I just got into this game so I've been watching your old videos. It's kind of a trip to go right from those old videos to this one. Your old voice was cool but your new (RL?) voice is kinda cute.
Best way to train shooting in my opinion is buying an EMP- or smoke launcher and shooting your tamed animals. For construction: Chess tables made from stone take forever to build (dont know the exact number but sth around ~900 work is required) so you can level up pawns fairly easy.
There's also the rich route : skilltrainers. I like to buy a few when i can to train good medics, crafters and social pawn. And if i've spare money i'll definitely buy them whenever i can so my pawn get better at their jobs and this wealth won't stand here doing nothing.
@@demircan_demirbag doomsday rocket launcher are worth it only when the ennemy is packed together. Which happen only at the entrance of your killbox. Which, by definition, is useless then because you'll blow up everything else. So such weapon is a worst case scenario in which i have a raid i know can't fend off or need to blow up a mech cluster that i can't simply mortar. In the end, that's a weapon i'll most likely not use. So i'll have much more value out of a skilltrainer for a pawn.
deconstructing a stone door takes too much time and gives a lot of xp. You can cancel the deconstruction by just draft your pawn. Immediately after undraft your pawn so it can repeat the process. Just click on the pawn and before it deconstructs the door, press "R" twice. Use doors of ancient ruins of your map. That way I managed to get a pawn with no passion but fast learner trait from level 1 to 5 in two days by just deconstructing one single marble door.
The best way to train melee is to get a bunch of chickens. Let them start breeding until you have a bunch. Then start bashing the chick's. They always die in one hit, but since you will have way too many it doesn't really matter.
Really good decision to chill out in your presentation (compared to past videos where it gets pretty memey and over presented). This video is a step in the good direction for you, and also has good info. Thanks.
If your colonists get a debuff from organ harvesting Prisoners you can always just use your melee pawns to beat the prisoners up just try not to kill them since you won't be able to beat them up if they are dead. Pro is that you'll get melee and medical xp without a mood debuff for the whole colony
you can start deconstructing something large like a stele and stop before it finishes and build up low levels of construction without wasting materials
Vivisecting spare farm animals helps a lot with medical. The process of going through all your animals, picking the expendable ones and selecting the vivisect operation is kind of tedious but I'm guessing its easier than doing it with prisoners.
Dude, some constructive critisism: the volume of your voice is too low in the video (and in a lot of videos in your channel). Tell your editors to up it a little. This gets annoying specially when the ads kick in because they are at a higher volume. Aside from that Noobert, your content is really good.
I have to second this. Even at my phone's loudest your voice is very soft, and it's softer than the "snowy tv" effect sound, which is rather annoying. And nobody likes it when the ads are louder than the video. Please fix so we can better appreciate your content!
One thing you forgot Noobert. Drugs. Crafters who are set to make drugs earn intelligence for each drug completed, meaning you actually WANT to place them in a nice, comfortable enviroment to make as many as they can in a short amount of time.
extra prisoners can also be used for combat training just put them in a room with nothing(dirt floors stone walls sleeping spot super hot or cold temperatures only feed them corpses when they mental break and try to get out just have your training pawn with a club take him/her down(melee training is more effective this way shooting training can lead to untimely accidents) this may not be the most effective but it is filled to the brim with warcrimes
You can quickly learn medicine by installing and removing wooden legs all the time or send animals or half death raiders to ethernal sleep by medicine.
My Doctor is the one always getting injured or sick while the others are mostly always fine, he also fights the least and after a Month he's been fixed at least a dozen times while he's fixed ONE Colonist ONE time. And there's nothing wrong with him that makes him more vulnerable... that's life for you though!
Personally I think the passion mechanic is a little bit busted. Having no passion means you learn at 35% speed which is insanely slow, especially if it is a crucial skill you need right now. Having a single flame makes learning 3x faster which is a massive difference. Having a burning passion is very nice but not nearly as important as having a single flame as burning passion, two flames, only gives 50% more than the single flame. I mean I know my pawn doesn't like to cook but can he at least learn how to cook a non food poisonous dish in half a year on the rim cooking for 4 guys? It's not that hard ... students go through this process all the time going to college lol ... meanwhile my guy seems stuck at skill 3 giving all my guys food poisoning time and time again lmao. I'd rather see a scale of (100% > 125% > 150%) learn rate for no passion/passion/burning and perhaps cap their max skills at (10/15/20) making burning passions all that more useful while not completely fucking over lesser pawns abilities to actually learn and produce vital stuff. Luckily ... there's mods out there that allow me to do this because by god ... I hate how slow non passion pawns learn. Good vid btw

Really useful if you are running with a mod like Children, School and Learning) > Crafting Quality Rebalance (this allows you to configure how quality levels of items are generated, I use it to reduce the RNG of getting low tier items) But you may also want to consider using. > 'Mad Skills' and 'Madder Skills' the addon to it. This allows you to do the same as static quality plus in terms of passions. There might be some compatibility issues if you use both so be sure to read up on them before using them all together. I'd recommend choose one or be sure that you know what you are doing.

I do have a piece of feedback, the sound for most of your videos is pretty low, like I have to play your videos at double my normal volume to get it to sound normal. Could you please crank up the volume a little bit?
I got the same issue. The click noises he sues when requesting a like and sub are WAY higher than his voice, and even those seem somewhat muted compared to how most other videos on youtube are balanced out at.
One good thing to train building is claiming ancient structures that is damaged before deconstructing them. For Medical you can hunt animals (only animals that dont revenge) and let them fall for bleeding (also doing these you train shooting). To train Meele combat you can do the same thing above, but just beating an animal with clubs, then healing them later (I think its better than beating prisoners).
never forget to draft your pawns before deconstruct this ancient ruin doors adn undraft them to repeat the process. This way you will have unlimited supply of xp. Also, there is no need to claim them.
@@TheLegomann97 to be precise, skill goes up as long as a pawn is firing. So long aiming time means your pawn takes more time to shoot -> more xp per bullet.
Seconded for the smoke or emp launcher on a farm a larger farm animal like alpaca or horses. (As I believe hits are worth more exp then misses). Just be careful none of your pawns with brain bionics are wandering to close to the emp launcher if being used.
I'm not sure when this was added, but extracting hemogen packs may not have Failure chance, so while it's not a ton of exp, it's a pretty safe way to level up medical on low level pawns
I don't know it will Work anymore because i have other Training Mods but in Vanilla was a Training Methode to Build a Stone Wall and Let it Attack from a Colonist. When the Builder one is Locked to the Wall he will Repair it and Get construction skills and the Other becomes Melee skills.
Sometging useful for medical training, a botched surgery is worth as much as a sucessful one but it doesnt actually yknow work. So you can just have a dirty area in your prison for surgeries which will make even the best doctors fail, and you can grind out your entire medical on one prisoner.

What is the best thing to craft for training crafting? (High work, low resources) Currently, I've been making Bonecrete Throwing Rocks, which uses 2 mods: Vanilla Weapons Expanded and Rim of Madness: Bones. I was wondering if there was anything (vanilla or otherwise) that would be better for it.
Apparently the algorithm doesn't like it if you like a video too early in the video so best put the "please like & sub" not too early into the vid, Noobert.
For construction I pretty much just assign them to the task and they'll start doing it, even at level 0. They'll level up on their own. Of course, that's shit in vanilla, because they'll construct things with quality too. The qualitybuilder mod will allow only your best (or a pawn of your choosing) to construct items with quality
Is there a mod that allows you to restrict witch attacks a pawn can use, cause I have implant that gives him new attack however he sometimes punches normally, using his hands not this implant (and he needs to be unarmed in order to use it)
I'm not 100% sure but I think writing books can help to raise skills with vanilla expanded. I've yet to see if that works yet though. Always try and get at least a minor passion in a skill you want to train unless you want it to take 6 years to get anywhere.

I know this is an old video, but you can also practice medical skills on tamed or wild animals for a more reliable source of surgery/tending skills, without the mood debuff risk when you inevitably kill one of them. You can't really remove organs from them, but you CAN amputate infected limbs and even sterilize them in vanilla. Great also for practicing shooting or melee skills, just try not to kill any you don't want the meat/leather from
What about own lvl crafting without wasting all your resources? Dude is lvl 7, trying to get to 8 so he can be exclusively on components. Is there a trick for crafting? Do drugs count towards intelligence or crafting?
re: surgery: sure, you COULD risk your precious bags of organs you call slaves and prisoners... or you could sterilize some of the animals overrunning your base. if you're going to slaughter all those roosters anyway, you might as well neuter them first.

Go for pemmican. There are no skills requirement for cooking it.
Yeah no passion should be at least 50%. I'll often pick fast learner when using prepare carefully and never feel like I'm cheesing.

IMO the fastest training range skill is to hunt small animal like hare or mouse using sniper or use smoke GL on your pan Animal.
the downside is that skill only goes up for hits that land.

Thrumbo and herd hunting I do is done as a group. Usually with a fast pawn as bait, and a line to just unload into the animals.

It was added with the biotech DLC so it didn't exist when this video was made. Biotech offered quite a few ways to optimize training.

We cant make guides for mods anymore due to it costing 200usd to make a video and mod guides generaly earn 40-70usd
