Noticed the problem when the steam doesn't work and the iron just warm not hot at all. Try this method and now i know why the descale light keep blinking 😁
The 1st time i pour the water out, the limescale was white & thick! I repeat the same procedure for 3 times and then switch on the steam iron. Exactly after 20 times the blue light was blinking, the descale light went off. Glad my iron working as usual.

Use a Torque wrench with a 17mm attachment folks. Worked for us this morning.

after descaling my steamer which by the way to open the bolt screw I could not move it key useless but manage to unscrew it empty water 2 times but now my steamer does not work anymore. all lights on buzzing then switch himself.. so what should I do?

I have done as you say in your video but my light is still on and the light is saying water empty when it is full please any advice
How does it know there is limescale buildup in the boiler? Is it on a timer or how many cycles it gets used?
I ask as I have softened water with no limescale at my home and it seems like the iron still wanted descaling.
Myiron has been regularly cleaned but now it won't steam. Any suggestions.
There is a design fault on this iron. The bolt is too tight because of pressure. The key is useless. In the end I resorted to using a torque wrench. Normally for car bolts!!!
Why a torque wrench. I just used a 3/8th ratchet and an allen socket. Any pressurised vessel will need a tight fitting plug, otherwise it wouldn't hold pressure.

Unscrewing the bolt was a nightmare. As I didn't have a 17mm socket which would have made this easier than using the key provided.. I wedged a flat head screwdriver into one of the grooves and used a hammer to lightly hammer on the end of the screw driver which managed to loosen the bolt and got the screw off! Hope this helps someone. 🙏

I have never been able to open the bolt at the bottom - the key ended up twisted, I called MR and was advised to buy a spanner/rench and that didn't work. I'm just waiting for it to conk out!
Sooo annoying. Never again. My other steam iron was fantastic. Won't buy morphy Richards again!
I have followed these instructions to the letter but when I plug my iron back in and switch it on - nothing happens at all! The rescale light stays on and the pump doesn't make a sound?!? If I hold the steam button in on the iron still nothing happens. I rinsed the tank out 3 times and shook it till it was completely empty. What's so frustrating is all the comments from people experiencing the same thing but no response or additional advice from morphy Richards. It's a Sunday so I can't call them up for advice either. There goes my ironing pile - growing ever higher just after Xmas!

Hi, I have problem with the water tank indicator. It is indicating to top up the water tank. It is full, but there are no pumping noise. It doesn't recognise that the tank is full. I was advised by customer services to put vaseline (yes 😊) on the white rubber bits that contact with the water tank. It did work, but not anymore. Please let me know if I can fix this. Thank you.

I have an iron the same as this but there is a problem. The water tank is full but the light at the back bottom says water empty and when u press the steam there is no water coming out!

After descaling mine the steam button button doesn't always work when pressed. Also steam sometimes comes out when the button isn't pressed

@@DavidGuyan Hi David, please ensure you are not trying to remove the nut when the appliance is connected to the power supply or when the unit is still hot - leave it for at least 2 hours to cool down. The nut can sometimes become very tight due to pressure and limescale build-up so we'd recommend using a socket and wrench set with 5/8 inch (16mm) sockets. I hope this helps. - Izabel
Unfortunately, it doesn't tell you what to do if the descale light stays on after you've performed the process.
Hi there, Please note if the indictor light stays on after switching the appliance off/on then it could indicate a build-up of limescale that hasn't been fully de-scaled. Thanks, Richard.
All good - Except it's a real shame that you didn't tell everyone to throw the key away - (it is dangerously 'not fit for purpose') - and get a 16mm socket (not a spanner). You will end up in A & E regardless of how much strength you have. The nut is brass and seized in by the limescale. Brass is more likely to shear under tension, although you are likely to be injured trying - the tool is absolutely not going to undo that nut - shame on you Morphy Richards - as they already know this from complaints but fail to resolve or highlight this (typical of the industry).

No way will it open even with wooden spoon for leverage. Husband tried too!!!!!!! So now an expensive iron as good as waste of money as won't last is can't get rid of lime scale and no time to take get opened. Husband saying needs good screw driver sooooooo mad 😡😡😡😡😡😡

I feel like SCREAMING!!!! Bolt won't unscrew!!! First time I got iron was same thing and took my husband failing and eventually my daughters partner who is a plumber to open but with great difficulty! So when screwed back on I didnt over tighten. Was very careful to ensure would open.. HOWEVER, it's stuck AGAIN!!!! Assuming you turn to the LEFT which I'm sure he does in video ...Honestly my fingers are sore. Even tried with rubber gloves on!!!! 🥵

My second steam iron from murphy Richards. Couldnt turn the bolt on the first one iron died on me after 13months . The second one is 15months old and can't turn the bolt. Never ever buying this brand again.
