The green ones are really great, but there is no way I pay so much money for a PO. And I love POs…
I have a boutique close by my house and two ADs as well. You can negotiate with the ADs. In contrast, boutiques have a very small margin to negotiate.
The colors are great big fan of the dials and the matte finishes. They just need to release them in a smaller size
Not everyone goes online. In my country Denmark there are a lot of people still going to the boutiques

The pricing is way too high for an omega, yes they are fantastic watches but not at that price point and we all know if you go into the boutique you have 10% off Just for walking in the door before negotiating a further discount so why not price realistically and the price is the price like the big boys do and no discount
