Hang in there. Most nursing schools schedule Pharmacology in the shorter semesters which is typically in the summer. It is going to be overwhelming, but I think it is meant for students to NOT go too far in-depth and NOT be in the weeds. Just stay up-to-date with your assignments; try to turn them in 1 week early to lessen your anxiety and stress. I felt like I was not learning also, but ended up with an A+ in Pharm and passed my RN ATI Pharm Content Exam with a 92%. Once your assignments are turned in, then you have the "relaxed freedom" to read and REread for understanding. Always remember ...nursing school is JUST there to get you prepped for the NCLEX. ATI (unnecessarily) OVER-prepares you and is way harder than the NCLEX. Anyway, the real learning takes place once you start working as an RN. Good luck and God bless.
I can’t tell you how much your comment meant to me. Like I told one of my other friends on here, I guess because I feel like I’m not good enough I feel like I have to overcompensate. I need to get over that mindset because it’s actually just taking time away from other things that are more productive in my life right now. thank you so much for taking the time to write this, this was very much appreciated and needed. I can’t tell you how much at peace you put me when I first read it (I even mentioned it in my next vlog lol). Great advice!
i just found your channel over the weekend and i’m so glad i did! i’m binge watching all your videos😊 your channel is so relatable and i just love it🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼😇
By the way I am fan girling!!! I love your channel. I came across your content when I was looking for other moms in nursing school and I started watching your pre-nursing school videos. Hope everything is going well and congratulations for getting into nursing school!!!!
Oh I 100% remember the feeling and fear that I was neglecting my kids when I was studying for hours and hours on end. It sucks but I’m going to be honest, none of us even remember those individual days/moments, and I promise it gets better. You’re doing phenomenal and you are not neglecting your babies ❤❤❤
YOU ARE SO RIGHT! Thank you for this ❤️❤️❤️ Sometimes we like to talk about the best memories we have and they have never brought up any notion of me being absent or wishing I had been more present. You are absolutely right. Thank you friend.
Chrisanta - your East Texas sister is right here with you! I know you've already gotten past the moments you were experiencing when you recorded this video, but I wanted to encourage you. I know exactly how that feels - the overwhelm of these summer-term classes. I'm in A&P I and II and labs in these summer terms and it is SO MUCH. Way too much info crammed into a short period of time. BUT - you will be a great nurse because you actually want to know the "how" and "why" behind what you're studying. You will be the kind of nurse who educates her patients
YOU ARE THE BEST Shannon! Please don’t ever hold back your advice because I can tell you really care and it’s also really good advice. And you are absolutely right. I think I’m pouring too much of my time in areas that really don’t need it, like you and many of the other women who have commented have all said the same- just stick to what you need to know in order to pass and I’ll learn as I’m on the floor. It may be my imposter syndrome or the fear that I may fail that makes me feel like I have to overcompensate. But like you said, my sleep is so much more important. I can’t be good in any of those areas if I’m sleep deprived, not to mention, I’m 10x more emotional if I don’t have adequate rest and that’s never a good thing. Your prayers are so kind and very much appreciated ❤️ and thank you for taking the time to encourage me during your little time that you have available. It’s not taken lightly because I know how busy you are. Much love from your West Texas sister 🥰
love your videos!!! Okay so if I was up for 35 hours I would have a mental breakdown. I am a crier (unfortunatelyyy) and you will absolutely see me cry if I go that long without sleep. Respect for all the amazing things you are working toward! I really like how you said this program looks at rural care. I know in San Antonio I wont find that. My mother used to have a book called "Where there is no doctor" and it is a fascinating book about care in villages etc. I used to curl up and read it all the time as a kid- I even have a copy now I purchased as an adult. I like that stuff. So here in San Antonio I recently finished a CNA program and I am trying to find some opportunity that is not long term care- I am extremely interested in a hospice job as this is my main area of interest, I also took a class to be a certified death doula and I am just really motivated to do so much- but I am working with my mental health that seems to be bringing me down. LONG story short- what you are saying about processing and "feel what you are feeling" is helpful for me to consider. I wish I was still able to have my faith to really turn to- but Im having a hard time with that too these days. Sorry for the long comment I just like your channel a lot and feel like I relate. Take care
oh and something I do all the time is if I cant do it perfect I may as well not do it-- this is TOXIC i swear it holds me back sooo much. I love that you are trusting to figure things out a day at a time.
I LOVED working for hospice and I miss it so much! It takes a very special kind of person to do that type of job and you sound like you would be amazing at it. That book sounds great I’ll have to check it out. And if you’re interested in a nursing program like mine YOU SHOULD COME! lol We are only 5 hours from you :) And I’m definitely a crier as well. I’m super emotional and it’s taken me so long to recognize when I’m making emotional decisions. People like us who are very emotional, in my opinion live life so full because we FEEL it and in my opinion it’s a beautiful and fuller life, but on the other side, if we don’t see when it’s causing us harm we can reallly go into a dark place and I have been there before and for so long. It’s beautiful but it can be scary if we don’t realize it’s us who can take control. Thanks for being here and I’m so glad you stumbled upon my videos, hopefully we can keep up with each other and keep each other in check lol
Love your videos. You’re so relatable I’m also the same way I’ve quit a lot in life I’ve recently quit dental school. But will be going for my CNA which is how I found you. ❤
If you’re not overwhelmed, stressed, confused, overstimulated, overstretched lol then your not in nursing school You’re doing so good keep pushing through and continue to SHOW UP ⬆️. Xo
Don’t worry too much about delving that deeply into the medications, it can make you feel incredibly overwhelmed especially with everything else you have going on. Doctors and pharmacists are really the ones who need to know the actions of meds and what they’re doing in the body, but it’s our jobs as nurses to know and educate the patient on what the side effects are, what other medications it can react with, why the medication is indicated, etc. You’ve got this! It’s great to be curious, but nursing school wants you to know enough info as it is, I’d just hate to see you get burnt out so early on
Binge watching, OMG . I love your channel, you are so inspirational! You do it all girl, 🩷💜
Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️

I really needed this, thank you so much ❤️
Look up the good jobs challenge. I received this grant my last year of nursing school and it was a life saver.
Thank you so much! And I will ❤️
Can you please talk about your experience of how to afford school this is something that really worries me as well.
I promise girl I will! ❤️❤️❤️
