S80 2008 smart key uses 2 batteries NOT one. that is why do couldn't get contact with one battery.

The immobilizer transmitter chip is in the old case along the side. While you show that it will transmit a RF signal for the doors etc, I guarantee that will not start the vehicle. You failed to mention this.

If the battery contact was the only problem, why do you need to fool around with the circuit board. Just pop the new half with the battery to the old half that houses the circuit board.

Do you know why my 2012 volvo xc60 fob won't lock my car anymore. I replaced the fob batteries, and the fob works to unlock all the doors, as well as the intelligent button, and the emergency button all still work as they should. It simply won't lock. Any ideas as to what might be the problem? Thanks.

Hi April, it may be the switch. Underneath the plastic button is a small electrical switch that makes it work, sometimes thee become faulty
