Rayla is perfect for Callum and vice versa. Claudia and Callum clearly what different things and their paths are leading them in different directions.
Claudia only told Callum because she is caring. Claudia told Soren she'll lure them in with something more powerful than magic, trust, but she didn't go through with it even though she very well could've let it happen and lure them all back to Katolis. That being said, Rayla best girl
Honestly, I felt like Claudia and Callum had much more dynamic between them. I found Rayla and Callum a little bit disappointing and bland. Let’s be real, they wanted to make Claudia seem like a bad guy in this. She personally seems to be a complicated character but she’s also really nice. I don't know if she even cares about Callum or Ezran anymore. She was perfectly ok with letting Viren's magic clone kill Ezran(which is horrible especially since he is a young child) and was mad at Soren for protecting him.
it was clear from miles that callum wanted claudia because of growing up together as claudia supported him emotionally, but it is unknown if claudia had or noticed callum's affection for her other point to make is that callum and rayla gave each other the chance to slowly remove the prejudges their cultures gave to each other and they knew what the other needed to build themselves backup when they were down, he saw in rayla hope of a better peaceful future, things her mom wanted, rayla was true to callum along the way and except for not telling him that harrow was dead, she didn't planned anything else behind their backs claudia represents the opposite of social progress of being stuck in the same grudges against xadia and encourage human pride, also not only wanted to keep the prejudges of being enemies of elves and dragons, she straight up betrayed him and his friends when they catched up in the moon nexus, supported viren after turning the soldiers in rage zombies and helped kill ezran and zym, you can say is viren's fault she is like that, is half her own fault for not reflecting that callum wouldn't forgive her for doing all those things, at some point it wouldn't matter how good her intentions were, she will face the concequences, even ezran would declare claudia as public enemy
Claudia's loyalty, her greatest strength, was also her downfall in the end. She followed in her father's footsteps because of her undying loyalty, loyalty to a broken family. She couldn't choose when her mother left because her loyalty was so strong. The plot thread of "choice" is especially poignant when Viren tells her to choose the egg over Soren. So sad that she chose Soren, only for him to leave her again like everyone else has- her mother, Callum, and almost Viren when he died. (I know these are justified, but this is from Claudia's point of view.) Her greatest fear is losing her loved ones, but that has been the narrative of her life since the beginning.
