I'm really disappointed that the judge didn't hold him in contempt and jail him, like he would with any other defendant. I'm so sick of the leniency these judges show. It only enables him and emboldens him to be more and more outrageous, because there are never any consequences.

Judge Engoron is very smart. Allowing Trump to talk at all (when he knew he would start rambling on) was a good move -- gives Trump one less justification for appealing the decision. I mean, we all know he will appeal, but he can't claim the judge was unfair to him this way.

Why can we not just see what is happening inside? even through like a non-manned camera or something. This is one of the most important and consequential trials in American history and literally everything else is on camera.

A lot of courts don't allow cameras, it's why there are court sketches. I've heard a few arguments, -nice- none that sound particularly compelling though.

To trump: Washington also voluntarily pushed back against being named king or something similar (as was normal back in the day) and before term limits were a thing, didn't run for office after two terms as president.
