It's Jan, 2020, Cliff is younger to my Dec 24, 1946 birthday.I've been fortunate to watch all of Canada's best when they arrive @ The Pro-Am at venues in Cambridge, On. This year again at Grand Vally Golf & Country Club Feb,7. I've followed snooker since I lied at 15 in 1961 to get into New Toronto / Sportsman Bowling & Pool Hall, on Seventh St. near Lakeshore Road. This year I'm adding the history of the Rocket above The Grinder's in the snooker room. I hope, I do get to see the next Canadian @ The Crucible. Thank You Cliff Thorburn. 👍👍👍👍
Very slow to non existent. The sports networks showed a ton of snooker up until the late 90’s. Since then I haven’t seen snooker on Canadian tv at all.
My favorite player in the world used to play with uncle jimmy sinclair way back in the 70s to use to go out Punnichy and play on Sunday because the pool room we're not open back in the day i entered tournament in cartwright manitoba After the tournament my dad played poker with him lyle turcotte dougie sinclair i think paul lafontane
There are Zero players from Canada who can afford the cost at this time. No one has the Money to compete and sustain themselves in England period. If and when this happens, the player will be imported. Players will come from all over the world for Canadian citizenship so that they can find an easier way to go to England and play on tour. That is the way it is. The cost to fly across Canada to play in events is way too costly.
Bullshit. There are several young players in Canada with decent sponsorship money backing them but it comes down to talent and sadly no player in Canada would rank top 500 in the UK. Its not about the money, they'd get slaughtered.
I remember My 1st time watching Cliff at Times Square in ToronTo (b4 he went to England) I knew the name and was a Fan (Canadian) anyway he was playing GreaT' he was on a DEAD on black and got a 4 MAYBE 5 rail straight screw SHOT OFF believe You me it was IMPRESSIVE, that story is almost 40 yrs ago anyway I am NOT the type to forget a SHOT that I saw live by a FuTure World Champion and the SporT's 1st 147-MaxImumMan at the World Championships in CANADA Cliff is known (Universally) as theGrinder think about that Selby is TODAYS Thorburn . You are theMan for this Job Cliff all theBesT AND take Care Legend.
