The only scene I feel is missing is when they are climbing the storm spire and Callum asks if they are gonna tell the dragon queen. It's feels like a natural flirt between them. Something that is usually missing from tv relationships
As a writer myself, I can personally tell you that sometimes characters write themselves and can end up becoming something completely different than what you were going for.
I'm glad to see another fan who is just as fascinated with this show and their relationship as I am. Keep up the lore and the analysis they are very much appreciated. From one fan to another :D
Great video. My biggest fear is Callum and Rayla breaking up, and then ending up with different people, like in Legend of Korra. Now I admit, Korra and Mako weren't the most interesting of pairings, and her getting with Asami was a stroke of genius. That being said, there's no reason The Dragon Prince needs to follow this route, but I worry it's one the creators might consider. What makes Rayllum so amazing is that [according to the creators] it wasn't supposed to happened. Every movie or TV show has a tendency to pair their leads, and this makes those romances come off forced and uncomfortable. But since Callum and Rayla started off as friends and were "supposedly" to remain as such throughout the entire show, this makes the romance between them come off natural and organic. In other words, it just happened as opposed to something that needed to happen. Since this series is about ending the war between elves and humans, it would be ideal to have Callum and Rayla wed by the end of the series. A human prince choosing an elf for his bride would greatly improve the relationship between the two species. And no, I don't expect them to wed while they're still teenagers. Then again, Yue from Avatar was only 16, and she was betrothed to...oh, never mind. Rayllum for life!
There’s one ☝️ part you forgot that tops anything S3x08 when Rayla says she wants to stay to protect the dragon queen and try to get Callum and the others to leave. It’s a very difficult thing for both of them, for Rayla there’s still this part of her that thinks she still has to make up for the shame her parents had & for Callum it’s about him found another to love besides his brother. It’s the ultimate ☝️ one cause you can really get behind the two and feel so much. Personally I’m with Callum because could you really have just expected him to just leave her to die. The one person who made him let go of his sarcastic, crass defense mechanic for all the people he’s lost his life. But than there’s Rayla who’s been brought up her whole life to believe in no greater honor or redemption can be given than what she’s about to do. She’s scared and she wants Callum to accept but he can’t because it’s an impossible situation, so she’s switched over to her defense mechanic by being a Moonshadow elf warrior.
He's a human, and she's an elf: Rayla *putting on a cape with a hood*: Well hi there human fella, fella humans I'm human Rayla I love talkin' about wars, and unnecessarily large dishes of substandard food. High 5. Callum *stumbling to put on his twig antlers get up*: I'm earth blood Callum, all me best mates are trees. High 4. Both *looking at the other's "disguise"*:oooh.
I completely agree about everything in this vid. My friend asked me the other day why do I love the relationship between Rayla and Callum so much? So I wrote an entire paragraph and it was very similar to this. Keep making amazing vids, you’re such an underrated channel.
You're a month early for this. I like how even Bait was floored when he saw it. Also, in regards to word choice I think normal might be a better word choice than casual. Casual implies a lack of investment or consideration while normal suggests that they have made it a part of their lives.
going forward I predict that their loves story will follow a similar plot to Shrek 2. Whereas the first film focused on two unlikely characters falling in love, the second was really about showing what that love meant to Shrek and Fiona. Shrek fell for King Harold's trap, and willingly drank the Happily Ever After potion because he wanted to prove how much he loved Fiona. Therefore in Earth and Stars(I predict that is book 5) I would like to see Callum and Rayla face similar challenges where they have to make sacrifices for each other. While i am not sure about Rayla, I am certain among other problems, Callum is going to start obsessing over learning magic and will start neglecting Rayla.
I am a little confused by the shippera who are disappointed by the number of kisses. Wouldn't that be a good thing for the ship? Anyway, rayllum is beaufitul and I love it. Keep up the good work! 😁👍

agree!! i loved that scene so much, it's adorable and dorky and playful in all the right ways!
Rayla is honestly the best female character i've experienced so far.

I cracked up on: “magic feather arms activate”
It is a soaring moment.

The dislike is from Claudia xD
I just want to point out Bait's reaction at 11:25. Little details like that are great.
I think I totally agree with you because i came back to those two episodes; 03x04 and 03x05. many many many times.
