CLIP DESCRIPTION:
With Nicky (Joe Pesci) playing a round of golf, an FBI plane lands on the course just as Ace (Robert De Niro) meets with the Control Board.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The inner-workings of a corrupt Las Vegas casino are exposed in Martin Scorsese's story of crime and punishment. The film chronicles the lives and times of three characters: "Ace" Rothstein (Robert De Niro), a bookmaking wizard; Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci), a Mafia underboss and longtime best friend to Ace; and Ginger McKenna (Sharon Stone, in a role she was born to play), a leggy ex-prostitute with a fondness for jewelry and a penchant for playing the field. Ace plays by the rules (albeit Vegas rules, which, as he reminds the audience in voiceover, would make him a criminal in any other state), while Nicky and Ginger lie, cheat, and steal their respective ways to the top. The film's first hour and a half details their rise to power, while the second half follows their downfall as the FBI, corrupt government officials, and angry mob bosses pick apart their Camelot piece by piece.

Here is the true story to this scene: The plane the FBI flew in did land on the golf course. But the plane didn't run out of fuel, instead it was due to a mechanical failure of the plane itself.

I work at Las Vegas National where the plane landed on the 1st fairway and unfortunately no plane on the edge of the fairway. People will ask once in a while where that plane ended up, but no clue where

Robert and these movies have such a genuine flow of spontaneity in the way the characters here deliver their lines that it saddens me that such flow in today's movies is totally missing. Nothing is forced here. Everything just flows naturally here, they are not acting it seems. Dogshit today's movies are compared to this classic. Robert is GOD.
I think Wolf of Wallstreet lives up to Goodfellas and Casino.

This scene really did happen and the only thing they changed was the reason why the plane landed on the golf course. In real life, it was mechanical failures that caused the FBI guys to suddenly land. How embarrassing that must have been for Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal.
