Hello Doctor thank you for this video. I have a question, I’m going to graduate from an EU university next year (so no need for PLAB) and I want to get a non-training job asap. From what I understand it is almost impossible to get a job without a clinical attachment. Is this true?
I have done mbbs with no experience and 5-6 years gap due to personal reason, so now if I apply for plab exams and then for fy1, is it worth taking risk ?
Hello Dr. Faraz, thank you for the good work. I graduated in 2013 and began working as a General Practitioner (GP) in 2016, continuing until October 2022. In October 2022, I transitioned to a psychiatry resident role and successfully passed Paper A of MRCPsych. I have PLAB2 scheduled for November 10, and I plan to take Paper B of MRCPsych after that (assuming I pass PLAB2). Given this background, is there a possibility of obtaining a non-training position in psychiatry without diversifying into other medical areas?
Thank you so much dear. Yes you can get non training job in psych. It's all depends upon you application. As you have experience in Psych definitely it will help you being shortlisted for interview when you will Apply for only Psych jobs
I don’t understand the video. They have increased the criteria for Oet and I have one year house job experience and I want to apply for F2 stand alone.
A.o.A dr Faraz i've a question regarding post housejob experience . What should the experience certificate include.? By this i mean suppose i work in a hospital in peripehry and get a experience certificate from that hospital . What would be included in this certificate.
Sir I have my gmc registration after plab 2. But oet score only 350, more than 2 years now. Should I retake oet to apply for f2 standalone ? Or since I have gmc reg no need to take oet ?
Oh thank you so much for replying sir . I am so much relieved . I was trying to search for information everywhere. With a small kid this is Such a relief . I hope I can apply coming January ❤️ thank you . Your videos are so helpful💐 😊
Hello, How about one does job in UK or Ireland (EU country) and recognise his/her medical diploma from their respective medical council, would he / she would be eligible to secure job in Switzerland/ Luxembourg?
Thank u for such informative videos doc I have completed the royal college exams and waiting for my GMC. Like in the vidoe most people have advised me to start with a non-training jobs rather than applying for ST3 directly. But i feel it would just delay the process of getting a cct. Can u plz tell me what r the risks involved and if it is at all advisable to start as ST3 in the UK if someone gets the chance? Is it even manageable? Any private academy or anything that could give induction for the same if required or is their shadowing first before starting as a st3?
Doctors all depends on you if you feel that you are confident and you can take the responsibility of sd3 it will be good to start. You know sometime what happened if you are going to start as a junior doctor and most of the time seniors take you as a junior and then you will stay at junior level. So if you are going to start at st3 level you know what will happen your level will be little senior and people will be giving you more value and consultant as well. And if you can manage initial two or three months of your st3 then what yes you can survive then. So I think it will be better if you can start at st3 level but before this just ask your department to give you a full shadowing of at least at least 4 to 6 months.
@@DrFARAZ-no7zj yes i did I am starting as a registrar in nhs from april. They said they will offer me the support as needed be it shadowing or initially working as a sho. I am hoping it will be alright.
I am doing fcps training in anaesthesia only 8-9 months left to be completed…. Am i eligible for FY1 or FY2 jobs??? As for the time being until i Could clear plab or any other uk exam… as my husband is in uk so i also havw dependant visa
if I have 12 months internship already before applying, can I apply for FY-1 nontraining jobs? or my options are only FY-2 level jobs (whether its standalone or non-training)?
@@DoctorsJourneytoUK thank you very much for your reply. Just to confirm there's no rule that says I'm overqualified for FY1 level jobs if I did internship already right?
