Gargoyles is a Disney cartoon that is rated TV-Y7... some how. It might be because they are using work arounds. Damaging stone or machines, which are not classified as human by the rating system. But they are human or human like.

Just remember, in a kid's show, you can get away with most anything if it's robots on the receiving end.

It's been relevant for a long time, but the severity ebbs and flows.
This show was fantastic! The quality and originality was superb. Even the latter season, the Goliath Chronicles, which dipped is still superior to most other shows.
There's just something so right about Jonathan Frakes playing an evil Tony Stark.

I've had a surprising amount of dreams where I meet Zanatos and he's the main villain in what ever is happening. Guess he had an impact in my subconscious haha
It was totally disturbing Jackal and Hyena voluntarily decided to become Cyborgs and Wolf a Mutant. At least Dingo had some sense to keep his humanity.

Gargoyles had some of the storylines in cartoon history. Good story arcs . And also cast members from the Star Trek The Next Generation and Voyager.

This show was incredibly cool, original, and the graphic is still excellent for today standards.
I saw this when I was 16 & the reason I like this show cause it's almost like BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES especially xanatos cause he looks actually like BRUCE WAYNE & has the mind of LEX LUTHOR
the stone virus episode feels like a fun prologue to doctor stone

The majority of the cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation did the voice acting. They almost had Patrick Stewart play King Arthur, but he was too busy doing stage shows.
You forgot one of the more daring examples. Specifically, Elisa Maza, a main character being shot with a bullet and visibly bleeding out on a kid’s show during the 90’s
I know, some times I forget some of the most obvious things.

Kids need to be scared by at least one episode of all their shows, just so they can face it as an adult

Now I wish Gargoyles will have a sequel, ignoring the final season of the original cartoon. Give it the X-Men '97 treatment, maybe bring in the animators of X-Men '97 into working for the sequel.

In today's entertainment climate, that is a HORRIBLE idea. Trust me, some things are best left in the past. All you need one wrong person in a vital position to ruin it all, for ego, for revenge, or just for laughs.

Man, I can't believe we haven't gotten a live action or CGI reboot. Perhaps with the success of X-Men 97, Disney will consider returning to the Gargoyles series.
Greg Weisman has been wanting to bring Gargoyles back for years. The voice actors are all on board too and regularly do dramatic readings of fanfiction at conventions. The closest thing we've gotten is a recent Marvel Comics continuation/reboot done in the style of X-Men 97. It's actually really good, but hasn't sold well because nobody knows about it.
Best voice talent great magic and myth making. Not too keen on the gargoyle variant villain of the week. Overall A+

Remember there's a huge lesson here our childhood entertainment rocked and one of the big reasons why is stuff like this didn't talk down to kids heck one of the main villains was a Shakespearean character this had some deep themes and meanings without being preachy any creative people in the audience don't talk down to your audience trust them to get it
"Without being preachy?" Goliath was nothing BUT preachy. I don't think an episode went by without him lecturing a villain or clan member. I mean, I liked that, but come on.

You have the Main Character of Kimagure Orange Road as profile picture. You would have like a KOR that could have been serious like Gargoyles, maybe exploring more its supernatural and sci-fi's sydes?

Funny. Kids anime can get away with stuff like this no problem. In the US, we act like kids can't handle anything that's not PBS approved. And it's only gotten worst today.
@VileGlory Except America itself has proven that children here can’t handle this stuff. Kids in America literally copy what they see in cartoons, shows, and social media. Why do we have so many school shootings? Because edgy white kids in the early 2000s literally spread that shit like a legend after columbine, empowering kids for generations to do destructive shit.
I remember the kids couldn’t stop talking about it. These same kids also thought it was okay to call people slurs so it also has a lot to do with family upbringing/their enviroment. So really it’s consuming destructive media and messages plus weak ineffect parenting that is rampant throughout the US. Also this show obviously wasn’t made for kids but had to be adapted for kids. Lots of animated shows had that issue with trying to be very serious but the networks not taking it seriously. Spawn was very popular around this time on HBO.

Which season are these from I just watched seasons 1 and 2 on Disney and don't recall most of this and the 3rd season on Disney doesn't seem like a finale to the show, tbh it feels kinda just random and it doesn't seem to end at that season, is there more that I just don't know about??? I'm super curious now lol
This is mostly from seasons 2 and 3. For example at 1:53 in the video is the episode "Future Tense" Season 2 Episode 43.
Greg Weisman is the creator of Gargoyles, but he did not work on Season 3, and many don't consider it canon or in line with Season 1 and 2.
