For the PW side of Chandra, can I recommend, "Look guys, I know I look cool, but can someone get a fire extinguisher now, cuz this is starting to hurt."
"A yo it's Chandra's Ignition, hot and fresh out the kitchen. Mama setting them fires, got every walker here wishin'. Bout to go roast some bums, oh wait now I'm gone. I'm a freaking Walker baby, I'm about to have me some fun." That was about the best I could come up with, hope someone has a better suggestion.
+Noah Daglio Thanks, i got a really good laugh out of that XD. Also, while i'm here, WOODLAND BELLOWER IS SO GOOD! List of good things you can fetch: Kitchen Finks, Voice of Resurgence, Fleecemane Lion, Awakener Druid, Coiling Oracle, Courser of Kruphix, Pretty much any Elf, Knight of the Reliquary, Ohran Viper, And last but certainly broken, F-ING GOYF WHY DOES THIS CARD NOT SEE MORE PLAY
Kothophed: Dr. Phed. "Let's talk about your soul, and what you can do to be pretty with it." Reave Soul: I'm so glad you made the Legacy of Kain reference Woodland Bellower: WHOOORNK!
The first time I heard Graham go 'WHOOOORNK!!!' for Woodland Bellower I nearly fell down the stairs laughing. That's just the perfect sound for it to make.
You were looking for a way to break Woodland Bellower? Travis Woo came up with a really neat combo, which really just needs 2 pieces to go off, even if the whole combo involves 7 pieces total. Step 0 - You need to already have a Painter's Servant in play, naming green. Step 1 - Cast Woodland Bellower Step 2 - Search for your now green Phantasmal Image Step 3 - Have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Woodland Bellower Step 4 - Repeat until you get you last Phantasmal Image Step 5 - With the last Image, search for Hellraiser Goblin to give your 5 Woodland Bellowers haste and swing for the win.
We actually had a game of EDH where someone cast The Great Aurora, I copied it with Twincast, and someone else flashed in Dualcaster Mage and copied it again. It was pretty silly.
I'm not sure if anyone else got that West Wing reference at 13:51, but I did Cam. I did. I'm David Peveto, and you better believe I approved this comment.
Guys, the reason Nissa's Revelation shows Emrakul is because when Nissa ascended to planeswalker status, she saw Emrakul trapped in Akoum. Her mind was attacked by this dark power of the Eldrazi and she sparked.
Herald of the Pantheon is Bargain Harold, both because he discounts enchantments and because that was the name of a Canadian dollar store chain. (That went out of business in 1991.)
Hallowed moonlight is probably the best to just yell out: "Hellooooo Moonlight" (animaniacs style). It's not particularly clever, but it works. Also, Jhessian Thief is just "Jessie" in my book, because I love her (don't tell my girlfriend please) The card you wanted with Woodland Bellower is Invasive Species. Some people played that with Demonic Pact at the Pro Tour.
Because of the tendency to add an "n" to her name (as Paul did), Iroas's Champion = “Richiiiiie's iiiiin troubllllle!” (Richie Rich) Knightly Valor = Appearing knightly Kytheon’s Irregulars = The Eh Team (Canadian Magic podcast, one member of which goes by "KYT".)
With regard to Skysnare Spider, I see it fit to paraphrase Cam with "That spider is the size of a house, it can have as many legs as it wants." ........and I personally thing it has 14 legs.
I like going face with chandra and just calling the sides based on how many times "damage" shows up on the card. so young chandra is "damage, damage, damage" and the flip side is "damage, damage, damage, damage." thunderclaw wyvern: lord of the flies.
I see Guardian's of Meletis and immediately think of The Neverending Story, and just want to start shouting "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH" like I'm flying on the back of Falcor, Will Wheaton style. (one of the PAX Inquisitions, Inc. vids)
Mage RIng Network is more like the Intergalactic Gate Bridge from Stargate instead of a single gate (The network of connected gates they built to travel between the Milky Way and Pegasus before Earth had ships with a hyperdrive).
Yeah, I was expecting Prowless for the Ringwarden Owl. Also, is it for sure that Chandra doesn't have to use her ping ability at all in order to have her flip? I've been hearing so many different rulings on it.
Samantha Burt Thats what I had thought, but I'd heard people saying they can just use stuff like fight cards or Ignition and they word it like that would just auto flip her.
+DHAnubis You do still have to use the ping, but since you can use it at instant speed, you get to flip her "immediately" (and if the spell you start with is Red, you even get to untap her first if she's been tapped down). But yeah, I've noticed people skip over that too.
Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh: "Loli Chandra" Chandra Roaring Flame: "Girl on Fire" Jace, Vryn's Prodigy: "Looter of Secrets" (he loots and he flips like Delver) Jace, Telepath Unbound: "Snapcaster Jace" Kytheon, Hero of Akros: "One Dropped Wonder" or "Kideon" Gideon, Battle Forged: "Captain Falcon"
I call Languish "Bye-Bye, Board State," because the quasi-casual deck I played while it was still in Standard didn't have a single creature with more than 4 toughness.
Kolaghan's Command is actually a modal spell, and you choose the modes when you cast it--that means that copying it with Goggles will lock you into the same two modes, just with possibly different targets.
patrickinverness This is what I came here to say. Modal spells (IE all of the commands) do not technically go on the stack as the card you cast. The spell goes on the stack with the text of the modes chosen. In other words, if you cast Kolaghan's Command and choose "Target player discards a card" and "KC deals 2 damage to target creature or player" then the spell on the stack is KC with just the text "Target player discards a card, then KC deals 2 damage to target creature or player." This is the reason that you can only copy those modes. If you want to check btw; gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=394613 "If a Command is copied, the effect that creates the copy will usually allow you to choose new targets for the copy, but you can’t choose new modes."
Woodland bellower searches for mana gorger hydra, tarmogoyf, shaman of the pack, courser of kruphix, eternal witness, kitchen finks, nulltread gargantuan, reclamation sage, and spike feeder as notable targets.

Actually, ignition doesn't flip Chandra... her flip text is linked to her tap ability so you have to use the tap ability then it checks if enough damage has been delt. So if they have some way to prevent her from tapping or in response to her tapping kill her... you're out of luck.

Some are born with nicknames
Some earn nicknames
And these had nicknames thrust upon them
Macabre Waltz: Grim Fandango (from the game)
Send to Sleep: Ok kids, time for nap time
Reclaim: Dumpster diving
Talent of the Telepath: USA Patriot Act
1:13:23 You're halfway there... "Hate Is For Horses"
Hallowed Moonlight: When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie
Chandra, the roaring flame: The player continues to burn
Cam, Nissa's Revelation is showing the past where she first learned of the Eldrazi, so Emrakul was still there
Jason Kaus not to mention that in duels the boss fight is not emerakul herself but "visions of" emerakul.
in my Play group we call Allahamarets archive "Wikipedia"
Angel's Tomb- Don't Blink (Dr. Who reference.)
thats literally what ive been using
"The Great Aurora: We'll make it…fine."
For the PW side of Chandra, can I recommend, "Look guys, I know I look cool, but can someone get a fire extinguisher now, cuz this is starting to hurt."
Not sure if this is entirely acceptable, but Guardians of Meletis could be "Gays of Granite".
"A yo it's Chandra's Ignition,
hot and fresh out the kitchen.
Mama setting them fires,
got every walker here wishin'.
Bout to go roast some bums,
oh wait now I'm gone.
I'm a freaking Walker baby,

I come in as a two-two
And I issue those beats-beats
Languish: Darnation.
Oh YES. Wow, that is good! =D
Noah Daglio I prefer "Well shucks"
+Noah Daglio Languish: "Just reprint it already!" The first thing I thought of when I saw the card.
+Noah Daglio Thanks, i got a really good laugh out of that XD. Also, while i'm here, WOODLAND BELLOWER IS SO GOOD! +John Jarvis Uh... because it's six mana to do that?
Just to make Graham feel batter: I read those Ga'Hoole books when I was younger. That said, I have no freaking clue what character he referenced.
Parker Dixon-Word Supposedly, if you read them backwards in a hoarse voice, you get hebrew death metal lyrics.
deathpyre42 Huh, that's amusing. Not the series I'd have expected to get that kind of response at some point.
I read that series also, the entire series. I can say with confidence the movie...is lackluster
Not to mention that it cut out all the serious bits like characters actually being dead.
57:47, since I had to go back to find it. Still no idea who the hell that character was though. Could gone with "Lyze", that guy was cool.
Kothophed: Dr. Phed. "Let's talk about your soul, and what you can do to be pretty with it."
Reave Soul: I'm so glad you made the Legacy of Kain reference
Woodland Bellower: WHOOORNK!
sword of the animist - rampsaber it sort of is a lightsaber but for ramping and inflicting death
Alternate name for Kytheon's Irregulars: "Low Fiber Brigade"
Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen = Dwynen the Elf Rock Johnson
Dark Petition = Dark Petition Girl
The first time I heard Graham go 'WHOOOORNK!!!' for Woodland Bellower I nearly fell down the stairs laughing. That's just the perfect sound for it to make.
According to the lorwyn book glossary, Daen was a rank in the gilt leaf army/hunting pack group.
The proper nickname for Bone to Ash is most certainly Cryptic Command.
1:08:12 Actually, Thornbow archer comes from the plane of lorwyn, a world that has no humans, so Alex should be saying, "I just don't trust boggarts."
You were looking for a way to break Woodland Bellower? Travis Woo came up with a really neat combo, which really just needs 2 pieces to go off, even if the whole combo involves 7 pieces total.
Step 0 - You need to already have a Painter's Servant in play, naming green.
Step 1 - Cast Woodland Bellower
Step 2 - Search for your now green Phantasmal Image
Step 3 - Have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Woodland Bellower
Step 4 - Repeat until you get you last Phantasmal Image
Step 5 - With the last Image, search for Hellraiser Goblin to give your 5 Woodland Bellowers haste and swing for the win.
This entire video is the antithesis of comedy: they're making a point of explaining the jokes :P
But why do I like it!? HOW DO YOU DO THIS DAMMIT!?
Mage Ring Bully should be "Why Are You Pinging Yourself, Why Are You Pinging Yourself"
i was listening to some of the older nickname podcasts and wondered when they would come out with the one for origins. then an hour later i found this
Flavor fail avoided: Nissa's revelation takes place in the past when all three eldrazi were still imprisoned on zendikar
really paul, "The statue got itself high"? Awesome TMBG reference.
We actually had a game of EDH where someone cast The Great Aurora, I copied it with Twincast, and someone else flashed in Dualcaster Mage and copied it again. It was pretty silly.

Chandra Ping .. HAHAHAHAHAHA I love it.
From my prerelease, Bounding Krasis is "Velociraptor on a surfboard!"
6:35 Don't Blink (funny on so many levels!)
With regard to Skysnare Spider, I see it fit to paraphrase Cam with "That spider is the size of a house, it can have as many legs as it wants." ........and I personally thing it has 14 legs.

I think Cam'a comment on Bone to Ash should be the nickname. "it's like a better Cryptic Command."
Necromatic Summons: "Swiggity Swag the Nightmare Stag" (it's a Hannibal reference =) )
Tragic Arrogance keeps the R and D name for me:
"You should have diversified your portfolio."
Chandra, Roaring Flame -> "The player continues to burn"
When Chandra flips you just start singing "This Girl is on FIYAAAAAAAAAAAAh"
I see Guardian's of Meletis and immediately think of The Neverending Story, and just want to start shouting "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH" like I'm flying on the back of Falcor, Will Wheaton style. (one of the PAX Inquisitions, Inc. vids)

I guess the closest thing you could get to a Flickerwisp with Woodland Bellower would be Nulltread Gargantuan.
Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh: "Loli Chandra"
Chandra Roaring Flame: "Girl on Fire"
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy: "Looter of Secrets" (he loots and he flips like Delver)
Jace, Telepath Unbound: "Snapcaster Jace"
Kytheon, Hero of Akros: "One Dropped Wonder" or "Kideon"
Gideon, Battle Forged: "Captain Falcon"
I call Languish "Bye-Bye, Board State," because the quasi-casual deck I played while it was still in Standard didn't have a single creature with more than 4 toughness.

"If a Command is copied, the effect that creates the copy will usually allow you to choose new targets for the copy, but you can’t choose new modes."
Gulyusml
It's also rule 700.2f, specifically. And 114.7, sort of.
+patrickinverness
Thanks :D I love learning which ones they are.
At least I can reference back to this!
+Gulyusml
If you have a smartphone, I recommend the MTGFamiliar app. It contains all of the rules in an easily searchable form.
Every time someone plays or I see a Hangarback Walker, I say "Hang on my back, Wakka." I don't know why. That is just where my mind goes.
Disciple of the Ring could also be called, "If Ya' Like It Then Ya' Shoulda' Put a Ring On It."
We just called Gilt-Leaf Winnower Racism and Nissa's Pilgrimage is take a hike.
Abbot of Keral Keep around here is "Hey, Abbott!", but that's just a variation on the same reference.
Woodland bellower searches for mana gorger hydra, tarmogoyf, shaman of the pack, courser of kruphix, eternal witness, kitchen finks, nulltread gargantuan, reclamation sage, and spike feeder as notable targets.

I always just sang Knight of the White Orchid to the tune of "Blue Orchid" by The White Stripes.
The Kothophed section was hilarious.

Have Skybind in play.
Cast Woodland Bellower
Trigger Bellower find Courser of Kruphix, put Courser into play.
Trigger Skybind, Target Bellower.
End step put Bellower back into play, trigger, find another courser.
Trigger Skybind, exile Bellower again
Opponents end step, Put bellower into play trigger, find courser......
and so on

God dammit, Graham. Seth Manfield drafted Chandra's Ignition today...
15:54 Chandra, Roaring Flame: Trogdor
During a draft I killed an opponent with his own Kothoped. Had a bunch of elves out and just sac'd them all to nantuko husk.
