As a support main I had alot of fun playing tank and fisting everyone as Ramattra by being stronger than Thanos
Tank has always been strong. It just isn’t fun because all the cds are focused on you. They don’t need stat buffs, they need 6v6.
And since Tank is strong, it incentivises counter swapping (which on this patch is more effective). There is literal correlation between the strength of tanks and counter swapping. But Blizzard clearly thinks this is the OW direction smh.
and then we get 6v6 and have to deal with an extra set of CDs because we're playing Roadhog with a WB that's 65m away behind 7 walls half the game.

I think of 6v6 as better for everyone in the sense that some characters have to be buffed unfairly in certain ways since they are the ONLY tank. Tanks still kinda fall into the categories of main aggressor tanks and supporting tanks, like main and offtanks. Ball and doom basically need buffs to the moon and basically be unkillable in order for the 5v5 format to work with them since they dont actually have the tools and abilities to constantly be agressive or play with the team. Having only one tank turns a single person into a literal WALL that is essentially invincible, which instead they should actually NERF tanks by quite a bit, add a second one into the game, and design them to compliment eachother like they did in the past. Instead of making every single one overpowered by themselves. That way, if they play well together they will still be tanky of course, but breaking through a front line is possible for both teams.
Cooldown timings should definitely be nerfed across the board for 5v5 because orisa always having an ability to protect herself, zarya triple bubbling a rein, and many other examples would still be pretty oppressive in 6v6. If they decide to go back to it, its gonna have to be a HUGE balance patch and take a while to get right.
Agreed, you can't make ball playable in 5v5 without making him unbearable when you play against a really good one. It's not just ball of course, all the high-skill ceiling heroes feel terrible to play against when they are over tuned, but completely worthless if they are below a certain uptime threshold. 2 tanks allowed tanks to either feather or stack their cooldowns and engages in interesting ways that lead to plays being made.
Jay having the average tank experience is what I needed today 😂... literally went 31-0 and still lose my games just to get "trash tank" or "tank diff" every game... even if we win tanks still get flamed 😂😂😂

Keep all the new buffs and then just make the dps passive back to 20%. That should fix it, they didn't need a giga buff and turn off the passive so low.
Tanks are supposed to be tough. In an FPS-RPG game, DPS should not be able to take out a Tank in a 1v1... It's only when a Tank fights 2 dps, a fight becomes even.
Im a support main in Overwatch but ive been playing FPS-RPG games for over 20 years. The new patch is not broken. A little nerf on some tanks like mauga's 100% life steal, etc but the rest a good. Tanks needs to be able to handle high amount of damage.
