Thank you so much for this video! I'm a beginner and about to choose my first bass guitar. My teacher said I should check which ones I find interesting and this series is definitely my favorite. I hope my teacher will consent :)
I just purchased the White one today, and it is very Impressive in terms of: Sound-quality, Build-quality and Playability. Great Bang-for-the-Buck. oNe LovE from NYC
This is my first and only bass guitar. I was originally going to get an Ibanez but they ran out due to covid and I got one of these instead. While I haven't actually managed to play any other basses so far it has served me well. What do you guys think of it?
IMO, for the price, an incredible instrument to be very honest....It has some pretty good components and the quality of those are really interesting! Better than the Ibanez series in a lot of ways...
I got the snow white version in layaway, i wasn't planning on spending this much on a bass but, since they had the layaway option i decided to get it. I played it a bit in store, and so now i gotta wait until i finish paying it, im thinking about getting the mini amps that just plug into headphones, and will use headphones, and pc speakers since i have some subwoofer pc speaker set ups :)
I bought it, changed the factory strings with the Rotosound 66, some bridge and neck settings and now it sounds pretty good even if the sound is still a bit too bright for my taste. A good entry level to take to the rehearsal room.
@@SEGBASS hey thanks for the reply. I thought that it was a long scale. I recently bought a pack of new strings. D'addario heavy gauge. I threw em on it,and it sounds horrible. When I first bought the bass,it sounded awesome. I'm kinda new to all this. I don't know. The new strings almost sound like they're old. Lol. Brand new outta pack. Anyways. Thank you for the reply.
@@jerryfick8547 Yeah it can happen....The good news is that, even if you're new to this, you have an honest ear on what you think sound good or not...It's a good thing ;) Keep searching for the best tone my friend!
Like I respond to multiple comments, the bass was not setup for my playing when I did the demo....The fret height was definitely too low for me loll...It's just a matter of adjustments, nothing with the quality of the bass itself.
@@SEGBASS only 3 knobs on the js2. 1 volume, 1 blend to balance between the 2 pickups, 1 for bass/treble? All these knobs are the in passive/active mode? Cheers
These are really...But really good questions! To be honest, for the battery, I don't know (maybe have a look at their website...???) And for the weight, I put a link in the description for the MSP Musique Website....It should have that information in the specs area of the page!
@@SEGBASS I can help answer that. Yes when the battery dies it will still operate in passive mode because passive mode does not need the 9 V battery to function only when you have it set in active mode. I own one of those instruments myself.
The weight is fairly even it ways a good 7 pounds and 14 oz There's different sizes that range from 7 pounds and 14 oz to 8 pounds and 6 oz. There is no bottom heavy or top heavy weight it is completely balanced due to the over all size and shape.
@@michael_caz_nyc on the back there's a black covering, unscrew you'll see wearings and a 9 volt battery thats connected to its power source that is easily detachable.
Nah fender squir better bass imo go to the 1st fret on g string feel the buzz on it... if Jackson fixed that issue it'd be okay the action is way wayyyyyy to low
I agree that when they lent me the bass, I realized that the action was too low for my playing....But the action can be adjusted (and must be!!) to suit better the playing of the musician! It's not because the action on that one is low that the bass is not good lolll...It just mean that it is not adjust for MY particular playing!
Tengo ambos, primero tuve el ibanez y después me compré el Jackson, totalmente es mejor de hecho este modelo supera a los Squier de Fender simplemente por ser activos
And it's not okay going oh well I can play through some buzz.... no... because it only lessens you and you don't progress any further because you are used to buzz and think it's okay ... guys just buy a fender

@WilfredoReyes-zd3uk Good Luck brother = nice Bass right? Get a Fender Rumble 40 ( I have the 100 ) and you're good-to-go.

It is the best $200 you will ever spend. As long as you take care of it like it's your own kid you're in fit for a great instrument.

I agree! Most of the time, settings makes a huge difference!!
@@SEGBASS is this bass a short or long scale?

Nice sound but I'd like to hear it even in passive mode
Got a white one as my first instrument. For 120.
They're $200 now. Inflation is crazy
Sounds like the strings are vibrating a bit. Adjust the bridge? Too close to the fretboard.

Hey thank you for the video dude!
🙏thx for sharing
In a description I had seen it listed as Active Preamp/ (Active/passive switch). Does this unit take a battery.
As far as I know, yes...but it can be bypass quickly by the push/pull switch
Thanks for the review.. How is it possible to set bass/treble? Is there a pot to do do that ?
Yes of course there's actually a knob for the bass level and another one for the treble! You can adjust both with these two!!
@@SEGBASS only 3 knobs on the js2.

Lotta audible string noise? Not as noticeable picking and none noticed when slapping. Did you think it’s inherent to the bass?
Yeah...Basically, the bass was not adjusted for my playing when I did the demo...That's why! The strings height was too low....
El bass boost es la perilla que se jala & se mete?
Yes!!!
Good morning, if the battery drains, does it continue to operate in passive mode? Can you tell me exactly how much it weighs?
