It is always a pleasure to learn from dear Santosh. For the benefit of the traders, i would like to add that for trading in derivatives 50% margin is to be given in cash or cash equivalent and not cash only. Most of the debt instruments qualify, when pledged, as cash equivalent.

@@jainsc37 Brother, it's a broker level requirement and not a client level requirement, a lot of people will be selling options with 100% cash which means let's say there are 10 lots sold by clients of a particular broker, 5 people may pay 100% cash for selling them, so rest of the 5 lots can be sold with 100% margin.

You are assuming the option price will move as the cash price.. which is 100 delta but even an ATM put will be near 50 delta ..so this needs to be factored in

Why not to buy Hdfc Bank Future instead of synthetic call ?? The benefit will be same and margin is less required plus can keep stop loss on chart..so why not future instead??
I feel you have missed the real point. There is no expiry date is cash market. As per your way of trading. Breakout doesn't have exact time. It may happen in days, month, years. Just it's my suggestion. Thankyou
These guys are wasting your time. Synthetic future is the same as buying/selling futures except that you need not worry about topping up the margin, in case of MTM loss.

Very incorrect logic , cash mein you can buy 100 shares but in options the lot is higher , mark to market passi will pay if it goes wrong plus he is suggesting to buy 2 lots , what nonsense stratergy it is ....Margin is for leverage trade who is going to pay Mark to market if it goes against ....

It's a broker level requirement, use something like angel one and you can use 100% collateral margin

Instead of doing this why not long only future?
If future goes in loss, you have to pay m2m. Secondly future needs more brokerage/charges.
