- Well, with yet days to go before our official due date of this summer lambing group... we are BUSY with LAMBING!
Our pregnancy toxemia treatment and induction proved successful with both mamas lambing, but they've still got some issues.
We're still seeing some stillborns with this group, but hoping it's got more to do with multiples and less to do with disease... but I've got some to get sent for testing just to be sure.
Jess is having a worse week than her first on chemo, and I'm trying to juggle being a good mom and being a good sheep midwife.

Sandi, I have watched for a long time. I don't comment, but today I have to. You raise lambs,choose their mate's. Sell lambs. Nurse them when their sick deliver babies. Clean the barns. You work the fields like a pro. You are helping to build a cabin. You are a wife and mother. You are caring for your sick baby girl. Sandi you are super intelligent, hard working and a wonderful person. Please don't ever put yourself down. You are my Hero!!!! Praying for you and baby girl.

@Debs Charles Both now. She sends the wool from ewes and rans off, and the place makes different things like yarn and felting kits for us to buy. And then lambs go for meat.
Exactly!! She's made me really consider adding sheep to our homestead when we make our final move.

Sandi is amazing at all she does and so very well. I am encouraged just by watching how she can do so many things with the sheep, lambs, farm, tractors, and other equipment... I cannot image anyone saying such a false statement.

Agreed I wonder if she grew-up with some kind of trauma perhaps or her marriage has been hard. Some of the things mentioned like wanting her husband to stack the hay so he doesn’t complain and other things he just sort of comes of as an ass and not a very good husband.

Hi Sandi, due to my own illness I haven’t been watching any in a long, long time. This video came up today and I decided to watch. Loved the new lambs, cry at every loss. I was unaware of your daughters illness. When there is absolutely nothing to appropriately express what your heart feels I always catch myself saying…..I’m so sorry and I truly am. No one deserves the disease or the treatment for it. I have one on the worst cases of Systemic Lupus according to the specialists and have had for 15+ years along with other conditions to go along with it. I take a monthly infusion of what is known as Chemo for Lupus. My body produces cells to fight illness but sees literally every organ including heart, lungs, kidneys and blood cells as attacking enemies and tries to kill the organs off. Until the past 10 years or so there hadn’t been a new medication for Lupus. Nothing. I pray your sweet daughter is able to kill off her disease and get back to her normal life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire family and friends. Love you sweet Sandi! 💔❤️

You are walking a very hard road, and my heart goes out to you. I can only suggest that you take and notice, whatever small joys you can. An absorbing book, a great cup of coffee, a sunrise after a bad night, the goodness and courage of some people...they can strengthen you and keep your mind steady. I too have a chronic illness, nothing like yours thankfully, but this was the advice an older, experienced nurse gave me. It is true, it stops the pain and weakness from becoming the whole of your existence.

Sandi, I can’t imagine why people critique your process. You are successful and you have a process that works for you and your flock. Ignore them!
Haters gonna hate, no matter what. You've been proof positive of what works, & works well. A few minor glitches are to be expected. They're NOT failures--the haters are.
Because people have nothing better in their lives than critique others for a reaction. Makes them feel validated they exist if someone gives them a response.
Even I cannot give a critique on Sandi! Watching a video is not actually being there, so you cannot make any decisions based on it. I applaud Sandi as she is the only one who can make decisions based on everything that is going on behind the scenes. What these people say should hold no sway over Sandi's determinations. All I can do is say Sandi, you're the professional and I support any decision you make, period. My hat is off to her!
I was so sad when I heard her mention consistently giving disclaimers. A person can easily develop or exasperate anxiety by always thinking about what all million of us who watch these will think! Just be you and if people have questions fine but you never have to justify yourself to anyone!
Keep your confidence, you aren’t dumb. You are just very tired and totally stressed with worry about Jess. Believe in yourself, we all do!!

Good afternoon everyone. Hello Sandi. So sorry to hear that Jess is having a rough go of it. As Moms we can tell that ýou wish you could wave a magìc wand and make all of her pain go away. All of us are waving them wishing we could help you out. She is young, healthy and strong and you are taking it a day at a time. S he has the best family who love her and support her and the fact that she doesn't have classes right now is a bonus too. We pray every day that it goes well.Hugs through the phone.

Words are so inadequate at times. Telling you we love you means many things. Admiration, sympathy, encouragement, empathy and other big words that just say we are here for you and pray for the best outcome for Jess. You are courageous and strong whether you feel it or not. Sometimes the strength we have is not our own but that of a higher power. You are amazing.

I really enjoy these reality videos as they're very calming as well as interesting too. Sandi gives of herself in her profession with her experience & she allows us to see into her personal life. G-CSF drugs are life savers for chemo patients but they have some very annoying side-effects. They stimulate the bone marrow to create more cells which causes deep bone pain. Most patients can adapt but for the few who can't, the pain is overwhelming. I'm hoping that Jess is in the first group.
On my breast cancer forum I learned about avoiding the bone pain by taking Coricidin (not Coricidin-D) each day I was on the drug (I had to take it 8 days in my 15-day chemo cycle.) It works really well. That bone pain is no joke.
I am so sorry that Jess is not having an easy time with her chemo but she'll recoup well when she's through. I am wishing the best for her. Thanks for showing the stillborn lambs which other people may not show. Although it makes us sad, it shows the reality of lambing so many ewes.
