    Preparation: fertiliser and weed control
Renovation: scalping, soil wetter and pre emergent, top dressing, fertilising
    Recovery: fertilising
Let me know if you're keen to see more of this lawn on the Tube!

Very good guide with basic equipment & products. I personally would of used a granular fert, soil wetter and pre emergent. Came back a few weeks later and sprayed the weeds. Scalped, used your ryobi scarifier with the dethaching rake giving it a single pass on the highest setting, top dressed and fertilised again. You can give buffalo a heavier scalp than you done, about 18-22mm is a happy height for rotary mowing, 15-18mm if cylinder mowing. A nice light vertimow will also help remove a bit more of the excessive material and cut some runners which will actually aid in a faster recovery. Im not sure what Ben sells the product as, but MatchPlay Renoblen which Ben would sell as a renovation fertiliser would help the recovery and restore nutrients in the soil.

Looks like there was still a lot of dead matter in there, definitely should have run at least the power rake attachment on a Ryobi scarifyer over it a few times to bring that stuff up.
Would've also gone down a little lower too afterwards, at least the 4 setting across the whole area to vacuum that dead matter out once it's been power raked.
A lot of people are too cautious with buffalo I think. I do a Reno on my neighbors front lawn every year, and I bring it back down to a 3 on my masport president 4000 after a few runs of the power rake, then give it a top dress with sandy loam. Doesn't look amazing (no Reno's do) but comes up a treat after a few weeks.
Of course, bringing up all the dead matter would mean a lot of green waste to get rid of, far more than would fit in a standard green waste bin and would probably need a small trailer for.
Keep up the good work bro 💪🏼

I agree, The Aussie Lawn has taken buffalo right back to just stolons on the surface and it came back incredbile. Far too many people wig out about buffalo in my opinion.

Agree boys! Different story renovating a very unloved and struggling lawn compared to a thick and lush lawn like Brenton though. This lawn is coming along really well, updates coming!

Loving the videos. Do you think it is too late in the year to do this type of Reno on a Buffalo lawn?
