I finally got approved. They agreed with my onset date, and I applied 8 months later. After I filed, it took 18 months to receive a decision. I was 55 yo at my onset date, I have aggressive osteoarthritis, and have had multiple surgeries. SS arranged a mental health evaluation (a consultative exam) as I hadn't seen a specialist for my depression in a long while. Once that was completed, my claim was approved in 3 weeks. I still can't believe it, this process has been debilitating
I was 63 when I filed for my SSDI an it took 2 weeks to get my first check after I when to there doctor an they took x-rays of my back But when you turn 70 your NOT on disability any more you go on S.S. retirement an still l disable.
Why did you apply 8 month's after your onset date? First u submit your medical history and they determine your onset date? They can start paying back benefits up to 2 year's they used to go back further but anyway I have Osteoporosis, kidney disease,an anxiety disorder and depression and it took me 2 years to get approved so you're very lucky I did receive retroactive pay based on my onset date which was nice however they tried to take 181.00 out of my check for Medicare premiums so I called and I qualified for the state to pay my premiums many people don't realize this !!
Sorry lol one last comment you mentioned SS had u see a doctor regarding your depression? Their main job is absolutely to deny you trust me you said you never saw anyone for your depression? I'm shocked they approved you because you need a ton of medical evidence I'm assuming it was due to your Osteoarthritis not depression and your wait was actually minimal!! Hey good for you!! But make sure and check to see if they're reducing your payment due to Medicaire premiums!
Yeah, it changes after your full retirement age, but you get the same amount. You're just retired at full age, and rules become different. For example, you can work without deductions
My husband and I are both on SSDI.. We make too much money for any extra help programs and are truly suffering. We are over poverty limits and living in severe poverty. We can't even afford food or medicine. We both are unable to work.

Not sure if you mentioned this in last months video. But getting support out for this bill will help those still waiting to get approved.
Good luck I hope it passes but SSDI puts everyone through hell you literally have to have so much medical evidence it took me 2 tries despite having Kidney disease, Osteoporosis, and an anxiety disorder!! Also you can't collect unemployment while waiting for approval because you're checking a box stating you're able to work so I had zero income it's ridiculous I've worked my entire life!
@Paul Grimm yeah I hear you, but 6 months is now the waiting period, they only give back pay if it's over six months. Back in the day, you would have gotten it, but they changed it. I waited 6 months to be approved

They will fix the funding shortfall as the drop dead date grows closer. I say this based on history of similar circumstances. The system ran low on funds in 1977 and again in 1983. Both times Congress took action and pumped more money into the system by a combination of tax increases and a gradual increase in full retirement age from 65 to 67. The Social Security Expansion Act has no chance of passage. The reason is quite simple. It contains a significant tax increase which is a non-starter for the Republicans. Due to Senate rules, 60 votes are needed for cloture and the Democrats simply don’t have the votes unless they can get 10 Republicans on board. The next problem would be in the House of Representatives where the Democrats are the minority. It’s not gonna pass unless the public puts enormous pressure on the Republicans. Not trying to be politically motivated, I’m simply stating the reality of the situation.
They are talking about SSI which is General Funds that SSA manages for the SSI. SSDI is not on this program as far as I know. I was incorrect and the bill is across the board for SSA, not sure about SSI but I'm sure they will be included.

I’m on LTD with SSDI supplemental. I’m making 70% of my pay at the time I went out. My employer told me that I can make up the other 30% without penalty. How would that affect my SSDI payments or eligibility? Thx for the great info!!
I have been on disability since 2007 and in 2012 I was awarded my States 2nd injury fund which gives me an extra $595 every other week but it counts as work comp so they take it away from my total disability I qualify for. The other kicker is I get taxed on the full amount like I received it, SSA that is. It is a screwed up system that needs to be fixed ASAP. I won't see my full benefit until I am 67 and I am 61 now and not in the best health.

You're considered low income so call Medicare they will pay your part B premiums they pay mine so it put 181.00 back into my check but a lot of people don't realize this and just pay it! As for working you're allowed to work but can't exceed a certain amount each state is different and as far as The Phillipines? I don't think so lol

They want to meet with me..... prescribe pharmaceuticals and shuffle me through the system until I actually need them, that is.
Isn't it odd that the ssdi Dr says you are ready and able to go back to work BUT 2 well respected high powered orthopedic doctors have already told me that my shoulder and knee need to be replaced. CT Scan on my shoulder is scheduled in 2 days. Shoulder replacement surgery will be soon. Not looking forward to it but knee replacement will be coming before long. 63 and have a very good 45 year work record but got denied . Sure hope they quit playing games before I have to start selling all that I worked so hard for.

I've been on SSDI for three years and still been working not full-time or part-time just a fill-in. However, my pay rate is high and I work one to two days a week 8hrs and get paid every two weeks. I got a letter saying for the six months I went over my SGA. So, I wrote them a letter stating that I will reduce my hrs. Do you think they will cute me off or make me pay back the money? I can't work a full-time job because of the elements that I have. I am praying that they make a decision for me to pay them back then cut me off completely.

For those of us that are legitimally disabled we should not worry. I just had my 14th surgery since 2007. If there are people scamming the system let them get caught and payback the money so that its there for others.
@@edelaney80 there ARE disabilities that arent obvious.
Hands and feet didn't heal in a wheelchair can't drive live with my daughter's one is an EMT and one is a Registered Nurse
I’m on LTD with SSDI supplemental. I’m making 70% of my pay at the time I went out. My employer told me that I can make up the other 30% without penalty. How would that affect my SSDI payments or eligibility?
Thx for the great info!!
That would not be considered earned income as long as the increase is apart of your LTD benefits
It would be from regular w-2 employment. They said I’m able to make up the 30% I am losing by being on disability.
Can I get ssdi andssi
Saint Captain 💙 you are the one 💙, for all of GOD'S children on earth 🌎 as it is in heaven Amen 🙏🙏🙏.
Thank you an God Bless!
Here is a good question how is ssi geting and when
I'm 20 years old, I haven't worked since 2019 in a part time job. I'm diagnosed with ADHD. I submitted a disability application 6 months ago and still waiting
Do you guys think I could get approved?
Yes! Prayers for you! God has your back! Trust in him,He will make it happen! AMEN!!!
ADHD? You need to work! There will be no time for you to be depressed. I have chronic cancer and get a pittance because of people like you draining the funds due to lack of effort!
For ADHD? You're going to have to have a lot more than that...
Nope it took me over 3 years with a lot of diagnosis
I've seen no plans to help with food groceries, rent, Bill, or anything
Not sure if this is true! If this true, should be getting a letter from social security office.
Am on disability and I am thinking to do the utube or laser engraving how would I do this without getting in trouble I just another surgery but I need to try something to sub my income so I hope u can give my ur input thanks
Thank you for these updates
Can you be on disability and collecting your retirement social security as a single person of age 62 and on a fix income ?
You can collect one SSA check
Two question no one responds lol
1. I only get 1050 a month and A ,B Medicare . On ssdi if I find part time job and can make 300 a week will I lose my ssdi?
2. If I go to the Philippines for 11 months will I loose my ssdi?
Thank you
God Bless
You're considered low income so call Medicare they will pay your part B premiums they pay mine so it put 181.00 back into my check but a lot of people don't realize this and just pay it! As for working you're allowed to work but can't exceed a certain amount each state is different and as far as The Phillipines? I don't think so lol
Hi Brian
It would be OK if there weren't so many people playing the system.
I want medi-cal to leave me alone until I have a major health event and have no choice, but to deal with them. They will not leave me alone and want to shuffle me into the mix. They want to meet with me..... prescribe pharmaceuticals and shuffle me through the system until I actually need them, that is.
I’ll believe it when I see the digits in my bank account
So we get check
Isn't it odd that the ssdi Dr says you are ready and able to go back to work BUT 2 well respected high powered orthopedic doctors have already told me that my shoulder and knee need to be replaced. CT Scan on my shoulder is scheduled in 2 days. Shoulder replacement surgery will be soon. Not looking forward to it but knee replacement will be coming before long. 63 and have a very good 45 year work record but got denied . Sure hope they quit playing games before I have to start selling all that I worked so hard for.

Hello, i just got approved last month after almost eight years of fighting. I was denied time after time. I have fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, I suffer with anxiety and depression. I have a spinal Cord stimulator implant. I have a total knee replacement. I'm 52 years old and i feel as if i am 85. I still look young but my body has totally given up on me. I want to know more about these programs if you don't mind. I truly appreciate all the information you are informing us with. Thank you so very much.
Happy that you are finally in receiving your benefits Tracy. We do this for people like you. Thank you for your support - Elle
Should I work any at all before approved? I was offered 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, 11 an hour.
We dont usually suggest working while applying for SSDI but you can if you absolutely need to. As long as it is within $1470
I don't agree with the other answer lol yes you can work part time while waiting for approval you have to have $ to live however don't collect unemployment you'll immediately get denied I had an attorney who used to work for Social security and she was very informative
It's true that only $ 1470 is all you can earn. Do your research on ss website, all the answers are right there, you will be ok
Will you resell my information? How much do you charge?
Yes ssi needs to up also because can't pay for food, medications or rent and bills
would my kids get approved also if i get disability?
b
I've been on SSDI for three years and still been working not full-time or part-time just a fill-in. However, my pay rate is high and I work one to two days a week 8hrs and get paid every two weeks. I got a letter saying for the six months I went over my SGA. So, I wrote them a letter stating that I will reduce my hrs. Do you think they will cute me off or make me pay back the money? I can't work a full-time job because of the elements that I have. I am praying that they make a decision for me to pay them back then cut me off completely.
Thanks for your info 🙏💜
How about husband y wife
Saint Captain and Bernie Sanders of the Democratic party for the American people of the United States of America social security benefits 🙏 and disability Amen 🙏🙏🙏🌎
This will never happen
Bingo. Exactly. Smart man or woman. Never going to happen especially in this economy. Take care ❤️🙏💯👍👌
It can happen
@@paulforsell1439 It was introduced in 2019 and hasn't moved. It isn't going anywhere because there is nothing there to benefit the rich!
@@Belanthiel I think that it benefits the stock market to have more people with money to spend
@@paulforsell1439 Though I agree that it would be beneficial to those of us on SS, it doesn't provide any immediate wealth to the greedy politicians. We also circle back to the fact that this bill was introduced in 2019. The traction it has gained is with a couple more Dems, which isn't enough to make anything happen in the end. These videos are nothing more than clickbait to those who are suffering with low SSDI, SS benefits. Bringing up, and linking to a stale bill, that isn't moving at all is not helping the situation. If you want to make a real difference, make a video saying "Hey, this old bill that would help is really going nowhere, but if we all band together and write our congressmen/senators demanding action it would be better than sitting around hoping the tree out back is going to start growing money!"
They took the food EBT away. They won't help us.
McConnell was on last night and said there is zero chance of even debating any SS change.
Hey Bryan love your show. I was wondering if you could do an episode on ssi and ssdi and retirement accounts specifically ira and roth accounts.
My mom is on ssi and we opened a roth ira for her and we are not sure if that was a good decision or the consequences of that. Thanks again.
Will social security getting the $22400.

Fun fact the futures centralized banking system will give zero fucks about how many worthless dollars you have
That would really help
I got my SSDI relatively fast after being disabled by a Widow Maker heart attack. It took me a year and a half. I've been receiving benefits since April 2022.
If you can work youdon’t need disability..

Social security isn't going to get improved. Half our elected officials want to get rid of it entirely.
As a former Elementary School teacher I was extremely underpaid in NM and now I'm being penalized with lower SSDI payments bc of it. As a single parent of two, I qualified for medicaid for years and years as a teacher! Just shameful. Doesn't qualifying for Medicaid/SNAP as a full time teacher show I was being underpaid in the state of NM? What can I do?
I think u just answered your on question
Ur not supposed to be able 2 work on SSDI.....
I might be wrong
I had 2 disc shadder and nerve block an ask to go back to work and they said you can work but they will deduct so mush per 100.but when you turn 65 you go on SSI and can make 100.000 with out being deducted because your on retirement nor disability
Ie $12600 gross?
Quit giving taxpayer dollars to other countries and invest in our disabled and elderly..
Is not true
Why is it that people who don't have a disability gets approved for ssdi and people like me who is wheelchair bound, has had 4 heart attacks and several strokes gets denied
I am very sorry to hear that Tina, have you appealed the decision? - Elle
It's very hard to get approved so they must be disabled? Why are you in a wheelchair?
All lies
UNTIL IT HAPPENS ( LAW), ITS ALL BS TALK
It will not happen
