Obituary for
Barbara Belle "Tootsie" (Shaw) Maltese of Rochester, NY, passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on April 8, 1937, in Rochester.
Barbara, known for her happy-go-lucky personality and heart of gold, had a go-with-the-flow attitude and was easy-going, caring, helpful, thoughtful, and at times, stubborn as a mule. She cherished spending time with her husband and family and was deeply devoted to all of them.
For 20 years, Barbara worked alongside her husband and daughters at their family businesses, where she served customers with a smile and pitched in wherever needed.
In her leisure time, Barbara enjoyed listening to music, playing cards, watching soap operas and game shows, going for walks, shopping, swimming, and most of all, spending quality time with her loved ones.
Barbara is survived by her children: Barbara (Kevin) Higgins, Philip (Dawn) Maltese, Donna (Tom) Oberlin, Alexander Maltese, Pamela Maltese, Jerome Maltese, Virginia Maltese, Michael Maltese, James (Brianna) Maltese, and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip Maltese.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory can be made to The American Kidney Fund.
May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.---
