- The Crystal Collector back in his home state of North Carolina, finds himself at an organized digging event held by Digging with Daniel! This was a first time event at this brand new location and it yielded some fantastic finds for most that attended! Join in and see for yourself the fun that these crystal events can bring to anyone that attends. What a great time to be on the planet!

Green mica! I must obtain some! I'm a huge mica fan, ever since my parents took us to the (New Hampshire) Ruggles Mine, while on vacation in the 1960s. I love my collection of mica books... but GREEN? Yes, please! 💚
The double terminated smoky ones look like what we find at Mooralla in Victoria, Australia.
They form in Rhyolite geodes
And the deeper you dig, the bigger they get

daniel is a lying, conniving thief. he is only in it for himself and for the money. i went to one not knowing it was “digging w daniel” and not one person found a single crystal and everyone there paid $30. be careful fellow rockhounds, he is not what he seems to be. he should call his group “digging for daniel” because you are gonna do all the work and he’s going to take your crystals

Yeah, I was really impressed with the green market at this location, I would’ve collected way more if I would’ve known while they are, but didn’t realize it till I get home that it was really that good of a color

Yes, I knew they were green while it was collecting them but until I get home the next day, I didn’t realize how good they were or I would’ve stayed in collected way more, 😆
The color in those pieces is awesome! Nice subtle fades from clearish citrine into rich dark Morion zones. What a cool spot with a big turnout of people. Gets me hyped to work one of my spots tomorrow. I just freakin' love silicon dioxide in its prismatic forms! 😄 First thing I dug for and still my favorite.

I have tried looking for crystals for a long time but every time I fail I would love to come out to one of these places or dig up my own property but lack the money and equipment to do so I live in the foothills of North Carolina not even sure if my area has crystals
I live half a mile from this spot. I need to check it out I would love to find some smoky Quartz.

Where is it
Would you have any advice on where to dig for crystals? There is a local creek near me and I have found some quite pretty fragments of crystals in it. I want to try and figure out where in this creek that they are coming from
Too poor to go that far for rock's... but found a smoky quartz crystal in my yard...and Herkimer... amethyst... carnelian... regular quartz

Bryan do know of any places that are handicapped accessible, i also live in North Carolina. I would love to do soem rock hounding, i make jewelry but also collect specimens.
Some of the pay to dig sites like Cherokee ruby, mine I believe would be assessable. I need to make a playlist with all the locations that are accessible that way, that would be a great idea.
