Guys. EVERY. TIME. i blinked the contacts rotated slightly haha it's really obvious with dramatic ones like these. I gave up trying to adjust them after 5 mins. I can't take credit for intentionally turning them in each shot, but I'm glad some of you enjoyed the spinning effect. And for those who didn't, I'm sorry it was annoying! I just couldn't keep fiddling with my eyeballs as it would do more harm than good. So you'll just have to succumb to madness watching them turn !!!!!
Wanted to add something regarding the Yura bit. Since you surmised that the Frenzied Flame/Shabriri targets those in despair then Yura is actually a perfect candidate due to him pleading for Eleonora to stop tarnishing herself as a bloody finger.
Ranni’s ending: leave the lands between to be overrun by royal revenants Gold mask ending: destroy every royal revenant using healing incantations Standard ending: nothing changes Fia’s ending: idk something about skeletons Dung eater ending: vast increase in populations of royal revenants, rune bears, giant shrimp/crabs, giant rats, dogs, giant hands, and wormfaces
i was never sure how interpret it entirely, if life goes back to nothingness forever its kinda lame. if it all burns, goes back into a primordial soup and eventually sprouts back into life like a reboot then that's fine, maybe no royal revenant nonsense in the next lifecycle.
What disappoints me about this quest line is, you can use the frenzied flame to burn the Erdtree in Melina's stead, then use Miquella's Needle to purify yourself, so you can't end the game as the Lord of Frenzied Flame, but there's no alternative ending for this where Melina turns up and comments on it. It would've been nice to see *something* that acknowledges you both saving Melina and *not* leading the world to ruin. Come to think of it, this the ultimate FU to Shribri - and arguably the Greater Will - as you appear to give in to temptation by using the Frenzied Flame to save Melina, but then get rid of it once you're done with it, thus avoiding its negative consequences. (though, in that regard, it can also been seen as a narrative cop-out)
@@axu2378 I still think you are effectively cleaned of it and that's the intention. You have to use it in Placidusax's arena it doesn't work anywhere else like Malenia's and Millicent's. The arena and Placidusax himself are displaced in time, to even be there *you* have to be displaced in time as well. Basically you slip into another timeline or pocket epoch where the specific flame guiding you hasn't actually met you or made contact or doesn't even exist potentially, you use the needle to "block" the influence from outer beings, and when you slip back into the regular timeline your godjammer is already online permanently (as far as we know as there's no way to be re-ignited) shutting it out.
@@kylegonewild Could be, but it could also be that Frenzied Flame's influence is stronger than that of the rot god's, so Miquella's needle needs help from Placidusax's time power to lock it away. The reason I feel like Miquella's needle doesn't remove the frenzied flame from you is because of the item description and from the fact that when Millicent removes the needle she immediately succumbs to the Rot and turns into a flower, like the flood gates open and the effect bursts forth stronger than ever
In regards to being a narrative cop out, i dont think it is. That's because, according to the lore, placidusax is an incredibly powerful being. shit even in the game, he is one of the hardest bosses. The journey to him is just as hard as well. When you're on your way to get the frenzied flame, there is a "hidden" letter only accessible if an enemy attacks the rubble that's blocking it. I basically tells you that if you need the frenzied flame but want to get rid of it afterwards, you gotta do it in a place that is beyond time itself ( im paraphrasing cuz i dont remember what it said exactly). So you can think of it as the tarnished wants to save Melina, learns how badly she feels about you getting the flame, you finding out you can get rid of it through a very arduous journey, accpeting to do so even though she will hate you for it and proceeding with the plan. Remember, doing this means you're robbing her of her purpose. What she believes is her reason for being "alive," so it would make sense that she would be angry and not talk to you even if you didn't become the lord of chaos
@@JasonMC-wc1jr I fully agree. Despite how compassionate or caring you may be in trying to avoid Melina sacrificing herself, she fully believes it to be her one and only purpose. I honestly think it makes things alot more interesting and thought provoking. Why should she want to interact with someone that robs her of her purpose? What right does anyone have to decide someone else's fate against their wishes, no matter how noble it may seem? To what degree is doing so acceptable? Assuming she lives on without the player, maybe she finds new purpose and forgives the player but maybe not (cleansing the flame after burning the tree). For all we know it could be that she ceases to exist without purpose, we don't truly know much about her or the state of her existence. Perhaps we only see her/she continues to exist after the frenzy ending because she finds a new purpose in stopping your madness as a lord of frenzy.
Never really thought about it, but it does make perfect sense that Shabriri is so hated by everyone that wearing the talisman makes everyone more aggressive towards you lmao. Another amazing video as usual, Miss Chalice!
@@SuspiciousProgrammer you ever have a picture of someone you don't like, and just become angry by looking at them? same concept except instead of a photo, it's a talisman.
I loved that you said at the begginning "if you're new here, don't panic" because i did just that for a second. Just found your channel looking for videos to refresh my memory about elden ring lore, loved the video too 🥰
Bruh, that kale monologue gave me the chills. They cut so much cool stuff. I hope they release a “directors cut” of Elden ring and implement all this cut content. Great video miss Chalice!
great vdeo as always! I definitely lean more towards Hyetta being a separate entity somehow, whether it's an amnesiac Irina or something else entirely. I think "Shabriri pretends the whole time" is something we just don't have any evidence for outside of "he did it cause it's chaotic". I think him robbing Irina of her memories, bestowing her a new name and tricking her into eating her own father's eyes is far more in line with what we know of his character and seems less like conjecture compared to the alternative.
shabriri is also known for lying and slander so I believe that to be more likely, he told the resurrected girl about how tasty the "grapes" are as he sends the maddened individuals towards her. he might also be only able to possess 1 individual at a time and probably designed her as another way to guide some oblivious individual(like the player) to the 3 fingers.
While Hyetta and Irina undoubtedly have some sort of connection, they're definitely different entities. After Hyetta shows up and you talk to her, you can go back to where Irina died and still find her corpse there. I'm fairly certain that in the case of Yura, his body disappears when Shabriri takes over it, though I'll have to double check. So at the very least they have separate bodies.
Nailed the look there! I really love this storyline in Elden Ring, but I decided to do what Vyke failed at: saving my maiden. Yes, I had to see her disappointment in me, but after burning the tree you can use the unalloyed gold needle to remove the influence of outer gods and proceed to become a proper Lord. So many stories need to be seen to their end to get there, but it makes it all the more worth it.
34:13 I fully believe he is at least partially responsible for the slander against the Nomads. I think that he was already on the path of the Frenzied Flame but got caught and this along with his slander caused him to transcend into a god of the Frenzied Flame. Ultimately i think that the equivalent of the Elden Beast for the Frenzied Flame is the three fingers and that Shabriri was chosen to be the god of chaos.
Geez, you really pulled out the stops on this one. Those effects are crazy good, the burns look so incredibly real and the glowing yellow eyes are the icing on the cake. Whole look goes harder than diamonds.
The eye of Sauron reference at Frenzied Village was such an awesome thing to run into my first playthrough..I never killed the villagers on the tower because i liked it so much; made Vyke a lot harder though lol
Great video and cosplay as always, Chalice! Also, so cool of you to present this path as a valid Chaos ending, instead of as the "bad" ending--not that I'd want it haha 😂
What is interesting is that the 2 fingers (ring and middle finger) represent the Erdtree's will while the 3 fingers (thumb/pointer/pinky) represent the Flame of Frenzy's will , the will of life and the will of death one completing each other yet apart , without life there is nothing to die and without death there is only existance but not life. I wonder if we ever get the 5 fingers as the hand of fate type of deal , excellent video btw the cosplay rocks Edit - from the cut voice lines it is clear that Shabriri is trully evil in his ways by the way he says "may chaos take the world" while Kale (merchant) who went through all the trauma and hardship says those words with a tired voice like someone wishing for their burden to stop no matter the outcome after. One wants to see the world burn and the other wishes for their burden to burn even if it burns the world itself
I don't really have anything of value to add except that your cosplay is straight up fire (pun intended)! Those scars must have taken hours to put on and the constantly shifting contacts give it such a nice, unique touch, great work!
The lore, the topic... The cosplay. Chalice, this is easily some of your best work. One thing I have to wonder about Heytta is if she can be trusted as genuinely being her own person, or if she, like Shabriri, is a liar. After all, she looks very similar to Irina and presents herself as a friend in the same way Shabiri wears the flesh of Yura to appeal to our empathy. I also love this retrend From Software did with the Shabriri Grapes. Eyes for guidance, to seek a greater truth only to fall prey to Madness. It is quintessential Bloodborne. "Grant us Eyes..." I also love how your look here is like a merging of someone who has been possessed by the Three Fingers and Melina's Frienzed Flame Ending look. And the scar work on your shoulders is very solid. Lastly, loves your little quips. "Nothing bad ever happened because of that..." Cheeky as hell. Haha
adding: audio quality is bomb as, chalice somehow still refining her unalloyed gold. chalice is one of the few people who transcripts the closed captions; a minor detail but extremely appreciated (watching this on a train on mute, without missing a word 👌)
I’ve always thought the frenzied flame is created or summoned by the unfairly persecuted and mistreated. It’s possible Shabriri was trying to bring someone powerful to justice and only called out to the frenzied flame after the town attacked him. That would be very dark souls-esk. Idk it’s just a theory but I think it works okay
when i first played the game i took my character getting the frenzied flame ending as basically the ultimate way to give up on everything. i roleplayed that they were truly someone who cared for people they came across and tried to complete and help as many people on their quest as possible. With so many quests ending with unfortunate deaths and sheer hopelessness like Blaidd or eiji both being killed or thops dying in the academy made the tarnished see that there was almost no hope in the world. not to mention what happens in jarburg or to alexander or the existence of the dung eater alone. they decided that by giving in and wiping the slate clean something better would come of the world, one where everything is returned to a single being and no conflict ever happen again.
I LOVE the fact I was drawn to follow the frenzied flame questline and ultimately choosing the frenzy flame for my ending. Absolutely fantastic video! I didn't even know it was that deep
I just wanna say you have made an awesome video. The mixing of your voice while playing the dialogues of npc's flows so smooth, your own voice's volume and tone blends to well whenever you cut to the game voice overs its so wonderful to listen to. Brilliant editing and voice over and mixing it all together in a perfectly balanced visual and auditory experience.
That cosplay is so simple and yet, incredibly well done. I would genuinely recoil if I'd be to see it in person, the flesh is just the perfect copy of a burn. I thank the algorithm for showing me your channel. The first video I watched was about my favorite base game NPC, Thops. This one is about my favorite ending. Let chaos take the world!
this cosplay is actually so cool, I don't know why but there's something special about it. Also I feel like you've gotten so much more confident in your videos and you absolutely should be.
The Frenzied Flame is literally an amalgamation of suffering, trauma, and other horrific things pouring out of the eyes of the tormented. There was NO WAY in HELL I wasn't going to main that. I always started as someone chasing the flame of frenzy, but upon discovering Miquella's Haligtree, Malenia and Millicent I always find the Needle & I never go for the frenzied flame ending. It's too horrible to burn everything to ash... No, I can't just wipe out any trace that Malenia or Millicent were ever there. I refuse.
I think Midra from the DLC adds a whole other lair to this because it confirms *why* we succeed at being lord of Frenzied Flame while Midra initially failed. Those who fall to the FF are often heard ranting/begging for it to burn away all that divides and distinguishes. Order imposes arbitrary distinctions and divisions to the world by arranging people or things in relation to each other according to a particular sequence. The sequence doesn't matter, the placing irrelevant; if the Order cannot find a place for a thing, it will be made to suffer one way or another. Such exclusion and abuse can be explained and rationalized (Messmer's crusade against the Hornsent, quashing the Fire Giants), but as time goes on it simply becomes what one does to those outside the Order (the Albanaurics, Misbegotten, Omens, ect...). This is incidentally why Goldmask got exiled for doubting the so-called "perfect" Golden Order, as it had failed to make a place for those outside of grace and relentlessly repressed/exterminated them. The FF is called by the despair of those whom fall outside the prerogatives of any given Order, the song of the downtrodden and disregarded, those that never live but only survive. As Marika herself put it, one outside Order is doomed to "wallow at the fringes; a powerless upstart". During the time of the Hornsent, this was the Numen and other non-horned humans and during Marika's time it was all those not guided by grace. It is beckoned only by those truly desperate and who have nothing else to lose, who would rather rip off their heads than endure another minute, who have come to hate the world so much for the life it has given them that they'd rather see it all burn. Thus, the Lord of Frenzied Flame needs to be strong enough to withstand all the pain caused by the divisions and distinctions of Order. Vyke may actually have been strong enough to withstand the process, but the death of his maiden made the entire exercise pointless and he got jailed. Midra was too weak to be a lord at first but after a few centuries of without a spine and our bonks made him Lord if only briefly. We are the best candidate due to us actually being strong enough to be a Lord, and have directly endured all the pain, hardship and suffering required. We are a Tarnished exile of the old Order, by the time we reach mountaintop we've likely lived through a dozen or more tragedies and have some idea of just how broken this world is, while all the awful deaths we went through has taught us pain like few before us. Given what the Outer Gods are based on, the Frenzied Flame is especially scary as it seems to be a blend of the King in Yellow and Nyarlathotep. The former for obvious reasons, the latter because Shabriri (the FF's mouthpiece) is one of the few Outer Gods that seems to display deliberate maliciousness, and actively interacts with mortal-kind, seemingly for kicks. It takes a particular kind of nasty for the Hornsent to come off looking reasonable and just, but the Frenzied Flame is that kind of nasty.
The fact that you severely burned yourself for this video shows how truly dedicated you are to content creation and how passionate you are about storytelling. I aspire to be as dedicated as you to something that I'm this passionate about. You are such an inspiration.
LETS GO, my favorite ending from my favorite lore Mistress. "I burned myself" "To save the poor girl" "The voices told me tooo"😊 "May chaos TAKE THE WORLE" 😊
You sound like you belong in a Souls game. I absolutely love it. Just stumbled on the channel and now I'm binge watching the videos for all the sweet lore. Keep it up, ya do an absolute bang up job on the videos and the radical cosplays for them.
your cosplays are SO SICK and I feel your recent videos don't show them off enough. I respect you wanting to keep attention on the game footage but you deserve to revel a little bit! We see you putting in that effort
Oh, i always took the frenzied flame at its word, although balked at it's choice in vessels (shabriri) (if he's as bad as descriptions say.) I always assumed since a hand has 5 fingers, and there are two and then three, that the greater will is a part of the "one great" and that those that suffer in the face of order(reality)(cause and effect), which is what I thought the greater will embodied, were an unfortunate consequence of all these divides and distinguisments (things act on other things, and that ability (reality) causes suffering whether deserved, or not (dependent)) So the Golden order and the two fingers buried the distress, the crys of those that reality/order's existence caused suffering, and thereby buried the three fingers (idk if they're a real entity, or a metaphoric one). This 3 fingers, or the part that suffers due to reality, or the capacity for choice that matters (cause and effect) wants to "burn" it, which means destroy all the life perhaps matter that has this agency, this cause and effect capacity, this reality, that brings about this suffering. The frenzied flame woshipers "howling without words, that they wish they were never born" The three fingers is this violent reappropration of life/matter in the face of this suffering, a mercy if one believes the suffering of life and reality is not worth the price of existence. Or in melina's case, an atrocity, if one views life as more worthy than the suffering it entails. But that was just my personal interpertation. The game is so vague, I may have just been imposing my own personal views into it, and it had nothing to do with these concepts at all.
Something you may also consider is that the "three fingers" are actually two fingers and a thumb. Symbolically, it follows that if the two and three fingers were rejoined, it would symbolize balance.
As a more recent player of Elden Ring, having only beaten it for the first time a few days ago, your videos have been an amazing experience to have. Your way of explaining the lore and characters, while having your own interactive way of connecting to the community and its game is unique and special. I do love this videos ever so much as a lore head myself lol, so thank you for the amazing uploads and please keep up the amazing work! :)
One personal theory I do have regarding the Frenzied Flame is that Shabriri was actually the one who was at fault for the nomadic merchants being sealed underground. I see it as that Shabriri was always a worshipper of the Frenzied Flame, even before losing his eyes. I think he spread the rumor that the merchants were heretics, causing them to get sealed underground. I believe this is the crime of slander that got his eyes removed. After this the Frenzied Flame inhabited his eyes. I'm pretty sure the reason he did slander the merchants was because he hoped their despair would summon the Frenzied Flame, which manifested as the Three Fingers.
been loving pidge's work forever, this has been a delightful collab and dive into my favorite storyline in elden ring! it's a haunting tale that few other pieces of fiction ever really attempt to tell, what happens when despair takes hold... and who takes advantage of that! your videos are a awesome as always, can't wait for you to make sense of what will be in the DLC soon.
No one person should ever have the right to decide who lives and who dies. There is evil in the world yes, but seeking the Frenzied Flame is to deny those who are undoubtedly pure of heart and soul. Roderika, Boc, Miriel…these few are all the proof one needs to see that goodness exists and can continue to exist. If the solution for all problems is oblivion, then it is no solution at all.
The frenzied flame is always such a fun topic to talk about, the vibe I always get from is it's like hell... yet worse in every way. Also, the eyes on the cosplay were very cool I swear they pierced into my soul lmao.
@@alexanderayotte8867To serve the frenzied flame might be motivated by nihilism but ultimately letting the "Chaos take the world" is far from nothingness. Suffering becomes indiscriminate.
@@axu2378 Suffering necessitates being a living being to experience it. Life *IS* suffering as some religions and philosophies would say. A world devoid of distinguishable life is a world devoid of suffering by definition. The Frenzied Flame doesn't seek to simply burn, but to utterly consume. It doesn't feel motivated by nihilism to me, but transcendent retribution; righteous fury and indignation unshackled from the ties that bind. If life is suffering then the only way to truly stop the suffering and receive justice is to reduce everything to cinders as the suffering and injustice and division and pain will continue as long as life does. We are all equal in the embers of a burned world. Not saying this is my belief necessarily but how I imagine it's meant to come off. The cut Kale questline more readily points to the righteous indignation that motivates those who actively seek to invoke the Frenzied Flame. The flame speaking through Shabriri's soul or whatever understands the concept of injustice, it's how it preyed upon Vyke and attempts to prey upon you. The way the flame speaks about separation and division *DRIPS* with bitterness, resentment, and offense as if the very notion is an affront to existence itself. The Flame may actually be the first to have suffered, the first to be severed from the Great One.
@@axu2378the suffering does not become indiscriminate, there isn’t any suffering. Nor is there any splendor. There is nothing, no good, no evil, and no opportunity to make anything better. It is pure Mephistophelian nothingness. The world doesn’t deserve to exist because of the suffering incurred but without the possibility of suffering there no chance for the good either.
Excelente video and better cosplay. Recently I started to see your lorevideos and I hope you make the second part with Midra, the Lord of Frenzy Flame, I feel that it's worth it see you exploring that narrative line.
I did not look long at the thumbnail so I didn't notice the contacts, scared the crap out of me but bloody awesome all the same. BTW the burn make up looks really cool too.
I was shocked when I first saw the camera and realized you were actually doing a cosplay and that it wasn't just an effect you had in the thumbnail- it looks AMAZIN
This is an awesome deep dive on this part of the lore. I find it a crime that Kale's questline with the merchants was cut, because the entire speech he gives is a masterclass in voice acting! Also, always love the cosplays! Incredibly well done, and honestly inspires me to want to get back into it myself 😄 (My boi Blaidd would be so epic to pull off if i had the time 😂)
Our Lore princess is back! I'm still trying to make my boyfriend get interested in Elden Ring. I'll show him this video, wish me luck. GORGEOUS COSPLAY BTW 😮 I GAGGED
I absolutely love your delivery and writing in every video you make. All the little details and effort you put in making them, from the editing, voice changes, music to cosplay, is always appreciated!!! Thank you so much for sharing your work with us. You are inspiring my creativity with every video!!!
I've always thought it odd that considering the Frenzied Flame's patronage of the unjustly tormented and suffering, that people just take Shabriri's guilt as a matter of fact. Slander is one of the easiest crimes to falsify. It's a crime often used by the powerful to silence criticism. Same with the Nomads, accused of Heresy, another crime used to oppress. Irina's death was a senseless tragedy, why would Hyetta not be another such victim which came to possess Irina's corpse? Maybe even Vyke's maiden? This idea that the Three Fingers and the Flame of Frenzy are somehow deceitful or hiding something just doesn't hold up to scrutiny. Shabriri straight up tells you he wants Chaos to reign, which is why it stands at odds to all the other endings, because all other endings involve repairing (or in the case of Ranni, replacing) the Golden Order of Marika. If anything, considering all the secrets and lies wrought by Marika, of the history before the Erdtree which has been erased, it's the Golden Order that has been openly deceitful. How "good" or "bad" the Frenzied Flame ending is *should* be ambiguous, which is part of why I think they took out Kale's quest, since it would too clearly set the Frenzied Flame as a force for righteousness. Doubt is important in the storytelling. You can't *know* for certain if what you're doing is right. To me, the ending is more akin to letting the fire burn out in the first Dark Souls. Yes, the current Order will be burned away, yes, there will be chaos, but will it always be chaos? Does burning it all away ensure that nothing new will come from the ashes? It just feels shortsighted to think so.
Yes, letting the Frenzied Flame burn it all to hell indeed prevents anything from ever coming into existence. Because the Frenzied Flame hates everything, and now that it has its hateful hands on the world you best believe it's not going to let things like matter, energy or thought exist in its perfect nothing soup.
The slow torment and eventual death of every living being is not worth the mere chance of something else rising to replace the past. You can let the Golden Order die just as well with Ranni
Its nothing like Dark Souls, in the Dark Souls, wheb the fire burns out, then comes the age of dark. Man still thrives. Nothing is thrives in the Frenzies flame ending. Melina literally tells you this. You are a fool if you believe Frenzy to be equal to the age of dark.
@@mulletalchemist oh my God. This isn't Dark Souls! This isn't the age of fire/age of dark cycle! The Frenzied Flame genuinely hates all existence. It will actively and perpetually burn away everything until it's all one thoughtless, soulless, formless mass.
There is no way you can make something good out of the frenzied flame and the game tells you this multiple times It is not a new order, It is not a new era, It is not good. It is the death of all things, the burning of a world, A fractured world? Yes but one that can be Fixed, A world that can learn to breath again. Frenzied flame ending is NOT a good ending no matter how you look at it
I don't actively play Elden Ring, but I love the lore and I absolutely love your videos! Your cosplays are beautiful, your voice is amazing and the way you research and present all this is stunning. It must take a long time and dedication to look into all this and connect the dots, you're doing a great job! It's the perfect way of explaining lore and theories!
The point of the Frenzied Flame is: The Greater Will created life. And with it, the inevitable side effects of suffering, affliction and torment. Life has emerged from the One Great - the fracture that has been mentioned. That was its so called mistake. When life came to be, so came the Frenzied Flame - the manifestation of the desire to end it all. Shabriri was the first to hit a point of no return and soon after, many followed. As long as there is life, so there will be suffering. And as long life exists, the Frenzied Flame exists.
First video of yours I’ve found and I greatly enjoyed. And the cosplay is, of course, elite. My interpretation is that the slander Shabriri committed was in fact the accusation of the Nomads heresy. It would explain why ‘slander’ resulted in such a grievous punishment. I also think it works with the wording of Shabriri’s talisman: “the flame of Frenzy _came to rest_ in his eyes.” I believe the Golden Order condemned the Nomads, discovered evidence of Shabriri’s lies after the fact, and had him killed. The Nomads, in their suffering, conjured the flame out of despair and a desire for justice. Kale describes his people as deeply unforgiving: “If someone wrongs us - show them no mercy.” It would make sense for the curse of the flame to come to rest in their accuser’s eyes; the one responsible for their plight.
I was taken aback for a sec after seeing the cosplay, I thought you were using editing and special effects for a second but then I took a closer look and could see all the intricate detial that went into the burn marks, and the yellow eye shadow made it look like your eyes were actually glowing, this is some awesome stuff wtf bro!
I just wanted to say, as a huge fan of Elden Ring and its lore, ESPECIALLY the lore behind frenzy and madness, what you have put together here is wonderful. With the addition of the cosplay you put on to enhance the story, I couldn't be more delighted in watching these. So I wanted to say thank you for putting together such interesting, beautiful, and compelling videos. You have my subscription.. and all my friends (whom of which are all lore fanatics) also are on to your videos too.. Thanks again and please keep making more fantastic videos. P.S. you have a wonderful storytelling voice :]
I just found this channel out of nowhere while looking for something to listen to while exploring in Elden Ring, you make utterly fantastic content here with the lore dives and that incredible cosplay. So much love to you, and let chaos take the world!
I didnt even notice the burns in the thumbnail but seeing them on the first view of you mixed with the eyes makes the cosplay look amazing, plus the soothing voice makes it feel like a frenzied person able to control it And i know its been talked about to death but a small Sekiro lore video cosplaying as Emma would be quite fascinating
An awesome Frenzied Cosplay. My first ending was Frenzied Flame. The DLC 3 hour preview event had an item description come out that makes it look like we are going to get more lore on the Frenzied Flame!
my goodness, the cosplay was amazing, and the video so good! Storytelling in the video is top notch best of the best! Loved it! Soooo informative. love your work
What if Shabriri's eyes got removed because he was gossiping based on what he saw, like "I saw so and so doing this" I also think the 'madness' is succumbing to despair, particularly with the tarnished warriors, most of them get infected when their maiden dies including Irina's father
Great video and cosplay! The frenzied flame ending is really cool and going further and further under leyndell to eventually make it to the three fingers is one of my favorite parts in the game. If only the nomads had known about the invisible wall leading to the deeproot depths they could have escaped and hung out with Godwyn's corpse instead of going out the way they did 😂
What a gorgeous cosplay! I've always thought the frenzy flame has such a cool aesthetic. I just recently found your channel, and it's incredible! Thank you so much for everything you put out. This game has a lot to swallow and you are such a tremendous help.
What a truly compelling and in depth look at this questline in the game. I found the Frenzied Flame ending as the 'best' one in terms of the answers and questions it presents. Well done on the video.
Another fantastic look into one of the deeper stories in Elden Ring. I really liked this ending as it parallels a lot of sentiments where people who live in unfair conditions or suffering, who can also see the corruption of the world, may wish for a 'reset' or to take it further with their despair 'burn it all'. Understanding the cycles that people go through, there will always be unbalance, there will always be those who have and don't have and its not a far stretch for those who know how bad it can be to think 'If it always going to be chaos then why not embrace it'. Did you ever find out why Millicent's clothes are beside the big flower beside Melania's fight chamber? The video you did that covers the 4 sisters as experiments for the rot always had me intrigued. I feel like something was missing there.
15:25 my headcanon for this is Hyetta simply isn't moving in 3-dimensional space. We meet her in or near places that have some significance to the overall story of the Frenzied Flame. When her vision of the "distant light" is sufficiently clear (right after eating a "grape", she walks the path it lights. If this sounds based on a certain passage from "Dreams in the Witch-House" by Lovecraft, well, yes.
The contacts and burn markings look AMAZING in today's cosplay Miss Chalice! It really looks like you've taken audience with the Three Fingers! And of course, amazing lore video as always. Absolutely love the Frenzied Flame and I REALLY hope we get both more lore on it and more importantly, its heavily implied connection to Sleep also. I am hoping we get some big discoveries on both fronts, (and some kickass new related weapons/magic!)
Just found this channel and it makes me far more confident on my own world commentary to hear someone so passionate to, can’t wait to see more of these
I just recently got this ending, and I also just recently discovered your channel. The contacts look great, and I love how deep you go into the lore! Shabriri is an NPC I've been wanting to understand more.
Guys. EVERY. TIME. i blinked the contacts rotated slightly haha it's really obvious with dramatic ones like these.
I feel like it added to the cosplay! A way of showing the madness attached to the shibriri grapes 😵💫
lol it fit the theme perfectly 😂
So fixated on the lore didn't notice heheh
Lol I thought I was trying when I say them at a 90 degree angle and was like "did they always look like that?"
Wanted to add something regarding the Yura bit. Since you surmised that the Frenzied Flame/Shabriri targets those in despair then Yura is actually a perfect candidate due to him pleading for Eleonora to stop tarnishing herself as a bloody finger.
can't believe miss chalice is so dedicated she actual got the frenzied flame from the lands between just to explain it to us
it's fine, she can just stick a needle in her eye and it will go away. :P

Unpopular opinion: this is the best ending, not because of edginess, but because a world where royal revenant exists does not deserve to exits.
Neither do taxes
Best ending because the merchants get revenge
Ranni’s ending: leave the lands between to be overrun by royal revenants
Gold mask ending: destroy every royal revenant using healing incantations
Standard ending: nothing changes
Fia’s ending: idk something about skeletons
Dung eater ending: vast increase in populations of royal revenants, rune bears, giant shrimp/crabs, giant rats, dogs, giant hands, and wormfaces
royal revenant is certainly a reason to burn all of creation to naught.
i was never sure how interpret it entirely, if life goes back to nothingness forever its kinda lame. if it all burns, goes back into a primordial soup and eventually sprouts back into life like a reboot then that's fine, maybe no royal revenant nonsense in the next lifecycle.
(though, in that regard, it can also been seen as a narrative cop-out)
Miquella's needle doesn't get rid rid of the influence of the Outer Gods, it keeps them at bay. So you might just be a walking time bomb

Kale’s monologue with that song in the background is peak Elden Ring. A shame we didn’t get it in the final release.
great vdeo as always!
Sick cosplay Miss Chalice!

Ultimately i think that the equivalent of the Elden Beast for the Frenzied Flame is the three fingers and that Shabriri was chosen to be the god of chaos.

Miss Chalice accepted the Frenzied Flame from the Three Fingers just for this video - gotta respect the dedication!
I wonder if we ever get the 5 fingers as the hand of fate type of deal , excellent video btw the cosplay rocks
Edit - from the cut voice lines it is clear that Shabriri is trully evil in his ways by the way he says "may chaos take the world" while Kale (merchant) who went through all the trauma and hardship says those words with a tired voice like someone wishing for their burden to stop no matter the outcome after. One wants to see the world burn and the other wishes for their burden to burn even if it burns the world itself
What if Shabriri was the one who slandered the caravan after being infected by the frenzy, which led to their imprisonment?
That makes a maddening amount of sense.

These cosplays must take so long to do. Imagine how many times you had to do that stupid parkour to get down there!
I know right? And to remove it she has to clear Millicent's quest AND beat Malenia. Her dedication is amazing!!
"Grant us Eyes..."
I also love how your look here is like a merging of someone who has been possessed by the Three Fingers and Melina's Frienzed Flame Ending look. And the scar work on your shoulders is very solid.
Lastly, loves your little quips. "Nothing bad ever happened because of that..." Cheeky as hell. Haha
adding: audio quality is bomb as, chalice somehow still refining her unalloyed gold.
chalice is one of the few people who transcripts the closed captions; a minor detail but extremely appreciated

That cosplay is gnarly! So cool.

this cosplay is actually so cool, I don't know why but there's something special about it.
I refuse.
This is how I feel about Dungeater's ending. *I WILL NEVER- AND I MEAN NEVER* even touch dungeaters quest or character in any way.
I always get the frenzied flame for the aesthetic, and then decide if the character I’m playing would go for the ending or cure themself
coomer
I'm headed to find the needle myself. Though... I still may burn it all.
That's exactly why I killed fake Yura on sight.
1:29 bruh almost gave me a heart attack

That thumbnail 😮😍
your cosplays are SO SICK and I feel your recent videos don't show them off enough.
Jep that is my theory too!
been loving pidge's work forever, this has been a delightful collab and dive into my favorite storyline in elden ring! it's a haunting tale that few other pieces of fiction ever really attempt to tell, what happens when despair takes hold... and who takes advantage of that!
your videos are a awesome as always, can't wait for you to make sense of what will be in the DLC soon.
If the solution for all problems is oblivion, then it is no solution at all.
oh my gosh, I thought that was character art on the thumbnail! Girl that is some SERIOUSLY good cosplay, WOWWIE 😳🫠
The frenzied flame is always such a fun topic to talk about, the vibe I always get from is it's like hell... yet worse in every way.
Also, the eyes on the cosplay were very cool I swear they pierced into my soul lmao.
Hell is at least a direction it has a substance even if it’s the absence of good. The frenzied flame is pure nihilistic nothingness
@@alexanderayotte8867To serve the frenzied flame might be motivated by nihilism but ultimately letting the "Chaos take the world" is far from nothingness. Suffering becomes indiscriminate.
It’s not even hell…the Frenzied Flame is literally oblivion. No life or death, no kingdom to rule over…the universe is destroyed. And for what?

There is no way you can make something good out of the frenzied flame and the game tells you this multiple times
It is not a new order, It is not a new era, It is not good.
I too watched the video
That was the coolest thumbnail design if I've ever seen one.
OMG you did not have to go THAT hard on the cosplay 👀 those scars are awesome
I was taken aback for a sec after seeing the cosplay, I thought you were using editing and special effects for a second but then I took a closer look and could see all the intricate detial that went into the burn marks, and the yellow eye shadow made it look like your eyes were actually glowing, this is some awesome stuff wtf bro!
Your contacts spinning around in your eyes adds to the frenzied nature of the cosplay I like it
I just wanted to say, as a huge fan of Elden Ring and its lore, ESPECIALLY the lore behind frenzy and madness, what you have put together here is wonderful.
I didnt even notice the burns in the thumbnail but seeing them on the first view of you mixed with the eyes makes the cosplay look amazing, plus the soothing voice makes it feel like a frenzied person able to control it
And i know its been talked about to death but a small Sekiro lore video cosplaying as Emma would be quite fascinating
The cosplay was unsettling which I guess it means you did a good job. Probably my favorite cosplay you have done so far.
The pupils being misaligned and repositioning throughout the video is a great indicator of Madness for your cosplay.
I love the vibe of this video, it feels like you're having more fun with it and not just recording it or something idk
the video was all the info i needed but i kept getting distracted by how perfect and cute the cosplay and the make-up looked on you!!!
you doing cosplay of the tematic of the video is INSANE
good work, i love your stuff
O M G. Miss Chalice you have gone above and beyond on this outfit. That ensemble is downright AMAZING. I had to pause to take it all in. Amazing
Damn, your voice is enthusiastic and soothing. Your reading of the lore tabs on armor, items and narration sounds like in-game dialogue 😊
The thumbnail and your cosplay for this video is insaneee. Amazing work like always Miss Chalice 👏🏼👏🏼
An awesome Frenzied Cosplay. My first ending was Frenzied Flame. The DLC 3 hour preview event had an item description come out that makes it look like we are going to get more lore on the Frenzied Flame!
This is some of the most effort i've seen go into a lore vid, amazing cosplay
my goodness, the cosplay was amazing, and the video so good! Storytelling in the video is top notch best of the best! Loved it! Soooo informative. love your work
This is one of your more impressive cosplays. The eyes and burn marks your totally awesome. I loved how you explained everything. Amazing video
What if Shabriri's eyes got removed because he was gossiping based on what he saw, like "I saw so and so doing this"
I also think the 'madness' is succumbing to despair, particularly with the tarnished warriors, most of them get infected when their maiden dies including Irina's father
This Cosplay is amazing, your content is also so well articulated you could seriously voice over nature documentaries with that voice
I thought it looked incredible! I always love it when you do cosplay for your lore videos, but I thought you really outdid yourself with this one
your voice is extremely soothing. i could listen to you talk for hours
Loved this video. The cosplay and eyes are so eerily attractive. Also, I’m so impressed at how good your story telling has gotten. A true scribe!
Very nice cosplay. How you made it look like your eyes are melting/crying with the yellow color, gave it a nice touch and attention to detail.
This cosplay is really striking and looks really really good, especially for the topic! And excellent lore discussion as always, thank you Chalice!
