Garden signs! Good idea! It reminds me of this little poem;
The Kiss of the Sun for Pardon,
The Song of the Birds for Mirth,
One is Nearer God's Heart in a Garden,
Then Anywhere Else on Earth.
This is from a poem called God's Garden by Dorothy Frances Gurney

Another nice sign - question what is a good wood for a sign that will be exposed to the weather full time?

Really it has more to do with the finish you use. If you use a good exterior finish and put several coats on it pretty much any wood will work within reason. We use pine, cedar, redwood, etc.
