The only sad thing is that the chiefs, and leaders of this town did not conceived that its a bad image and also bad to the conscience of the town to host their festival at and around the slave castle. What a pitiful thing.

The god of fishing resides there and the spirits of the ancestors also lives there so there is a shrine that so that is why they celebrate it there.

Everyone is talking about culture, but is this culture or just dancing and singing celebration. Doesn’t this happen in the churches all the time. Is there a difference?

Hmmm! These are pure Asante displaced by war in the 1900s.
These are people who were internal displaced from " Bantama in kumasi " Ay3asem oooo " I think the should go back and join Asantiman they can call on the kingdom to take them back since background and history are from " Bantama ".

Stop that lie. What shows they're Ashanti's? They're rather Guans who are turned Fantis.

@inno3912 : Go back to memory lane, learn the ancient history of Akans/ Ashanti kingdom, and hear and listen well ofuie . Ask earnestly any older folk who know the Ashanti kingdom history and ask why they called them " Edina Bantama " ofuie they the difference between Oguans and Edina Bantama and show you their migration patterns in Ghana 🇬🇭.

Kwasia, everything Asante. Asante itself was not formed in 1471. But the Portuguese met native Edina people in 1471. None of Edina communities have twi as their native language. It's purely Fanti. The fact some traders from Batama came and lived at Elmina doesn't make Edina people as Asantes.
Do u know the name of the hair of the little children? Asantes never have any culture like that. Do u know the name of the dance the children are doing? Asantes don't dance like that. This is a pure Fante culture. Learn your history well.

Stop your foolishness and backward here. The Ashantis who came to Elmina the Fantes soldiers call Asafo buried all their heads in Elmina. This is pure Fante culture call apatampa. Do you know why there's Fantes Newtown in Kumasi ?
