I don't think people hate Cp3 for his competitiveness. The dude is all-time great in that department where he expects the best out of everyone. He rubs people the wrong way because of the way the media portrays him as a stand up and respectful player when on the court he can actually be the opposite. He talks a lot of trash and instigates altercations with other guys from what I've seen but it could be more to it. It's known multiple NBA players have a problem with him but it's definitely not because of his competitive nature.

Blaming "cancel culture/generational differences" in my opinion is a cop out. As leaders our jobs is to get the most out of people we can. Not everyone is the same. Some you will have to lighten up on and some you have to be more direct. Your end goal should always be your desired outcome. So everything that you do should reflect on trying to get to your goal. Sometimes it's not always so cut and dry but it's a leaders job to recognize how you can get the most out of each player. The rare exception to that rule was Jordan but even he knew when to push some players, and when to back off(Rodman as an example.)

Also who knows if he’s still the same way Barnes described. I’ve heard nothing but respect when it comes to Suns and OKC players speaking of CP3

The fact that an out of prime CP3 can change the Suns organization around by being there is cray. Y'all go look up when the last time Suns were in the finals before CP3. He even turned the OKC team into a playoff team. I can understand people not liking how he plays calling him a dirty player (although plenty of players play like this especially in the past) i.e John Stockton, Dennis Rodman, Ron Artest, Kobe used to elbow people in the ribs and chest slickly.. I could go on. But these people are seen as "tough", CP3 is labeled as a dirty player. As soon as CP3 touched down in Phx they turned into contenders. Give him his flowers. But the disconnect for me is that once you’re all on that team young & old how do you communicate in such a way that every team you’re on they say the same thing about you how do you not think that maybe I need to change my approach, I mean maybe Chris & many other players just get a pass for that shit because they’re good players.
Also to add great players through out history specially Jordan got mad at team mate coz they couldn’t play at his level like how you gonna get mad at another man not being as good as you 😂
