There's so much noise on UA-cam on this destination it was great to actually get a film that goes straight to the practicalities. Thank you very much for posting. This film is very useful. 👏🏻👏🏻
I was in Nice for 9 days with my wife and 13-year-old son last June (2019). Was blessed to be able to stay with a friend who lives there with his family (wife & 2 kids). It was a great time. We went (bus or train) to Ventimiglia in Italy, Monaco, St. Paul-de-Vence. Most people (European tourists and natives) won't approach you, but they're generally happy to engage in conversation with you.
The tram from the airport to the centre of Nice is only 1 Euro 50 cents, an absolute bargain. Also the 100 bus from Nice to Monaco or Menton is also 1 Euro 50 cents. We holiday in Nice every year and stay at Pebbles Holiday Rentals - we recommend then.
Original Nike-Town During the Greek Empire in 500BC, the hill above the Old Town was named Nike, which is Greek for ‘victory’, making Nice the original Nike-Town. During its multi-century Italian period it was called Nizza, and since becoming French just 150 years ago, it is called Nice. The people of Nice are Niçoise, have their own dialect called Nissart. StarBus
I'm in Nice right now and everything you are saying are spot on! Thank you for the additional great ideas! (I'm staying in the Old Town section and loving it so far)
Love the daily markets at Liberation Sq. And the Antique fair each Monday in old town ! Can get buses for 1 ot 2 eu at the stop near the airport to St Paul de Vence, or Grasse to see where the perfume comes from. Great day trips from Nice. Also 1/2hour to Monte Carlo by train, or Cannes the other direction. Nice is very central to stay at. I got air BNB in February-march, they have a big Carnival going on Yearly ! Cold, but beautiful golden sunshine & no tourists!
Off season is a great time to experience Nice because hotels are at a lesser cost and so are air flights. Nice is a very beautiful place to sightsee and go to art museums. This trip that I will take in February I will go to the Observatory I'm looking forward to seeing the telescopes and the planets. Also, the night sky will be perfect for star gazing and maybe a Milky Way astrophotography shot. Shopping at the flea market is always great - the first time I was in Nice we came back with all kinds of packable treasures. BTW: shopping is best off season for sale goods.
I loved your style, you have a new sub ;) Yesterday I bought a flight to Nice, I'm very excited about that place... I really wanna be enjoying those beaches and that beautiful city with its rich history !
Thank-you for this very helpful info !!! You answered very important questions on my mind - yes , most of Europe cannot afford air-conditioning so you will have to search for it - and it will definitely cost you more Euros !!! Now , with these heat waves and large crowds in August you must be cautious. Nice is very beautiful - too bad about the stones on the beach , but your advice is excellent with the proper foot wear !!! You must try the creme de la creme perfect pastries and chocolat to get some energy :) I have never been to Nice , but I sure want to visit - maybe in December 😁👍
My family owns a property right outside of nice, although this isn’t a nice tip it’s still a sometbing thing to do while you’re there, when we spend our summers in nice we sometimes like to rent a car and take a day trip to either the Tuscany region of Italy, or even a bordering town in Italy like ventimigglia which is only half an hour away, another place I love going to while I spend time in the French Riviera is cassis, absolutely stunning.
I love renting a car in the area. It’s the best way to get into the countryside. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, make sure to subscribe to the channel.
Me and my parents went there on our European Vacation when I was 9 years old. And yes I do remember walking on the beach barefoot we thought it would be sand but no it was rocks and it hurt to walk on it.
Nice is great in the off season ..May, September, October. We come 4 or 5 times a year and avoid august. Also, there are nice walking streets behind the Negresco Hotel (one block) and it takes you to Place Messina then to the old town
One of my favorite places in the world! I pretty much go every year, minus Covid. Also, the steps you took up to that fantastic view are a great workout!
Heard about Nice while studying in college...some kind of exchange program. Anyway, I suppose visiting Nice will be on my to-do list once I get established.
"Nice Nice tips" :D Sry, had to go for the obvious here... But really practical tips which I will definitely remember when going next month. Thank you!
Hi, how’s the weather like in October? Also what are some of the activities to do nice? Planning to visit next month! First week of October!! You reckon, is it still warm then?
I recommend going into the old town and eating where you see a lot of people and the food smells good. There are so many options in old town both Hyer and Budget friendly.
Is the water temperature in September good for swimming? My initial plan was to visit in July to enjoy a summertime beach experience but for reasons out of control, I’m travelling to Nice in mid- September. Would it still be warm enough to swim? I need to know what to pack in my luggage. Thanks
Is there an app or something like that to search what bus should I take, or if u have to buy a card and where should I buy it, things like that, prices, etc?
The sea food was delicious and knees, but I haven’t been to Portugal in a long time. Different style of fish for sure since it’s a Mediterranean instead of the Atlantic. Have a great time!
I typically tip around 15% in France. Really depends on where you are, and what you’re doing. Cafés, I just round up the euro, meals I give a proper tip.

Just got back. Uber driver said after 50 years, bus 100 was given a new number. Something like 617. Look it up to be sure or take an Uber.

Hotels by the Promenade des Anglais or nearby is perfect. Don't forget to check for AC. The summer is really hot.

Yes, I would think that the water would be warm enough in September. Thanks for watching the video.
Definitely warm enough to swim in September. Even October. In fact better than, say, April as the water’s still warm from the summer.
Is there an app or something like that to search what bus should I take, or if u have to buy a card and where should I buy it, things like that, prices, etc?
I honestly don’t know where to buy the bus tickets. My suggestion is checking on Google.
