  • Hello to all of my viewers and subscribers. I'm sorry about taking so long to upload this music documentary, but I felt like it was necessary to take time to do it. This music documentary profiles the music career of Ms Lauryn Hill. Lauryn is a singer, rapper, songwriter, actress, and producer. She has had tremendous success in her career as group member of the Fugees and as solo artist. When you look back at her career you understand lauryn was never crazy... The music industry is clearly a sick place and when you choose peace and want to walk away from it people paint a crazy narrative about you.. I respect people like her, D'Angelo and Dave Chappelle who walked away at the height of their success and understand peace of mind and soul are priceless

With all due respect, a lot of what Lauryn talks about if you listen to her discussions in her MTV Unplugged appearance are very much symptoms of Bipolar Depression, specifically the subset of Bipolar in which someone experiences long stretches of abrupt depression followed by normal levels of functioning. A woman can have Bipolar Disorder and be a strong, talented, smart, creative, wonderful person. We need to stop acting as if having a mental illness would diminish her creative endeavors and artistic accomplishments. When men have a mental illness but produce creative work, such as Kurt Cobain, we celebrate them even knowing they were unwell. Why can't we acknowledge Lauryn's mental illness and celebrate her? Because Kurt was a white man, and Lauryn's a black woman, she doesn't get to be both flawed and gifted? I would ask you to please reexamine your words and open your heart up to the idea she can be both struggling with something and worthy of praise.

It took me about 3 months and I finally popped it into my CD player and listened, re-winded, listened, re-winded and learned EVERY song on that CD 20+ years later, I must admit that I ABSOLUTELY "STILL" LOVE THAT CD, it is the BEST of all time. Ms Lauryn Hill is a true genius! I loved the music so much that my son drew a beautiful likeness of Lauryn for me in 2006, Yes, she is framed and one of my most valued pieces of art that he has ever created. Great story Empressive!

And as she said when you asked to be used by God you have to be fully used and that sometimes comes with humility. Her Freedom Time song explains a lot. And as she says let them with ears to hear understand. 30 years from now her last interview in 2000 will be relevant then. Some just don’t get it.

Wow... Wow. THAAAAANK YOU! Finally a very well deserved documentary to a true legend, she just revolutionised the music industry and with a few albums she made an unforgettable remark that stays long. She belongs to the 2nd best decade in music ever, the 90's and she is all, singer, songwriter, musician, producer, performer, actress. I just simply loved for never allow the industry to shape her, and for not using sexual scandals nor any other thing rather than her artistry. She is a true artist in a 'll the range of this word.

Yes! What amazes me was that she was only 23--she even acknowledged that she was a "baby" which was true but the WISDOM in someone so young astonishes me and inspired me at 20 years old back when "Miseducation" came out. I bumped that cassette DAILY. I can't believe people were judging her for having babies. So what! As long as she is a good mother and takes care of her kids it's no one's business how many she has--married or not. She is an incredible artist. They judged Erykah Badu for the same thing also.

These kind of documentaries help me as a woman! Truthfully, I never knew some of these things about her.
As an artist myself, I haven't taken that chance with the industry because I don't want to have to conform from who I truly am and I follow The Most High
which is frowned upon in the industry. In knowing that she stood firm, she lived the word. IN THE END, ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE WHO LOVE TMH (THE MOST HIGH) Shalom sister.
