Endlessly frustrating watching the comedians at the end of Nothing Special wondering if Norm ever did this material in front of the audience and or whether or not it would kill. I felt the exact same way. It boggles my mind that Norm toured the country for years doing some of the best stand-up ever performed, and there's so little video or high quality recordings. It seems to me like every sound guy should have just had a digital recorder going when he was performing. Bill Hicks did this 30 years ago. Such a shame that so much material was lost. But, ultimately, I know that Norm was performing for the people in front of him, and for himself, and that was it. He always sounds like he is having so much fun. I will always wonder if the isolation of covid is what finally tipped the scales in the cancers favor. It seems like he really loved performing.
