Those albums, videos, production costs, songwriters, musicians, studio costs, producers costs, all add up. Plus all the additional advertising and artists money advances. I had the pleasure of touring with my Sisters in 1993, I played keyboards and percussion. We performed Arsenio Hall , BET we also did a LIVE BET album. I can tell you that these women were beyond talented, some of the best singers in the biz. Dedicated, hard working, especially at rehearsals. I will forever be grateful to you Joi, Di and Tonya. They gave me my start. The 90s were the best.
I used to be so in love with Joi Marshall & even told her so. But I'm not surprised about Di Reed she always gave me grandiose vibes. She ignored Joi & Tonya's reunion attempts on 2 occasions bc she was too busy for them & the minute they find a replacement & start booking she writes a cease & desist. Damn!! Who needs enemies when u got friends like that tryna block u while they steady booking gigs?? FYI: Another reason they broke up was bc Tonya Kelly had a jealous & abusive man at the time that she refused to leave & it started interfering with the groups performance schedule a lot.
So the ladies share use of the trademark, but Di wants to use it to hold over the other member’s heads 🙄 If Joy & Tonya have opportunities to support their livelihood, which Di is passing up for personal reasons (it’s her prerogative), then why should that stop the other two members from capitalizing on opportunities?!? 🤔 Is Di expecting a percentage off of shows she’s not participating in, because that’s what it sounds like from this information. As a fan I’d love to see them perform again!

This is so unfortunate that after working together for so long and getting to know each other, these ladies couldn’t find an amenable way to work out their differences to everyone’s benefit.
So many 90's groups have settle their differences and reunited and are doing well giving concerts. Some of these differences are worst than Jade but they worked things out. Granted, these groups may not be the best of friends like before but they knew that there is still a fanbase out there who would like to see them perform together again. Jade still have people who want to see the OG together again. We'll see if it happens.
