"It's a beautiful day to safe lives"... the look that the nurse and Weber gave each other, I like how they include the long time extras in these scenes :)
I knew going in that one of the interns was related to Derek, but that's it. I actually cried after he said the phrase. I love that 18 years later the show can still pull off some amazing surprises.
The fact that the actor who plays Lucas was able to nail the inflection of Patrick Dempsey’s delivery is wild. He’s definitely going to have the richest and most nuanced storyline of all the interns
I had to go back and watch Derek's OG delivery...I wouldn't say this kid 'nailed' it. He kinda just said the line. Which is fine! He's part of the family, he's not supposed to sound exactly like his uncle. Who I got actual chills from, watching that ish again

@@amarilisgarciawinter8008 I don't think we can tell characters' ages from the actors. E.g. Amelia should be several years older than Meredith but the actors don't look like it.
The best part of the entire episode. I hope Lucas' mom is Lizzie because I would really like to see Neve Campbell back on the show. Not only do I love Neve, but her character seemed less judgmental and much cooler than the other two sisters. It would also be nice to see how she and Amelia interact since Lizzie was absent from the very Amelia centered episode in season 15. Just when I'd lost all hope, the writers throw in a pretty good plot twist...well played Grey's.
In Grey’s Anatomy Derek always said it’s a beautiful day to save lives that stuck and now his nephew is saying the same thing it’s weird but he’ll she is part of his family and she’s going to make one heck of a fine surgeon he just needs to listen to the chief of neurosurgery and not playing too much but overall he’s a very great student and I can’t believe that he’s Derek Amelia and Meredith‘s nephew
Good storyline but disappointing. I was hoping Zola would say it's a beautiful day to save lives on her first day or the girl that was with Derek at the accident would come as an intern to Grey Sloan memorial and say, It's a beautiful day to save lives on her first solo surgery with Meredith. Meredith will ask, why did you say that? Where did you hear it? The girl will tell her about the accident and how since then she wanted to be a surgeon like Derek. He saved everyone that day he saved me too. End of Grey's Anatomy
Im not....entirely sure being like a young Amelia is a good thing....but I am VERY excited for Lucas's storyline. I think it will be really interesting to see him not just as a surgeon but also as a family member. Two of his bosses are both his aunts! lol Also it makes me so damn fond the way Meredith talks to Amelia in this clip. They really have come a long way.
Hopefully without the underlying trauma that Amelia had as a kid he won’t self-medicate himself into addiction. And unlike Amelia at that age, he has his aunt Amelia to look out for him.
The fact that both Meredith and Amelia agree that Lucas resemble Amelia kinda scares me. I love Amelia but she was a pretty messed up person on her private practice days.
We have no reason to think that Lucas has anything like the massive trauma of watching your dad be murdered in front of you at the age of five like Amelia does. Amelia self medicated herself into addiction to deal with her father’s death. Hopefully with Lucas, we see the kind of mess Amelia could have been without that baggage, less drugs and more lighthearted. He also has his aunt Amelia to look out for him, she didn’t have that. And a lot of the crazy in PP might have been influenced by the tumour Amelia didn’t know she had.

You can came over and sit on the couch and tell me how was your day, I’m your aunt”

And realizing of course she doesn't like looking back in the mirror who does??? oh God I'm crying again 😭

If he's an intern that means he already finished med school and is at least in his mid to late twenties. Let's say he's 26 minimum. That would mean in the Grey's Anatomy world he was about 10 or so in season 1 and about 17 when Derek died.
